    Thanks for the info.

Not the greatest news ever, but hardly a surprise at this point.

Time to put lots of resources into offense I think

    So nothing gets fixed?
Just pretend that perfect game by Geno never happened?
Pretend getting run over for 4 straight games without adjusting your run defense was strategic genius?
Pretend the complete implosion of the defense in the second half of the season is acceptable?

Yup everything is good, great, grand, gravy!

    This is beyond discouraging!

Say goodbye to Kacy, our best position coach... maybe our best defensive coach period.

Now he'll go to the jets with Bowles and routinely kick our ***.

Wonder if Odrick will sign with the Jets and his old DL coach?

Armando seems to be reporting his opinion as fact.

I think Coyle stays too but this is a rather misleading title.

He's been preaching that Coyle will stay and to get used to it for the past week. His writing style just came off as if he were continuing that idea is all. I've seen multiple reports confirm it now.

Not surprised, Philbin is an "offensive guy" (lol), he doesn't posses the football IQ to run a defense. The devil you know is better I guess.

If it contributes to Philbin's downfall, I'm OK with it.

I strongly dislike Mando, but he does have reliable sources in the organization.

I never thought Coyle would be replaced. No quality DC candidate would have an interest in coming to Miami for one year and then being in a situation of moving again next year after Philbin and the rest of the coaching staff are let go.

At this point, I just want to get the 2015 season over with so we can finally start the rebuilding process with the head coach who will finally replace Philbin.

So sad that this is what we have to hope for this season.

Unbelievable, nobody is held accountable for the defensive collapse at the end of this season. Injuries... sure... but come on.

Considering that the Cowboys and Cardinals had major injuries to their defenses and still made it to the playoffs its no longer a valid excuse.

Get the guy some linebackers, and some DBs who don't get hurt all the dadgum time.

The man whose poor judgement selected and extended Philbin (by not firing him) is still the one whose poor judgement will determine the direction we go after Philbin.

He disregards his advisors, so don't talk yourself into thinking Ross will heed Marino. And I'm not sure I trust Tannenbaum to pick the best coaching candidate either. Of course, if Tannenbaum messes up we can thank Ross for picking Tannenbaum.

This is Hell. There is no way out.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

I can see it now, Brandon Spikes taking Tampa-2 style center field zone responsibilities, or Shaq Thompson setting the edge and jamming Rob Gronkowski.

If there was a problem with linebackers this year, it was the coaching staff promoting Koa Misi to an every-down position when he's managed to play all 16 games as a 2-down guy all of once in his career. Even then, that's not a good excuse when Jason Trusnik played well.

The big defensive issue this year was the defensive tackles getting their asses kicked late in the year while Coyle just kind of blithely carried on.

Sounds like they tested the waters for a DC, but nobody bit. Just consider the timing as an indicator.

I believe turnovers increased. So that's good. Let's see if he can sustain a late season run.

If they don't jell together with another full year there's no questions on cleaning staff. Last chance to show what kind of team these guys can put on the field failure now and it will be reset button time.

While I agree that we have guys in roles that don't necessarily fit their skill set, at LB especially, what were the alternatives?

Trusnik played well but for him that means being slightly less of a liability. Jenkins is overrated, ideally he's a nickel LB, just as Misi is ideally a two down guy or maybe even a backup bc 16 games seems too much for his body even in his prime. Wheeler is decent but where do you play him? Imo we need to rebuild the unit, maybe trade Jordan to a 3-4 team for an actual 4-3 LB. I dunno, but the mere thought of coaching the group we had last year makes my head hurt.

Our DB unit fell apart due to injury, that ones easy. The hard part is DL, not sure what happened there.

Ironically, if you were a Cowboys fan you'd have been screaming for Jason Garrett to be fired after three straight 8 win seasons.
