Shaq made about 42 million which his play did not match with his salary on the final 2 years of a Heat contract and he was headed to 36-37..

    33 isnt that old..

If we're giving 2 future firsts, then Deng can't be part of the deal.

If they want Deng, the rest of the compensation is less.

Dragic/Wade/Deng/Bosh/Whiteside is a team that can get to the ECF if healthy.

If we can also pick up Gary Neal or Dellavadova type for Cole, that makes us even better

    no ****.

My point is he can be productive at 33. And with the rising cap 20 mill is going to be equivalent to 16 at 33. Shaq would barely try at the last two years when he was one of the highest paid players in the league.

Sounds to me like a whole lot of nothing is going to happen today.

Except for the aforementioned Norris Cole for a bucket of chicken tenders deal.

Again, can we stick Granger into this deal somehow? Tell them we'll toss in some coupons to Denny's.

There's a snag in the Cole deal. Supposedly they aren't guaranteeing all-white meat.

I'm a Cavs fan - I remember Old Shaq well haha.

I guess my point is more that Dragic isn't a GREAT player now. He's really good - but in 4 yrs he'll already be declining, and if he suffers any sort of major injury, he's giving up $20mil. It's a giant risk for him.

Right now he holds a lot of the cards. But if you're Boston and you call his bluff - imagine this summer Dragic having to stare that decision in the face.

My guess is one of those first round picks is heavily protected. I mean four years from now Wade is gone, Bosh is way past his prime, Riley is on a wheelchair.

Eh, ill take it. Ill take a chance at getting to the ECF the next two seasons than wait four years for some players to retire and rebuild.

Afflalo/Gee traded to Portland for a future lottery protected 1st and 2nd and salary flotsam.

2 firsts more than fair for dragic

By the way no team will give Goran the max lol you will see when his salary becomes something around 15 mill per.

Per Suns beat writer Paul Coro, team flight to Minneapolis moved back to 1:30 Phoenix time, half hour after deadline. Don't want traded players on the plane and in the air.

This is happening. Maybe not to Heat, but it's happening

I'm imagining fans in Cleveland or wherever Cole is being considered a target kind of sitting on the edge of their seats today, awaiting news that Cole is theirs.

    Nor-ris Cole! Nor-ris Cole! Nor-ris Cole!

    This amuses me.

I don't know about that. An NBA player's prime is usually 28-32. Players that play a more finesse game like Dragic could conceivably be longer. You'd be getting his prime years for most of that contract and probably not a huge decline, if any in the last year.

Ethan made the point that Pat Riley has been very consistent in his 20 year career in Miami, not giving two sh-ts about the draft and pouncing whenever a player is unhappy somewhere (e.g. Zo, Shaq, Tim, Mash).

That's the game Riley likes to play.

It's why that 2 firsts offer sounds legit to me.

Well one thing for sure, that Dragic/Isaiah Thomas chemistry is out the window. I mean a week ago Dragic's stance was either trade him or trade me. So someone is getting traded.

What? Cavs fans shouldn't be excited about a home town kid who is fresh off winning 2 championships in the last 3 years returns home?

Berger tweeting that right now, no Dragic deal is in place and that one official involved (has to be McDonough or somebody else in PHX) told him "the clock is ticking"

Not surprising. These things almost always go to the last minute, see if anybody blinks

Calderon's contract is worse than McBob's even though it ends sooner.

There's a guy on the RealGM Heat board claiming that Riley and Dragic's reps are talking contract now and that if Riley's comfortable, we'll make the deal.

Veracity not verified but seems to have some juice over there. I'm so used to legitimate guys like Sec, CK, Boomer, etc., that it's hard to believe anybody else, lol

Someone on RGM said Riley is talking contract with Goran, not sure if it's legitimate. Maybe the Suns are waiting for us to pull the trigger on the 2 first round picks after that talk is over?

If it comes down that we actually grab him for just two first round picks.. Next season with McRoberts back, man we're going to be deep as **** in talent.. Add in possibility of getting Kevin Martin if he gets bought out....

Just need to somehow get Granger out of here.. I don't care if Cole stays and expires so long as he doesn't play another minute of Heat basketball.

Total joke. Cavs fans are completely meh on the idea. Though watching Dellevadova play PG anymore might drive some of them to mad.

But I do advertising for Cleveland State's basketball team, so this would be a boon for me. NOR-RIS COLE! NOR-RIS COLE!!

I don't think McBob's contract is bad at all. He's a solid player and he's not making very much. Calderon's deal is awful.

It was Norris Cole's head photoshopped on the LeBron "I'm Coming Home" cover.

Ok, to be fair, it was done in MS Paint, so the quality was pretty spectacular.

I never seen a scrub draw so much trade interests like Norris Cole has, now OKC wants him. What the ****, maybe we shouldn't trade him.. maybe we've been mis-using him this whole time lol

Norris Cole brings championship pedigree — he’s missed out on the title only once in his career. (2 for 3).

I'm not sure if this guy is being serious.. lol
