The most important front office news first: We've replaced Happy Flederson with Gus Waller as head of vending. We will be upgrading the food. And there will be no skittle-laced sausage.

"Beer will now be buy one get one free. I'm tired of these price gauges going on in these damn parks for beverages. It's a god damned beverage, not gold. So beer and sodas, yeah all that, buy one get one free. And bottled water? That's for stupid uppity ups that don't know football from their scrotum. Tap water lives on, *******s." -Gus Waller's initial statement.

In other news, Jason Michael has been hired to replace the vacated position by 2nd and Inches Let's Pass Yeah! as Offensive Coordinator. Dan Quinn was swiftly hired away and Ken Norton Jr. was promoted after assistant general manager Erik Hammer went to the players for their recommendations. He was the unanimous suggestion. Further, Craig SmiF has been replaced with Matt Hasselbeck and Rocky Seto has been replaced by former legend Cortez Kennedy.

yes, you've said? what's your point? He's mostly there to work with my qb. Pat Shurmur will be running the chip kelly offense.
Also, in 2005 his receivers where mostly coke-heads - Matt Jones and Jimmy smith - and crazies - Ernest Wilford.

And they still had the #12 offense that year.

I just think bringing up only his SEA stint marginalizes him. He's had a decent career, his O has finished top 10 in points 5 times, along with an 11th and 12th finish and I would have preferred him to Musgrave.

I'm certainly amused though that the team that plucked him was his last OC job. I'm easily amused though.

That said it doesn't much matter since he's more of a caretaker for you. It's interesting to note Shurmur's biggest asset is QB development too.

Certainly not trying to keep his past a secret - I mean the guy made Drew Bledsoe a pretty decent qb and Matt Leinert a Heisman trophy winner. We love Smith's ability with QB's, when reading up on him, we liked that he was able to work with each of the QB's individual skills instead of trying to fit each under an umbrella. I think watching Blake Bortles last year, you can tell he's smart, not a dear in headlights kind of guy. He worked with in what the defense was giving him. He's teachable, he has height, a strong arm and can beat you with his legs, we think we have a winner. Just needs some guidance.
That is one reason why we picked shurmur - We liked his qb development skills. We need Blake to blossom. If you read my lengthy write up on the Shurmur hire you'll see why we really like him. Aside from his work with chip kelly, his ability to teach was really a big reason.

Carl Smith has done an amazing job with Russell Wilson. What he does is recognize a QBs strengths and develop around them, not try and turn them into something he's not. You'll notice a huge emphasis on building our foundational players. Obviously having Shurmur and Smith points to how important we feel developing Blake Bortles the correct way is.
