Just wondering, as far as Brandon Marshall is concerned, he is a ERFA and I was told couldn't be moved. Can someone clarify that for me?
It was lopsided......but as long as the other side and GIK accepts it. No foul. Hell in my 2nd year I still made the odd boneheaded trade. For me I'm not a fan of injured players. Luckily for me others are. I love those guys *hugs his Whitner for Lee trade*
Amen to that man. Hell, there have been more lopsided trades this year. Won't point them out because I think it's tasteless to comment on other people's trades, but they're out there.
Come 'em coming, buddy. I love all the critics. Tasteless is that trade, an absolute steaming pile of disgusting garbage.
I don't think its tasteless so long as its respectful. "I think so and so won this trade" seems fine but "Wow he took advantage of that guy" is a bit rude.
Let's get a deal done guys. I'm actively shopping Carson Palmer, Fitz, Rashad Johnson, and Darnell Dockett. I know they might have a high cap number, but again I'll be willing to take on a player(s) that has a high cap number on your team to kind of even out the cap number...so you aren't taking on the complete salary cap number.. hit me up guys. I'm looking to make a deal.
Heh I remember 2 years ago when I traded for David. Teflon begged for 2 weeks afterwards to reverse it. I took pity on him and did....rookie mistake ;p The bucs trade Michael Koenen, P, $3,250,00.00 Lavonte David, LB, $547,081.00 pick 1.13 The bills trade Shawn Powell, P, $481,000.00 pick 1.8 pick 3.73 pick 4.118 pick 4.124 Don't ask me why punters were involved. I can't remember why he wanted to do that. I'd say bdog gave up more. I effectively nailed Teflon for 2 3's and 2 4's.
It's not rude, it's up front and honest. Don't subdue what you really feel, or else you are only disappointing yourself. Anyways, I still stick to my focus and say that I feel bad for the Bucs GM, I really do. Not my business, but hey, the Bengals lost one customer.
Nothing more then a former GM of the year matched on a rookie. It wasn't that bad. FFG's drunk trade was much worse last year.
so my understanding is that erfa's can be moved. The understanding I have is that the Erfa has to be tendered at the $585,000 tender and the original team automatically resigns him. He can then be dealt but you take the full 585k cap hit.
Can we stop bringing up 2014? It tilts me soooooo hard that those Rams were so overlooked. Let's continue with Sean calling out the Bungles pls
I didn't mind the trade personally but to each their own. I think Atkins will return to his top 3 dominant form in 2015 considering he played the full 2014 season after tearing an ACL in week 9 of 2013. Considering you'll have an interior line of Gerald McCoy and Geno Atkins? I think that's pretty damn good.
It's wrong to go out of your way to belittle someone about a trade, but it's ok to be honest and think it's a terrible trade. I try to be tactful if I was talking about someone's moves, but if I write as Peter Kiper I take an objective view where I have to get into character to break down a trade in the manner of a know it all who thinks he's twisting popular opinion into what he thinks is outside the box thinking. As long as Sean doesn't get into name calling and attacking personally it should be fine with him talking about what he thinks is a bad trade. He's guilty of his own, and if he can take his lumps he might as well be as honest as possible.
I don't think it's a bad trade if my opinion means anything... but I think the impact that he and McCoy would have will increase the level of everyone else substantially. I felt that Atkins and David pretty much negate one another from a value standpoint however I think Atkins will have a greater impact. Now if the Bucs trade away McCoy, I'll change my mind on that. I guess it comes down to a 2nd for Jones and Smith... I think a high 2nd is worth more than those two players but I certainly won't condemn someone for thinking otherwise. I would probably value them together as a 2nd round pick anyways (but I won't give up a 2nd round pick for them, if that makes sense). I'm done talking about this trade though... I don't think it warranted the criticism it got especially considering some of the other deals made but to each their own.
I agree with that, too. My issues are 1. Saying that there is "collusion" is an unfair, untrue and extreme allegation and 2. Publicly stating that he won't do business with us simply because of a trade result could potentially sway public opinion. That's all, just not a fan of bashing people one way or the other.
Not trying to get on you for it. Its your opinion and that's cool and fine. I'm just saying what I am because I've been on both ends of trades and will continue to be in the future. The deal wasn't terrible, it has potential. Also sometimes I know I will make a "bad" trade because I have someone in line to replace that guy I'm moving and maybe need cap room or whatever. We've all been there.
Am I literally the only one who seen the trade and just thought "Damn, they gave up David... but Atkins and McCoy would wreck havoc on any line so who cares?"
I would potentially be interested in that, but I believe the rules state that you cannot do that this year.

Hey, I'm not bashing, I'm just saying. I'd say it again if I have to. Public opinion doesn't bother me, they are going to assume regardless. Voting should be impartial, usually it is not, but I'm ok with that. Constructive criticism, my friend.
