This video is sick. Makes you really excited!
what the hell is that at 1:20 in the video..there are two whole sections in the most critical part of the seating in the lower bowl for noise, that looks like club seats or some sh*&.. thats ridiculous if thats real.
Yeh..thats the new living room style seats Dude...if we are winning....wont matter. That place will be loud as hell with that roof on.
You know what I thought of when I saw that... Here we are the Miami Dolphins. We have aqua to symbolize water.....we have an aquatic Mammal as our Mascot, Yet not ONE WATER FEATURE in the stadium.
How cool would it be if we had real dolphins swimming around somewhere in the stadium. We'd be the talk of the NFL if we did that
DJ... you were just discussing this 2 weeks ago, remember? lol http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...ing-Luxury-quot-Living-Room-Suites-quot/page2 These are the 2 "robin hood" sections that are going to cost a fortune that help make the other seats a lot more affordable. I completely disagree that they are in the most critical part of the field, as they are closer to mid-field and not near the red zone which is a much more critical area. Its going to mean roughly a few hundred less fans overall in a lower bowl that is going to be holding 30,000+. I don't see it impacting the overall noise of the stadium much at all...
I think it's fine as is. Start getting too carried away and they might wind up with some bizarre art-deco piece like whatever-that-is in left-center field of Marlins Stadium.
P I've never seen those seats until this video, really, it's ridiculous to plant those seats right in the middle of the action when they could have at least another 1 or 2 thousand folks right on top of the action... Just don't like it that's all..sorry, don't wanna rain on the parade, but it just bothers the hell out of me..
DJ... if it were "at least another 1 or 2 thousand folks"... you may be right. But you aren't doing your math correctly. Its only on 1 sideline, and is a difference of only 480 people in a lower bowl that is going to house 30-35K alone.
We had this back in the glorious Orange Bowl days. Flipper had a tank in the open end zone of the stadium and would be moved from the Miami Seaquarium to that tank on game days. Due to the stress that process put on the animal however the practice was discontinued. Was pretty cool though while it lasted.
So I see posts talking about the seating being moved closer but I have my doubts on this. If you remember, the stadium seating was made wider in order to accommodate Soccer events which have a wider field of play apparently. Attracting International soccer games is a highlight featured on the stadium improvement video. So if attracting these soccer events is still part of the plan then how could they be moving the seats closer as we'd all like them to?
Literally watch any of the videos posted by the dolphins, tweets from Garfinkel, or subject material put out to season ticket holders. The seating plans are clearly laid out. They aren't removing and re-doing the lower bowl in order to keep the seats where they are.
A soccer field is about 7 yards wider than a football field. Football teams use more than 3.5 yards just for their gear. Edit: I meant to quote your previous post.
Exactly and if you watch the video (around the 2:35 mark) you can see how the soccer field extends over the football field sidelines.
I wasnt talking about having live Dolphins in fact, I personally abhor the idea. But some sort of really cool water features outside of the main stadium would be more what Im thinking. At Sea World they project HD images on a sheet of water spray...or the jumping fountains like what you see at Epcot.
That scene when Tanny comes out of the tunnel and it looks like hes entering the new stadium..fap o rammaaaa
if I'm being honest Nasty, no, it doesn't help, I think taking away that part of the stands for that type of seating goes against everything that this should be about, and thats creating the best home field advantage possible, because thats whats ultimately going to make more money, a competitive advantage..this does not help, it only takes away.. That priority seems to of been lost when making this decision.
I think we should just leave the stadium just like this. NO SEATS. All concrete. Now that's building a tough, blue collar atmosphere.
Make the lower bowl standing room only and give out free beer until halftime. Place would make the Roman Coliseum look like Sunday school.
I get that its a "principal" thing. But, in reality, you believe a difference of 480 fans in the lower bowl that will hold 30,000 fans will make a noticeable impact?
i think it's a distraction, I think it looks terrible, I think it sends the wrong message, and I Think it's stupid because it goes against the core reason for doing this remodel of the lower bowl.. The venue is going to get all the main events it wants because of the roof and modernization, superbowls, college championships, etc..they didn't need to fu@& with our part..it looks absolutely ridiculous, and should be made fun of at every opp.
Yeah, soccer and baseball made the stadium way too wide. The upper decks on each sideline are still very far from the field.
A distraction to who? The players? The fans? Who is distracted and how? What is "terrible looking" about it? You think the seats look ugly or something? They look luxurious... its not like that Marlins homerun statue?
I LIKE. What about pee troughs down the isles ago fans have no excuse to ever leave the action. Said troughs should also all flow toward the visiting sidelines. And beer taps every 40 feet in all sections. Also, feed cannons during every pause or commercial break?
You don't even need pee troughs if it's for international soccer (esp. with Central American teams). They just bring their own urine bags to throw at opposing players.
