Jeez man. Cool down and keep your wits about you. Let insurance handle this one. Get a police report though. No. You're probably thinking about some other form of "rear-ending". Got footage?
got laid off today. Add that to the already ****ty month. Makes it all but guaranteed the Patriots win the super bowl
I'm sorry to hear that dude. I've been there. It's rough. The silver lining though is at least the economy is getting better. When I got laid off back in 2010, the recession was bottoming out. I'm just now starting to make decent money after weathering the crappy economy the past few years. So at least there's a lot more jobs available at the moment. Keep your head up man, you'll get another job soon, hopefully for more money than you make now.
don't worry man, you got this ****. my step mother has been going through a similar situation that your mom did, but i am a pats fan so i don't have a heart. the worst part is she was/is the care taker for my elderly father who is pretty much incompetent due to a stroke in 2013. they still live in NH and i'm in NC. i've been working around the clock to get him down here but i can't bring myself to take him away from her. it's been really difficult.
Jt and McLovin. So sorry to hear about your struggles and misfortune. Hang in there and keep the faith.
Ugh, I'm just sore enough today from shoveling snow for first time this year, now bracing for the potential 2 feet of snow tomorrow. No way I'm going into work tomorrow (company is in South Boston).
So yesterday, after about 5 years of hell with my dad becoming paralyzed due to doctor error, moving him to Ocala from Macon, becoming his primary caregiver, both of us battling depression over it, him becoming self sufficient, winning his court case, and delay after delay after clerical error after delay.......he finally got his driver's license and is free again. He can drive himself to where ever he wants now and I'm also free of the responsibility of having to do it for him. We have reached the finish line.
Wow, that's remarkable. You just don't hear too many of those stories finishing with an ending like that. congrats to both of you.
Never would have happened if he hadn't won his case though. Because he did, he was able to buy the right chair, make his house more accessible and buy a very pimp handicap van with all the things he needs that allows him to drive (ramp, hand controls, the van lowers when the ramp goes down, a driver seat that backs all the way up to his chair so he transfer, remote start because it takes a bit to transfer and this is FL so you need the AC going, plus all kinds of stuff). And I forgot, this is all after the whole necrotic bowel issue that kept in the ICU for a month, in October. He's a tough old bastard.
so the doctors went in for a necrotic bowel issue and nicked the spinal cord? how did he get paralyzed?
No, two different things. 5 years ago he went in for a stenosus, that incision from that surgery got infected and when they opened him back up to clean it out, and he woke up from that second surgery paralyzed. The necrotic bowel happened last October.
I've been sitting here wondering if moving from Macon to Ocala is an upgrade, downgrade or more a lateral move. Macon blows. We have a hospital near there and hate traveling there. did this happen at MCCG, Tony?
Coliseum. Worst hospital I've had the displeasure of visiting. Its a lateral move. While Ocala is smaller and has more "podunk-ery", its still not Georgia. So its a wash. As a side note: If anyone, god forbid, ends up with a loved one with a spinal injury, do ANYTHING you can to get them to Shepherd Center in Atlanta. http://www.shepherd.org When my Dad went there 2 weeks after the botched surgery and he couldn't move his arms or legs and had the head gear on (only his wasn't screwed in to his skull): While he was there I could visit him and stay in their hotel suites for free. I could call them after he left with questions or for help navigating the ridiculously horrible world of home care or to find supplies. By the time he left 3 months later he could move his arms and use his right hand to do minor things like feed himself, etc. Now 5 years after becoming paralyzed he can fully take care of himself and ....drive.
Congrats, FinD. Good for your dad. I know there is a lot of difference in opinion when it comes to politics, or football or any other life matters on this board (hello, POFO) but stuff like this is always good to see. No matter on what we disagree on we are all human beings. So congrats, man. Also, this is getting wimply. **** all of you.
How about this. I have irrefutable proof there is no god. Spoiler Yup that's Dane Cook, with his own two Lambos.
that's just wrong that a stand up comedian that I had to look up on bing has those two in his garage.
Had to euthanize my dog today. I've had many dogs, euthanized a few in my time, this was the best. perfect dog in every way. Stryder - 13 years old. You try to keep it together in the vets office, but when they have that stethoscope on the dogs chest and look up at you and tell you he's gone, you lose it. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm271/micclark1313/stryder_zps3mu3xjux.jpg
This is what we are doing in the northeast right now......No bs.....
how much snow have you gotten down in RI? we're about at 90 inches in the past month in Boston. pretty crazy
Me too. I last had to put a pet down when I was a teenager, and it really broke me up. Our dog is 14, so he only has so much time left too. He spends most of his time just laying on his bed these days.
Its no fun, but make sure you don't let him go past a good quality of life because you're scared of the pain. Not saying you would.
It's tough. I have two more dogs. one of which is similar age to yours - 14 1/2. same laying around and getting fat. I give her another year at most. She'll be the third dog I've put down in the last 7 years. It sucks, doesn't get easier at all, but still worth it to keep such good company.
we've been trying to put FinD down for years. Little bastard just keeps bouncing back, almost as tough as Zombie Cat.
My town is at 79'' thus far, you guys are getting buried though....MBTA down for a month? thats nuts....I live 15 minutes outside of the Worcester in the snowbelt.... I want to make love to the person who invented the snow thrower......
