Dragic is what, 28? Might be a mistake for him, too. Tho he'll be signing before new TV deals so maybe his next deal would be inflated even if he underperformed.
The price probably includes taking Danny Granger. Don't see the big deal on Granger. He should be real easy to dump next year, and it's not impossible he opts out anyway
LeBatard saying that Phoenix asked the Heat for a package centered on Whiteside. Dragic then went scorched Earth at practice saying that he doesn't trust the Suns and does not want to play anymore
I think that Lebby was fed that by an interested party. I know for a fact that "insulting" offers are not made in professional sports.
I don't think Whiteside can even be traded under the CBA, which Phoenix should've known, not that we would've made the move anyway. I like Dragic a lot but he's not on the very short list of players I would trade Whiteside for. LeBatard doesn't seem to think we can make anything work for Dragic, though that's just his opinion, but with Goran scorching the Suns today (see that pun), let's see the landscape tomorrow. Bomani Jones made a good point that lifestyle seems to make a big difference to him, so if he makes a big enough stink, PHX might have no choice but to take whatever the best is of the Heat/NYK/Lakers slop and like it
CK...tune in tomorrow...people in League Circles are expecting 2011 all over again...so they are thinking in excess of 10 trades tomorrow.
Yeah, Lebby clarified that he was told that PHX would want something "like that" meaning something the Heat wouldn't do. So, we'll see. Dragic and his agent have 24 hours to make life very difficult for PHX and it's plenty of time to get these other teams to drop out. I mean, why are the Kings even bothering? Boston I get to some extent. They might actually believe they have a chance to convince him.
Broussard's "sources" telling him Dragic is likely to end up in Boston. Cross Boston off the list. Boston makes no sense logically. They just traded a 29 year old PG in favor of a rookie and now a month later they want to trade for a different 29 year old PG? Stupid
Gonna be a letdown when the Heat's only activity tomorrow is trading Norris Cole for a bucket of fried chicken.
I know who Chris Mannix talks too..and he reports that Boston is dead as a trade partner for Dragic.....
Ken berger is saying that Minnesota may buy out Kevin Martin. If we trade for Dragic, and can put Martin into the McBob DPE, now we really have something.
The Pentagon should just put the Knicks on the front line. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...elo-anthony-new-york-knicks-ruled-rest-season
Awesome write-up by Sports Illustrated on Harden. http://www.si.com/nba/2015/02/18/james-harden-houston-rockets-mvp-midseason-report Now, let's get him some damn help tomorrow.
And a bigot. I'm pretty shocked this guy still has a job and a bigger deal was not made of his anti-gay crusade.
Do you expect the Heat to make a move? I mean other than Cole for a 2nd, or something similar. I would like the Heat to make a move one way or the other. I'm not sure if I'd rather them land a big fish like Dragic, or a guy like Isaiah Thomas or Reggie Jackson. The latter two are not as good, but are probably a much smaller commitment.
I find it odd that he didn't spell it Memfis. He just completely ignored the H. Lol.. this is a guy with an English degree by the way... it doesn't say much for the education in Oberlin College.
Now a Suns "insider" on RealGM (he seems to have credibility over there) is saying that the Celtics dropped out of the bidding and so did the Kings, who pulled out after Dragic refused to speak to George Karl. The Rockets are also not being that aggressive. There's only 3 teams left.
Brilliant reporting here by Marc Spears: Per sources everyone on Heat available except Wade, Bosh and Whiteside. What a scoop!!! Schmolioot sources: everyone on Golden State available except Curry, Thompson, Green and Bogut. You heard it here first!
I still find it totally unbelievable that when someone mentions untouchable players for the Heat, a player that was playing in the D-League 3 months ago is mentioned among them. What an unreal story.
I dont blame him for not talking to George Karl. Sacramento is only second to Cleveland as the most boring city in the country. I would know ive been there.
It's not earth-shattering, but I think it's relevant to know that Deng is available in these trade discussions.
Ty Lawson officially available, they want George Hill though. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...-trade-deadline-nears-nuggets-eye-george-hill
All right, this comes from Broussard's "sauces" on Mike & Mike but he said flat out that Dragic will not re-sign with Boston, Houston, Sacramento or Indiana and all those teams are basically out. The Lakers aren't offering much and aren't that motivated as they'd rather just try and sign him in the of season. Knicks are offering Hardaway and Calderon. Heat offer unknown but there have been proposals. Thinks he either gets traded to Heat or Knicks, or doesn't get traded at all and they see if they can work things out. Supposedly Sarver, the owner, doesn't want to reward the blatant disrespect Dragic showed yesterday by trading him, since then everybody who acts up thinks they can get traded.
Woj Bomb: Sacramento "increasingly hesitant" about dealing with Phoenix due to Dragic's insistence he will never re-sign there. At 2:50 today, Josh McRoberts, Shabazz Napier and a future pick is likely to be their best deal. The Godfather may strike again. The NBA's last gangster pimp.
It is starting to sound like Sarver is not going to make a move, the Kings offered 2 first round picks and Staukus and then backed off because Goran said he wont sign with them. So Sarver is pissed and is willing to keep him on the team and lose his for nothing. Which doesnt make sense but this guy isnt the brightest bulb, i can make a list of blunders he has made the past 5 years that is embarassing.
That pride rarely stands in the way of a deal. Even Cleveland and Toronto agreed to sign and trades to get something for LBJ and Bosh. And Goran Dragic isn't on the level of those guys and his leaving won't devastate the Suns franchise. Get what you can for him and move on.
Flip side is that Dragic will be 33 in 4 yrs. Giving up that guaranteed 5th year to sign somewhere else is probably a mistake in pure $$$ terms. The sign and trades that Miami did for Bosh/LeBron don't exist anymore. I think Dwight and LeBron (to CLE) are only guys to ever turn down the 5th year to sign somewhere else.
Broussard: 2 first round picks are part of Heat's offer for Dragic. Sarver's reluctance to give in to Dragic's demand the only hold up right now. McBob and 2 future firsts? Sign me up.
