I'd prefer we kept threads in the mains separate from each other. It makes it easier to moderate IMO.

Well, pretty sure this means we won't go after Suh and not sure what it means in regards to Danny Shelton.

I don't think it means either.

You want a defense that is really good at interior pressure, you have Suh and Odrick. Also Danny Shelton would be very helpful in that regard as well.

I'll be curious on the #s if/when it happens. If you're going to re-sign him, you'd certainly want him inked before Suh signs (wherever that is).

I do agree that we are not going to get Odrick, Shelton and Suh.

However it doesn't mean we aren't going to go after one or the other.

Have to remember, Mitchell is under contract as well...I think if you sign Odrick it takes you out of the Suh sweepstakes

Odrick would probably be a concession that they don't want to pay Suh what he's likely to get.

I'd tend to think they're still in the market for a 1-technique after this, though. Mike Tannenbaum is likely to want some weight at the position.

Hardy could fit in nicely at DE here, and his run defense is stronger than his pass rush. He can also reduce inside on obvious passing downs. I think his legal troubles are a bit overblown, and if Miami could wrestle him away that'd be fantastic.

Greg Hardy is someone the Dolphins need to do their due diligence and some soul-searching over, because he's one of the few guys who can play the Closed End in this defense like it's meant to be played. You basically need a 280+ pound guy who can still speed rush, and outside of Carlos Dunlap no one in Cincy, Miami, and Minnesota has been able to play the position worth a ****.

He's even a bit intriguing given he's likely to come at a relatively discounted price given his circumstances- I'm not sure the Dolphins are going to be willing to do a big outlay for Coyle to find his guy after bulking up Dion Jordan for the position flamed out.

How about if Starks were cut? Depending on how much Odrick gets, we could still go after Suh.

Why?! Ordinary Odrick is basically the Koa Misi of the DL...let him walk, there are a handful of upgrades in FA alone, and cheap ones in the draft.

    Dolphins Updates

DOLPHINS UPDATE: ANDREW ABRAMSON OF THE PALM BEACH POST IS REPORTING THAT THE FINS ARE WORKING ON NEW CONTRACTS FOR JARED ODRICK, MIKE POUNCEY, AND CHARLES CLAY. ALSO.. THE FINS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BRING BACK DT--RANDY STARKS, WHO WILL BE A CAP CASUALTY. ALSO THE FINS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO RE-SIGN RB--KNOWSHOWN MORENO--

News with Odrick, Pouncey, and Clay expected to all be back good, and Hickey meeting with Wallace, even better. Good all the way..

Now its pretty much a mortal lock that Randy Starks will be a
    ‪#‎Dolphins‬ Cap Casualty. However 2 players at DT-AJ Francis & A.Johnson there.

The future is beginning to come into better focus with how Tannenbum/Hickey are going to work out. Whether they argued to this stance or they both agreed to and liked it, I like the moves. On the surface it seems like an overall smart, responsible direction for those in play.

Totally disagree. Hartline was never a top 20 free agent or in his position. Odrick rated 19th in PFF for all defensive tackles. That is pretty good.

Odrick has given us four solids seasons at three different positions, he's earned a new contract and he's the type of guy that you keep around if at all possible when you're trying to build a consistent winner.

Took the words right out of my mouth, I will throw on top of that, he is also an up and coming leader and voice for the team. He might be the only guy that showed to have a pair of balls at the end of the year and let the coaches hear what they had coming.

More likely they've come to believe Suh is returning to Detroit, based on the information they have at hand.

As I posted in the Club, during the Super Bowl Mark Dominik tweeted that he believes Suh is returning to Detroit. Hickey is Dominik's top source for inside material, but I also believe the relationship goes the other way around. Regardless of the exact causal relationship, I believe the correlation between what Hickey thinks and what Dominik thinks is there.

Don't understand all the clamour for Suh. There's a lot the Dolphins need to do and Suh will demand an expensive contract. In addition he's almost the prototype for a rough around the edges player who wouldn't fit and that is especially the case after the scandal with incognito. Last thing they need is a player getting himself in trouble for injuring another player etc.

IMO we should be aiming to build through draft as much as possible and not sell the farm in FA again.

I am 99.99999% sure Good ole boy Jerry Richardson and the Panthers will not be bringing Hardy back. It's a foregone conclusion here in Charlotte.....I'd bring him in no doubt for a 1 year "show me" deal. With a team option for year 2 or something.

I agree with that... Suh may be a great player, but he has the common sense of a plow mule and the temperament of my ex-mother-in-law! Bad combination!

Nope, I don't think you can spend on Suh regardless of starks being cut and us signing odrick..your talkin 20 million at the least on two tackles...

    Am I reading something wrong?

Looking at these stats Odrick is average. What would signing Suh have anything to do with an average tackle like Odrick?
