Considering there's maybe 4 maybe 5 QBs who can do that, I'm good with Tannehill. We can win with him. So unless we're getting Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck, I'll take my chances with Tannehill. Who else realistically can we get if we gave up on Ryan?

    Pfft...

Just because Ross has given up on this team (by retaining Queasy), doesn't mean that every one else has... Maybe Thill is only mediocre, but then he's probably better than 20 other starting QBs in the league...should we just cede every game next season to expedite the firing of Queasy?? No thank you... We've been looking for a QB since 1997... There isn't a Dan Marino out there, so you may have to be happy with the next best thing (Flacco, Ryan, Thill, etc)...

If it's a bad year for a free agent QB and we trade RT who is going to be the QB?

No the thread was started to determine what kind of trade value Tannehill has.

None of his admirers had the guts to comment.

Most of the posts just bashed the OP, Tannehill has a bunch of gutless wonders for supporters.

You can't help to conclude that these fans don't really think as highly of Tannehill as they are making out.

One thing I know without any doubt; if they sign RT to a big fat long contract, the Dolphins are doomed to several more years of being mediocre or perhaps even bad if the Jets and Bills find good QB's in the near future.

the best qb we have had by far since marino, a guy that has progressed greatly in every season, who just finished his 3rd season after limited time in college at the position, who has been ranked by many as a top 10 qb in the NFL and some of you are already trying to run him out of town. some people on here are unbelievable.

Foles is gonna be on the roster without a doubt and have every opportunity to win the job as he should. But something tells me their QB group next year wont be Foles, Sanchez, Barkley. It's too weak a group I think. Foles again imo, is a very nice player, but Tannehill and a lot of other guys just have such higher ceilings that you really need to find Foles competition for that coach imho. Good thing Kelly has total control now, he's gonna need it.

I would rather use the pick or picks and the salary cap room from moving Tannehill to build a top five defense and get under the cap going into 2016, rather than riding Tannehill into cap hell and a dismal future without hope.

With a strong defense and offensive line and some cap room going into the 2016 offseason there is hope.

People have given plenty of reasons why trading him is a bad idea. There's a poll up about resigning Tannehill...last I checked it was vastly favored by people wanting to resign him.

Easy to figure out most don't agree with your premise. But but since you seem to want a some sort of figure, I'd want two first round picks to even consider trading him.

Well, Thill's stats don't indicate that he's a mediocre QB. The reasons for this teams' continued mediocrity go more towards the farce that this organization has become than one player... Even IF you get a draft pick for him (you're not getting more than one), then you have to use that pick for another QB??

Trading Thill, at this point in time, just doesn't make any sense at all...

How is making a thread on a fan forum going to determine that? If you want an opinion, I think he's worth at least first rounder, maybe a couple of those.. but evaluating a QB's trade value is sort of a catch-22 when you don't have another good one under the wings.

If Tannehill has a high trade value, it means other teams want Tannehill, which means many others think that he will be a good franchise QB, likely making that assumption true, which defeats the purpose of trading him away. If he has low trade-value, then there really is no point of trading him anyway, as you're going to be looking for another QB in the near future, with little compesation, and therefore, low chance of finding someone who can take his spot right away.

Btw rumors are swirling in Philly that the organization is "feeling" trade value for Foles. That's why Tannehill is so good, teams that have more success and wins than us in the past couple of years, would die for him I believe. Like Philly. Tannehill isn't the problem, quesy joe and bafoon ross are.

Foles strikes me as a guy who a team would be high on trading. Had a crazy good year on his first year, and is young. If they thought he was that good, they wouldn't be entertaining trades. They'd build around him. The fact they think they can trade him, and get big value you for him, tells me everything. It's kind of like Matt Cassell.

I think Foles will be their guy next year no matter what, but i certainly can't blame Chip kelly doing whatever it takes to get the ultimate executioner of his offense..I believe in both guys so that combination would be lethal imo...just go for it because thats what the qb needs, which is his system, and thats the skill set that coach needs to operate at the highest level...marriage made in heaven..

Exactly, like i've been saying all along, Tannehill >>>>> Foles. Not to say that makes Tannehill great, but that team wins and just needs a QB (Sorry shamegame13, but deep down u know it's the truth). That's why I personally like Tannehill so much, I know what he would do for other teams in terms of outlook at the position.

well their gonna lose their *** if they have plans to move up so accruing as much resources possible makes a lot of sense, i don't think its quite the indictment on foles, i just don't think you can ignore the fit between kelly and mariota..go for it ya know..if your in this for the long term, then go get your guy to execute your offense.

I meant Tannehill. But either way I do have a man crush on Kelly, he would overtake and overpower our organization in a New York minute if given the chance. Then gain full control and purge us of all our stupidity. We could really use him.

I doubt they're banking on landing Mariotta, too many moving parts. Foles just simply isn't the long term solution for Kelly in all likely hood, Tannehill would be though imho.

they could be banking on it if lovie smith is ok with Winston...Chip kelly is in an excellent position to have the franchise bank on it..coaching the kid, he knows what the combination could provide.

Price be damned for you I guess. Some Philly fans though don't wanna give away all their picks, for the next 5 years. Especially considering Kelly could bolt back to college if things don't work out. Unless your willing to sell the ranch, you can't expect to land Mariotta at 20 logically speaking. It's a problem I'm glad we don't have thanks to Tannedank.

The Dolphins have done some pretty stupid things over the years, but trading Tannehill would take the cake IMO...Why trade an already solid and competent QB in hopes that you might find just that? Tannehill did his job and put us in positions to win and the defense melted down on several occasions this year. I'm not saying he is Marino because he is not. It would take too much money and time to draft and develop another QB when we can address the offensive line and defensive issues and have a chance to win now...

He didn't have a crazy good year his first year. I'd say it was pretty mediocre/average even as far as rookie seasons go.

For the moment, like with Nnamdi, time changes everything though, ask Bob Griffen. And I doubt the entire fan base would be happy if he traded say 4 entire draft classes.

The eagle players want to win now, thats why their backing Foles, but this is a different animal, you've got to think long term, it probably costs you your first and 2nd this year, first and 2nd, 3rd next year.

There's a lot of things that could happen. Still not a great position to be in. I prefer ours much more even without the wins they have had the last 2 seasons. I guess we will find out when we play them next year.
