From the renderings I have seen it looks like it is everything between the goal lines that is being moved closer (or, more accurately, where they are adding closer seats).

some of the images in that video were cool, the corners where the tunnels are are gonna have more seats then I thought, theres gonna be some rows below the scoreboards in the upper deck..

last row at th bottom will be at the same height, just a higher grade, and closer 25 feet clear to the field, the whole 100 section..precast..

funny how the suits never talk about what I talk about...

likens and conjemi don't even ask the right questions.

Not sure if anyone here is in the know... But wasn't one of the reasons to do the renovations to be able to host Super Bowls? I am 90% sure that is what I remember it being sold as. Garfinkel mentioned it on the Insiders yesterday. Well one thing he said yesterday bugged me. He said the reduced seating capacity was going to be something like 65k. IF that is the case, then we can not host a SB. Found this article http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24584008/nfl-super-bowl-host-city-bid-specifications-and-requirements-leaked that then references this document http://www.documentcloud.org/documents/1184220-20140605190910.html#document/p36.

IF that document is legit, we are going to hose ourselves. Because on page 17, it says the Seating capacity has to be a minimum of 70,000 for regular season games.

That has been a concern of mine all along. I'm happy about the renovations, but I'm not sure the reduction in capacity is really a good thing at all.

I've never understood the reasoning behind reducing capacity to begin with, especially with the blackout rules all but dead. Even if you have 10,000 empty seats for half the games, so what? It "looks bad on TV"? That seems to be the common refrain. Who cares?

maybe someone can tweet garfinkle about that Super Bowl stipulation..

They could always add a few more rows even closer to the field.

wonder how many seats are in one row in one full revolution of the field..

I would probably say you could add five more rows and have it covered...plus you would be enhancing the home field advantage in the process.

I've been assuming they've been in contact with the league about this and have an understanding about it. I can't imagine they'd be dumb enough to proceed with a $400+ million renovation that literally eliminates any chance of hosting another Super Bowl.

It's also for "looks bad in person". If the stadium "feels" full, you're going to have a much better atmosphere than if you have the same amount of people in a bigger stadium.

For instance, 20k for the Marlins in Sunlife vs 20k in their new stadium. One is going to feel a lot more packed and exciting, creating a better and more impactful environment than having the same number of fans with extra empty seats.

As far as the capacity thing... I'd be FLOORED if all of our changes weren't already approved by the league to put us back in contention for Super Bowls. I'd find it highly unlikely that they would be making any change that would unknowingly remove us from Super Bowl eligibility. Getting Super Bowls back is one of the main points of this whole thing...

I wonder if single game pricing is the same. I'd definately shell out $110 for a lower level sideline ticket. I spent almost that much on Stubhub for the ones in the upper level I got in 2007.

its really nice..what I like most is that its not like some huge mammoth of a stadium like the new ones, its original, very south florida, should provide good light and vibe, and about 20 to 25,000 seats got moved 25 feet closer to the field..and they got rid of all that ugly *** orange...

i find myself staring at the pics for long periods of time..im not normal..

I hope it ends up as nice as it looks in the pictures. I usually make it a point to go to one Dolphins game a year. I think in 2015 I'm going to hope the schedules align to where I can drive down to Univ. of Tennessee and catch a game there then make it to the Dolphins @ Titans game the next day.

In 2016, I'm going to a game in Miami for the new stadium. Got that booked and I'm catching LSU @ Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.

I've been to two Packers games. As a football fan in general, it's gotta be on your bucket list to go to Lambeau. I saw them play in 2008 during Favre's last year there. They blew out Minnesota 34-0 and it was awesome. Also saw Miami beat them 23-20 in OT in 2010.

Of the stadiums I've been to, the only one that rates close is Lucas Oil just because the place is so nice. Lambeau still ranks number one for me. Friendly, knowledgeable fans, good beer, good atmosphere. My buddy and I paid $10 and parked in some guys front yard literally across the street. His wife had kegs and eggs out back. Unless you're a Bears or Vikings fan, they're generally very nice to you. Can't say that about the other venues I've been to.

what i don't like from the pics above is the incredible amount of space from the bottom of the upper deck to the first row of the lower deck, that has to be bridged with seats somehow.

    1) The area DJ wants to bridge with seats, cannot be done. Period. Without a full demo of the stadium. The press boxes are in that ring, hence no seats. They were built that way instead of way up high because the combo use stadium that SLS used to be. Below the empty ring of press boxes, are the suites. Don't want to eliminate premium seats because that is how ownership makes enough money to keep the rest of the stadium "reasonably" priced. You cannot cantilever the seats over the edge from the upper deck over the lower deck without a complete rebuild of the structure of the stadium.

    2) The orange section in the photo is one of the endzones.

    3) columns are likely existing supports that will be used for the precast sections to rebuild the lower bowl.
