McLovin's the exception. Most Patriots fans are doing the "We won by 38, so what if we cheated a little?". If this were any other team, they'd be the first outraged.

I swear, these people will shout "Not Guilty" from the jury box before the prosecutor makes his opening statement in the AHern trial.

I'm so happy this is real and that Goodell can't just make it go away like he did the tapes. Seriously, this is just wonderful. The only thing that'll make it better is if someone somehow has footage of Belichick doing the deed himself and he's kicked out of the sport forever.

Realistically, we should wait for the investigation to be over.

And when it's over, and if proven that the deflations were intentional, hopefully it's nothing less than fire and brimstone for these ****ing cheaters. Repeat offense so.. Money? Draft picks? DQ from Super Bowl? The sad thing is they would have won anyways, but the NFL is only concerned with if they won the right way.

Only recourse is disqualification IMO. I know it won't happen but it should - and this isn't me being all anti-Patriots. I believe that would be the right course of action no matter who was involved. It would suck for any and all players and coaches who had nothing to do with it but that's on the heads of the guilty. Bottom line is that the Patriots cheated, they tilted the table, made the playing field uneven and since there's no way to know what effect was had, exactly, or how things might have turned out, their win has to be ruled invalid. Colts vs. Seahawks is the only way that this should work out.

How did they get such exact weights of footballs after the fact? And isn't this partly on the officials, who grab/place the ball every snap? Don't get me wrong I do think they're guilty, I'm just curious to hear how this whole thing went down. Dramatic stuff. Gonna be fascinating to see what it looks like when they get to the bottom of all this.

Shows you how much officials could have been in on this, I mean if the officials are handling the Colts balls and the Patriots balls IT SHOULD BE NOTICED that there is a difference in weight and feel. I'm also tired of the excuse that the cheatriots defense doesn't handle balls and they still kept the Colts to 7 points, or that they scored more points after the deflated ball was found. They cheated and I'm glad someone let the air out of their victory!

Felt good waking up this morning to see this. Here's the article on ESPN below since I'm sure some still wont want to believe it yet.

    http://espn.go.com/boston/story/_/id/12202450/nfl-says-new-england-patriots-had-inflated-footballs-afc-championship-game

Absolutely ridiculous. The advantage that gives, is huge. Just go outside, and deflate your own football they way they did. You'll see the difference.

What's a shame here is they're still going to let New England play in the Super Bowl. I know they probably would have won the game anyways, that's what pisses me off even more about this. It's a complete joke. Another cheating scandal for them. They'll get away with it, loose $25k or something stupid, and a draft pick. Big ****ing deal. They're still going to play in the Super Bowl. Who knows how many times they did this through the course of the season, or other seasons for that matter.

The other thing that really concerns me now, the balls are to be inspected prior to the game by the Refs, we know that. So if they're 2 PSI underinflated, how the hell did that get past the officials? Either they allowed it, or it happened on the sidelines by the ball attendants, who are provided by the hometeam. Of course, we know its easy to let air out of a ball, so that's likely too. Now, to me that's the big part to be determined. Were the officials aware of it? Did they not inspect the balls? Were they tampered with after the fact on the sidelines? Pathetic New England. Pathetic. It's too much of a coincidence that 11 of their 12 were underinflated for it to have been a "natural cause", so hopefully the NFL doesn't use that as an excuse to help make this go away. To me, its pretty clear something went on, that shoudlnt have.

We play a game of football every year the day after Thanksgiving. Nothing too serious, and since we're all getting to be old men it's only 2 hand touch. But it's in Western New York, and more years than not it is really crappy weather. Either rain, snow, and/or blistering cold weather. We always end up using a ball that is slightly under-inflated. So much easier to throw and catch. Anyone that is acting like this isn't a huge advantage is kidding themselves.

Before the game I said the Colts were in big trouble because the weather was Patriots weather, NOW we know why it is AND how many other games in the past were closer than the AFC Championship game but were decided with the help of deflated footballs?

They should lose at least three first draft picks but that won't happen, Kraft is so far up Goodell's butt this will probably just cost them a 4th rounder.

and the plot thickens. Apparently back in November Brady admitted he prefers a deflated ball:

Oh hell yeah! And it makes a difference in if they won games during the season with a deflated football did it help them with their record and their seeding, maybe if they didn't cheat the Colts have a better record and the game is in the friendly and warm confines of Lucas Oil Stadium.

When you can throw a ball harder, further, more accurately and when it gets there is nearly undroppable (less likely to bounce and easier to squeeze), this has to bring into question Brady's passing accomplishments and that offense as a whole, no?

If Sean Peyton was suspended for an entire year, I really don't see how the league in good conscience can not suspend Belichick for at least a year. This is a second offense!

It doesn't matter what happens. A second conviction at cheating in any manner is a complete and total indictment on the character of that organization. Brilliant organization, but evil as fuuuuu***********. And just for fun yea I'd vote for slap on the wrist.

While there is no way to prove the extent to which this might have influenced the game it brings every throw, catch, and carry into question because a softer ball is easier to throw, catch and harder to knock loose.

Also the fact 1 ball was inflated properly is a little suspect now too. Perhaps they do that so in clutch situation they put the hard ball in play when the pats need a big defensive stop. Please let this be true.

If gronk spikes it and causes it to be deflated, then it is up to the refs to take that ball out at that point. nobody is doing anything wrong in that scenario

the opposing team plays with their own balls :shifty:, none of the deflated or the one good ball would be used by the colts, if that were the case, then this whole thing would be a non issue.

For your top part, NO! Gronk didn't score 11 TD's last week so your argument is invalid.

For your second part, 11 of 12 were deflated, the one properly inflated ball was probably NE's 'show ball' that they show the refs to make everything seem cool. Pats are a bunch of cheaters. Point blank period.

Pats are a just a classless organization. Thats a fact, not even debatable at this point. Belicheat lacks integrity to the extreme. Hes the type of guy who would steal from his own family if it meant getting a leg up on the competition.

You sound correct sir that New England didn't use their balls when the Colts were on offense, I'm sure you've done your research and are correct in that they use their own balls. However for your sake, and the rest of cheatriot nation you all better pray you aren't penalized in any way from this incident. If you are, then this will be the second time you've been caught cheating RED HANDED, and you may not care but a lot of the rest of the nfl will always look at Bellicheat the same way our truly great coach Don Shula does, as a cheater.
