Haven't seen this yet, if so mods move it. Who do you pick? With final score. Pats 31, Seattle 20 Easily the least interesting super bowl yet. At least it will all be over soon.
You have to believe the powers that be in the NFL are rooting for Seattle to win. The last thing the NFL wants is a Super Bowl winner that is under investigation for cheating along the way. Better to have New England defeated and not have to face that proposition.
Both starting safeties for the Seahawks have injuries. Chancellor left practice with a knee injury on Friday and Thomas is still recovering from a separated shoulder he suffered in the game against the Packers. Sherman is reported to be a possible no show if his GF goes into labor today. Personally I would be surprised if he doesn't play, even if she does go into labor. If the secondary of the Seahawks can make it through the game without losing one of their key starters, I expect the Seahawks to win in a close game. If on the other hand Chancellor can't play because of his knee injury and Thomas is limited by his separated shoulder, it might turn out to be a fairly easy win for the Patriots. I'm pulling for the Seahawks to win. So hopefully the starters in the secondary can get through this game and then have the next several months to recover from their injuries.
Chancellor's "Knee Injury" is just from banging knees. At worst he has a bruised Knee, which wont keep him out.
And that could very well be an issue with New England's primary weapon, Gronkowski. If I'm Bill Belichick I'm throwing Gronkowski a pass down the seam right at Earl Thomas's right shoulder on the first offensive play of the game. Make that defense feel fallible right from play number one.
All teams deal w/ injuries but it's a shame that the Seachickens secondary is really banged up for this game. Can't stand the thought of them winning another one. Ugh.
I think the Pats are mad and will play to avenge all that is going on. I think it will be a blow out - 45-14. I hope I am wrong....
Sadly I think the Patriots will win. I think they're angry and focused, and will play with a lot to prove. I don't want to dismiss that Seattle defense at all, so I hope they once again dominate, but I fear Pats will win. 27-24 Pats.
Exactly why the whole deflategate should have been squashed until after the super-bowl. Maybe it was meant to be a distraction for the Patriots ------anyone ever think of it that way???? Of course not, most on here had them guilty 5 seconds after the story broke. Wouldn't it be hilarious if someone who was trying to set them up, it back fired and the Patriots put up 60 points
The Seattle Seahawks have the #1 defense in the league, allowing an average 15.9 points per game. The Patriots have the #8 defense in the league, allowing an average 19.6 per game. Key to the game? If Marshawn Lynch rushes the ball for 25 times and gains over 100 yards, the Seahawks win. The Seahawks have the #1 rushing team in the league, averaging 172.6 yards per game on the ground. That ground pound attack takes a toll on defenses. Although this will be the 6th Super Bowl appearance for Tom Brady and the Patriots, he will yet lose another one. Seahawks 34 Patriots 27
rooting for the seahawks and think they will outplay the pats overall. i dont think pats will be able to stop marshawn lynch but i do think they will contain wilson. new england should have gronk and all day and i think edelman will be effective but dont think they will be able to run. i think it comes down to last possession and unfortunately i see the pats pulling it off. but its close enough that one play could swing it for the seahawks. go hawks
Hawks 27-21 The Pats don't have the perimeter threats to stretch the field vertically or boundary-to-boundary. Wilson's a playmaker with his feet to the fire...I could actually see the Pats with a second half lead, only to lose it early 4th Q. I could see the Pats running this kind of personnel: Gronk, Edelman, Blount, Vereen, Wright/Hooman. Weird stuff, no perimeter WRs at all. They're going to have to be really creative to find space against this defense given their lack of outside playmakers. Or is their short/inside game just a natural way to avoid Sherman and Thomas? It should be real interesting. In the end I just think Seattle's a better team top-to-bottom. I thought they rightfully opened as favorites in Vegas.
