hahahah i keep thinking of the snickers commercial where the football player has a concussion and keeps saying "im batman"
It was a pretty fair trade honestly. #1 to #14 was a huge drop and I needed Bortles to make it happen as I cant start Pat Devlin. I cant personally help whether they take a WR, QB or Punter with the pick. That is their decision.
All depends on a person's opinion of Bortles. To the believers you win...to the non believers you don't. It's one of those wait 2 years for the answer bits.
I mean for all you know...someone else may already have a deal in place if a lil some some works out..still plenty of time on that tick tock
Do you really need it answered to pull out the trusty 'ole sock and create the requisite mental image?
One perspective on the shake up in 1-2 is that FinO is in a win-win situation. If the Jaguars take Jameis they made what can be considered a lateral move (upgrade depends on who you ask) to get the first QB off the board after getting the first QB off the board last year, and FinO still ends up with his man Kevin White. If the Jaguars go Kevin White then the Titans solved their QB situation (then again this is the same situation FinO nabbed Gabbert over Newton) and the Stephen Morris era in Jacksonville begins, or they spend more resources solving the biggest hole in any roster, but the get a WR for noone to throw to. Meanwhile Denver gets their potential heir in Bortles and can land a number of good prospects at 14 because some will be taken higher then they should have and value will more than likely slide. Oh yeah, BK still gets to shed some tears.
Also, i wasnt Jax's GM last year, or i would have drafted a different QB. I hired Shurmur - he brings with him chip kelley's offense....things that make you go hmmmm
Oh yeah then why can't I TRADE HARTLINE! It's cruel really. Also this trade makes 0 sense. Jacksonville doesn't have a QB and they're taking a elite WR. Who the **** is throwing the ball? Boggles my mind hopefully Winston falls to 3 so I can trade Tannehill because you guys are redonk.
I'm sure he's learned a lot and would bring in wrinkles from Chip's offense. I thought Kelly was the play caller in Philadelphia, but you can't ignore his record with the Browns especially when he walked into a similar situation (now more than before) where he didn't have a QB. If it's a non-Winston pick at 1, your QB will be measured to what could have been with Bortles and Winston.
