Players I am positive will be gone: Winston Mariotta - not a captain Kevin White - Leonard Williams - Randy Gregory - Danny Shelton - Brandon Scherf - Vic Beasly - Amari Cooper - captain Trae Waynes - not Players I'm not sure will be gone: Shane Ray - Captain Landon Collins - Captain. Devante Parker - not Arik Armstead Eddie Goldman Dante Fowler Like everyone I'm just trying to figure out who will be there at #14. I really don't think we trade up, but I wouldn't be surprised if we trade down. Thoughts? You would think it would be easier to look up team captains for schools. Sheesh.
Good list. Like every year, I'm cheering for players we absolutely aren't going to draft to go early. This year that of course means QBs, DEs and OTs (unless we planned on turning him into a OG). That accounts for about half of your list. There are of course also a lot of different ways that the Fins can go this year and not be wrong/stupid, since we have a lot of needs. To me, pending UFA of course, OG and DT are the biggest needs, followed by MLB and CB. However, taking a great value at WR is something I'd be very happy with as well.
Outstanding group you got there 77 but something tells me one or more will fall to us. And I can't stress enough how much I want us to stay at 14 and not drop down. Quality over quantity.
Cooper will definitely be gone by our pick as well. Im hoping a team bites on Devante Parker that way we dont get pressured into taking him. I see MIN maybe grabbing Parker if White and Cooper are already gone that way Bridgewater and Parker can play together again. I see that as a best case scenario for Parker as I dont think he is all that good.
I agree with shame on Parker - don't want him at 14. I actually think Ray will be there at our pick; his position/fit could make him fall, maybe even further towards 20. I'm guessing Fowler and Beasley will be gone, as will Landon Collins. As a side note, I really like Bud Dupree, alot. But...Dion Jordan...errghh
He put up some crazy numbers for a guy 6'4", 269. Forty of 4.56, 42" vertical and 138" broad jump, all tops at his position. His position is listed as a OLB, but his he a DE?
Any chance that we can just 're-incarnate Vern den Herder and Bill Stanfill? I dream of one day the Miami Dolphins have 2 DE' s like them again.
Your "positive" list is too long. Danny Shelton could be available, as could Vic Beasley or even Brandon Scherff. The guys I am pretty sure will be gone include Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Leonard Williams, Kevin White, Randy Gregory and Dante Fowler. Everyone after that is up in the air. From picks #5 to #13 who goes where could be about needs and fits. I could see Trae Waynes coming off the board, Amari Cooper, Danny Shelton, Shane Ray, Vic Beasley, Andrus Peat, Ereck Flowers, Brandon Scherff and/or Landon Collins. Maybe toss in a DeVante Parker, Arik Armstead, maybe even a Eric Kendricks.
My list of players with no chance of making it to #14: QB Winston QB Mariota WR Cooper WR White DE Wiliams DE Gregory CB Trae Waynes I put Waynes in there because of the scarcity of top CB talent in this draft. I think this is the year that the OT's slide, and of course its the year where its not a priority for us.
I believe the tackles drop as well. For me its like this. #1 Mariota #2 Winston #3 Williams #4 White #5 - #13 can go in any direction but the players i feel won't make it out are: Cooper, Waynes, Gregory, Shelton (wash or chi my prediction), Scherff (I can imagine somehow not a single T being taken in the top 13 this year), Ray, Collins, Fowler, Beasley. Don't be surprised if Miami bites on Parker.
Their new coach (good hire imo} has stated he's in love with carr and they really don't have much at wide receiver, they have a running back their high on, but i'd bet he wants to hedge his bet and give the kid some real talent to throw to.. kevin white should be a raider.
I hope so, they went defense with Mack last year, they have James Jones, Andre Holmes, and Denarious Moore as their top 3 receivers.. why do you think they will go defense?
There are a few special defensive players in this draft. There are many receivers they can still get in the 2nd round. Plus there is still free agency. It wouldn't surprise me if they get Cobb and/or Thomas.
