I guess we are stuck with it but is that really the only design they can come up with for the canopy? I just hope theres some good sound wave bounce from it.

It is very "Miami" looking fits the area I think.

If they were lower I would imagine it would obstruct some viewing angles of the field for the fans in the seats close to the screens.

Those corners will look odd for the 2015 season without the videoboards added yet. Maybe they'll put some cloth thing with the logo over it or something.

Its funny in that one picture there's a guy downing a beer while the game is on a TV behind him...Truly capturing the spirit of watching the Phins! It must be a December shot.

Aqua seats look nice. A few rows of Orange might've been cool though in the first few rows or somewhere in the middle to break up the Aqua.

So I was wrong, under the scoreboards will not be open air pass through to the concourse. Will apparently be 4 different patio bars directly underneath the screens. Pretty cool thought. Roof top bar at Coors Field for the Colorado Rockies sells out pretty much every game.

Multi-story, dance club with cabanas is so South Beach. Not necessary, but I get why they put it in. It will probably be packed most games.

The '72 Club is going to be pretty epic, if you can afford those seats. Gonna cost a fortune, but the amenities are pretty fantastic.

If you look at the small orange wall between the field of play and the stands (starts at the bottom of the pic) in the 2014 pic, then that should give you an idea of how much closer the stands are going to be, because based on the 2016 pic they come out to there.

IMO, this will be pretty slick once it's completed. Enough so to make me make my second-ever trek down for a home game. I went in 2010, and perhaps I'm spoiled having been to Lambeau Field (it's a LOT nicer than you'd expect), Lucas Oil (Indy) and Reliant (Houston), but Sun Life was/is a dump...with nice scoreboards.

All these upgrades almost look too good to be true.

Hopefully the on-field product will be better by 2016.

    over there

There's no doubt that the harmonics of the crowd noise (and the new sound system) will bounce/ deflect down onto the field.
I would hope there was a thought process going into that.

This is what I meant before when I said a steeper rake makes no sense. THIS picture makes sense. According to this, the stake isn't getting steeper at all, its actually the other way around.

Some one said that the tunnels behind the goal post were staying and it certainly looks like that from some of the shots from above. But flip to page 22 of the pdf and it turns out these are field level boxes. They are definitely cramming in some innovative ideas.

This is what I initially envisioned when they said they would be changing the rake. The notion of a steeper rake (which would actually get more fans closer) was based on the idea that they were adding some kind of promenade at the top of the 100 level.

So DJ, dare I ask this, but now that you've seen all the pictures, what are your thoughts? Is it:

    A) Spot on
    B) Almost there
    C) Not quite right
    D) A total waste
    E) Other, explain

    Just curious.

One thing I noticed in the PDF link is the sun study part. It looks like the away team, their entire bench and coaching staff, will be in the sun when the roof is finished. Our sideline looks like it will be in the shade. Isn't that one thing everyone is always saying about teams having to play down here, is the heat?

    That link is awesome.

Let's face it, this is about as good as it could get on a remodel. And, it's going to be a great experience. The NFL will love the SB there - and there will be several there. It's going to be much louder. and some phenomenal amenities.

The only negative to me is the "Field Level." I love those seats. But, as far as wanting fan "craziness" I think they need to have less "luxury" down in the end zone. That's not the kind of fans you want right there (no offense). And there won't be many right there either because of the size of the seats, etc.

Otherwise, I think it will be an incredibly improved experience. And, it should help attendance. Plus they still get the sun on the field (especially on the opponents bench) for Sept and Oct - which gives a good advantage to the team.

The other great thing is that by 2016, we should be done with Philbin and hopefully will have a new coach in place who will truly change the culture. It could really be the start of something fresh for the team.

It's not the heat, my name. Well, it used to be that way but once lil nicky's bubble was built & ross cried to goodell about 1pm gms we've become the softer team.

The other thing, based upon the sun study, looks like for much of the game, the majority of the field will be in shade. I would suspect that this will be even moreso the later the season gets. I wonder if this will finally lead to us wearing aqua at home from October on.

I hope so, seeing 13/14 weeks of the season in white jerseys gets boring. At least we have whatever this alternate jersey is going to be to look forward to as well. I'm really pumped about the stadium though, I might actually drive down for a game now.

I'm personally dreading the alternate. First, it means one fewer chance to see aqua over white (best combo in sports). Secondly, it's 90% likely to be fugly. Unless its dark blue with aqua accents, I'm not in favor. Orange needs to stay a distant third wheel in the color relationship.

I knew they were replacing the seats but I didn't realize they were going to be all aqua now instead of orange.

The whole new design looks gorgeous and I love how the visiting sideline gets stuck in the sun while we get the shade. Smart.

Definitely need to get down there for a game soon.

the only thing that could be better is my idea, and we know theres only one owner smart enough for that idea.not saying I'm smarter just in this case.

thats loaded Ro, but Ill just be honest..I would choose B but only relatively speaking.

1} its a waste of money considering what they could do with a little extra and how much more money they could of made with a blueprint to intimidate.

2} Im desperate and have given up hope on owners who can think outside the box in the concept that I think could literally change the game.

3} relative to what both our programs have been dealing with this is like a serious upgrade.

4} with the 425 mill I would be doing something to the upper as well because if nothing done those seats are really far away..Just doesn't make sense to me that nothing is being done there in the rebuild of a stadium.

5} I'm sure its gonna look great, the lower bowl improvements and roof will close in the space and keep more energy inside..

6} I love the all blue seats...less orange the better.

    7} The roof is genius.

8} Garfinkle is a good guy.

9} I appreciate that they recognized a problem and spent money on reconfiguration.

just amazing to me that the seattle blueprint has not inspired an owner and architect to outdo the Link...what a waste..

but overall, Im as happy as one could be because I know any improvement to the energy inside will be magnified to our players because of what their used to.

DJ, you keep saying how the seats in the upper deck are far away. Is that all the seats, or just certain ones?

I've only had the ability to see a game in three NFL stadiums. However, sitting in the same general area in Miami, Carolina and Cincinnati, I felt about as close to the field in all three places. I sat between the 40 & 50 yard line, half way up the upper deck in all three. Carolina certainly felt steeper, and therefor less safe and comfortable, than the other two. My view of the game was virtually identical in all three though.

That's great, I hope the crowd noise echos times a million with that canopy. It would be a great advantage for our defense.
