But we ARE pathetic. It's what defines us.

Once a cheater, always a cheater, right?

"When Shula replaced Wilson at Miami the Colts charged the Dolphins with tampering in their hiring of Shula, costing the Dolphins their first round draft pick in 1971."

Well, here's some new information. Apparently the play we have on video wasn't the first incident? This report, being reported by ESPN states it was after the interception by Dqwell Jackson that the officials were first made aware of a deflated ball by the Colts.

    There's still something to this...

    http://m.espn.go.com/general/story?storyId=12198323&city=boston&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FvsWN6fSJcB%22%7D&ex_cid=sportscenterTW&wjb

Trying to keep an open mind here, but... it's getting harder.

As of the conclusion of the 2011 NFL season, the Patriots had the best record in the NFL since Spygate, compiling a 48-16 record from 2008-11 (the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints were second best over that span at 45-19).[SUP][28][/SUP]
The Patriots won 69.3 percent of their games while they were presumably taping signals.

They have won 75.6 percent of games after the spygate scandal.

They are also 3 for 3 in SB's during Camera Time. They are 0 for 2 in SB's after Camera Time.

Honestly, if it doesn't give you a significant competitive advantage, why bother doing it at all?

Makes sense. Patriots probably operated under the assumption Tom wouldn't throw an int. arrogant pricks.

Here's another article about the new report that it happened after the Jackson INT...

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/how-did-colts-find-out-about-deflate-gate--and-gronk-takes-blame-144407663.html

So again, I'm not sure why some of us here are making it seem like the NE center noticed it and gave it to the officials. As I said, I haven't seen that. McLovin says there's a vid that shows it that I can't see. Likely what we saw there was the Kickoff ball being accidentally left on the field and replaced.

Appears to me after this new information, there's still something funky going on here.

Is the argument that the Colts were using properly inflated balls? I'm trying to figure out if anyone has seen any evidence that there were a couple balls only being used by the Patriots. It may be illegal to deflate them, but were both teams using them? Is there evidence that the Patriots actually deflated them? What we know so far...

    1. At least two balls (I think) were underinflated, the one caught by the Colts DB, and the one that the refs took from the Pats center (or who gave it to them, depending on who you believe)

Anddddd...that's it? I guess I don't get the uproar, unless, once again, we are believing that there was a conspiracy by the ball boys to feed under-inflated balls only to the Patriots. If both teams were using the same balls, wouldn't both teams have received the benefit of the under-inflated balls?

Who's exited hearing the same old spew of puke coming from that organization of cheating it's not like they earned the name cheatriots this week it's came from year after year of it. It's been all of one week since Harbaugh had to point out the last one. Any more it's not even a surprise it's just normal play from one particular team.

The two words that never comes to mind in describing the Patriots is sportsmanship or honor. But they do win a lot.

It's in this article below, and another I posted yesterday in this very thread...

    http://m.espn.go.com/general/story?storyId=12198323&city=boston&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FvsWN6fSJcB%22%7D&ex_cid=sportscenterTW&wjb

Hopefully this helps some understand the potential significance of this.

If that's even true, then I would NOT put it past Belichick to actually tell his center to complain about an under-inflated ball at that point in the game because he knew the NFL was alerted to his antics. Its called trying to cover your *** but it didn't work. Cheating bastards.

Actually a Colts DB first made the claim after an INT.

    A-f%#$ing-men.

Add this to a long list of "advantages/luck" for that sham of an organization.

And the center being the one that pointed it out in no way = the Pats couldn't have known about it...what a reach. If you pull a sly one are you going to tell the whole team or the players? Plausible deniability dictates otherwise.

F#%$ the Pats...NFL'S not far behind IMHO. They're all BS.

Is it just speculation that the ball they took at the start of the 2nd half was for the inflation test? I think it's very possible the center reported they still had the kickoff ball, and that was changed out as was initially announced during the game. It's very possible the "center tipped them off" defense is completely unrelated, and not even the ball they tested.

Of course we'd know that if the NFL actually released any real info. That's the frustrating part... All this speculation when they could easily release if in fact any of the balls were underinflated, how many, when they were tested, etc.

If a tested ball was underinflated it wasn't just 1 ball, there was also the intercepted ball that apparently started this.

So you are making the end result and the scoring of so many pts a reason why it is a non issue? The fact the Pats won by 38pts might be because the margin of the win was maybe helped, supported and swayed by the very reason the NFL are investigating tampering of the balls? Duuuurr? No offense but you are talking crap. Nice how you turned it into a Dolphin/Pats topic. Its totally Irrelevant.

Pete Rose's gambling is mere child's play compared to the cheating habits of the Patriots or the referring of both the NFL and NBA(see Tim Donaghy).

Are all of you going to be angry about Aaron Rodgers admitting that he likes to have the balls over-inflated due to his large hands? He said he has that done, and plays with those balls until the refs notice. If they never notice, then he plays the whole game with them.

Once again, I'm sure that a Patriots "cheating" scandal is probably something done league wide...

Gotta respect McLovin's hustle here. He's hell bent on proving to a bunch of Dolphins fans on their board that his innocent team did no wrong.

    LOL. Sorry I'm done here.

Alright fine. You folks have convinced me. The New England Patriots are a top flight NFL organization that plays by the rules. The team plays fair, and upholds the highest standards of sportsmanship we have come to expect of all 32 NFL teams.

    Yeah, right.
