It's getting to the point where, if Bill Belichick walked up to me and said, "Hi, I'm Bill Belichick", I would not believe him.

Which is exactly why he'll allow Kraft, the "assistant commissioner", to handle the punishment of the rogue employee.

What matters here isn't the actual integrity of the game, it's the appearance of integrity in the game. If someone was caught and punished, then the Patriots are still above-board as far as PR is concerned.

So.. Hmmm.. One of the biggest things that impacts wins and losses is turn overs. Anyone doubt this didn't have a dramatic effect on wins and losses now? They shouldn't be allowed to play in this Super Bowl. But, they will. I hope they get their *** handed to them

On what planet is anyone going to believe it was some rogue ball boy? Brady said a 12.5 psi ball is perfect. He knows exactly how his footballs should feel. Spends hours having them worked on to get that feel.

Why didn't he complain they didn't feel right?

If the Pats try to sell that story, it's going to be a PR nightmare. Like Mark Schlerith said.. If they go rogue ball boy.. He will Vomit on the spot. Because then not only are they cheating, and lying on top, they are insulting everyone's intelligence

You have the Colt's starting and ending PSI? When did they release this?

Just found this (sorry if it has been posted)

If you recall, the Panthers were caught on film warming the balls up in front of a heater, which is a no-no.

You really believe that? Hell a rep from Wilson who makes the damn footballs didn't believe that.. And looking at those fumble numbers... What about in warm weather?

That's going to be the dagger. People will overlook it to some degree if it's just a QB issue.. Clearly, this had alot more to do with limiting turnovers..

Its his word not mine. But why not believe him? We expect Brady to know what 10-11 vs 12.5 feels like. Wouldn't a kicker also know? A kicker probably has to be even more precise than a QB. Ever kick a flat foot/soccer ball? It sucks. Again, the Panthers were caught violating the rule against the Vikings.

EDIT: But Im not saying it was cold enough in this game. We just don't know enough yet.

This is a planet where people believe their own version of factual events because it suits their agendas. Have you seen Twitter? People will break down along predictable lines: Pats fans believe every word coming from Brady, Belichick, and Kraft; non-Pats fans range the gamut from disinterested to skeptical to enraged; and the NFL is trying desperately to bury this because peace is profitable.

To many current and ex players smell blood on this one... They feel like the Pats have been winning games at their expense. They also feel their is more cheating going on. This one isn't going away... Not after that fumble data came out.

VT I hope you are right. This has become a joke. Kraft, BB and TB all yelling how innocent they are and then a video of the ball boy comes out. There is no way some ball boy did this on his own. Even if those three didn't know the head trainer sure was instructing the ball boy. That makes BB guilty and should be suspended. I think Goodell is still pissed about BB not having an press conference after spygate which he thought he was going to do, not just a press release. This Sting operation CK eluding to is almost like they want to catch them in the act this time.

This league is a sham. Kraft and company drove the nail home today with their BS dares and proclamations of good-doing...as if everybody just totally forgot about spygate.

I'll say it again...if the Dolphins did this, I'd flat disown them...and it would rip my guts out.

Dude. All it took for our PR ship to sink, was an expensive dinner, some phone messages/texts and an ill-timed male blow-up doll.

To the national media, this somehow merited a death sentence to Miami Dolphins football, but to many around here it just sounds like just another weekend at lucky's.

It's a bit obtuse to insist that we need the Colts' starting and ending PSI. What we know is that 11 of 12 balls for the Patriots tested under the lower limit and that 12 out of 12 Colts balls tested within the legal range.

And that's really all we need to know. Especially given the AMOUNTS in question here with at least one of the Patriots balls dropping to 10.5 PSI.

because it substantiates the drop in pressure due to atmospheric conditions (ie: temp)

the teams are not allowed to alter the balls after the refs approve them, the refs are the ones who decide if the ball is playable, if not they cycle through that teams balls until the exhaust it, then move to the other teams balls.

    balls.

90 seconds is twice the time I would need to deflate 12 footballs and I wouldn't exactly look like I was competing on Double Dare even at that pace.

People act like this was some careful scientific process. Bullsh-t. You pull out your football needle (the kind you buy at Wal-Mart for $1.99 for a pack of three) and fish out a football, jab the needle in the rubber port for about ONE second, and then move on to the next ball.

Hell even the non-uniformity of the results suggests this is more likely than atmospheric conditions, which would have affected the balls more or less equally. The fact that only 11 of the 12 balls were deflated is a suggestion of a dude fishing around a bag for footballs and losing track of which ones he already did. The fact that at least one of those balls ended up all the way down at 10.5 PSI suggests maybe he even accidentally did that one twice.

If I were ordered by the Pats to do this, to deflate the balls, this is exactly how I'd do it. I'd have a football needle with me. I'd go into a small, private bathroom so that I can lock the door without worrying about others coming in and seeing what I'm doing. And then I'd jab the needle in each ball for about a second or maybe even less. I could get 12 balls done and still have time to take a piss. And wash my hands.

I couldn't agree more, balls in a mesh bag are easy to screw up in a hurry. He was rushed and had to do it quickly. This tells me its happened lots before as they had a process in place.

So what did the Colts do to have no change in PSI under the same atmospheric conditions, re-pump their footballs between each play or something?

Don't you know that when you get busted with an 8 ball in your backseat, the cops will let you go b/c it "belongs to your cousin". :shifty:

They just said on ESPN Krafts PC was like a reminder to The Commish who he works for. What that biased channel forgets is that he works for ALL the owners not just Kraft. Its in the other owners interest if people feel that the games are legit.

Wait a minute here... the Patriots submitted that video of the attendant going into the bathroom -with the balls- to the league?? I thought the league more or less confiscated that footage through their investigation. That puts a damper on this even more now. The Patriots are using it as an alibi and I thought this was the nail in the coffin the NFL needed to bury them but no, the Pats are trying to make the league into even bigger fools.
