No one has Todd Money. I am interested to see how he spends it but knowing Todd he has a spreadsheet of the FA he is targeting and how much he will spend.
about $58 million in cap room, but it is not artificially inflated by teams that have cut their roster down to a size of 32/53. I have that much space with a roster size of about 47/53.
is that with draft picks factored in? With draft picks factored in i have about 45 and currrent roster size - 47 or so
That's fine. I'm factoring in not having that money already anyway because I know no one is going to match it.
Looking at the timeline, we are having free agency open two weeks before you can bid on a tagged player or an RFA? Why is that? That doesn't make any sense. If a team has that money set aside for a tagged player, they won't have a chance to use that money to replace the player if they're signed by another team as most of the good FAs will already be gone.
The deadline to sign an offer sheet is a month later, but you can make offers to a player at any point during FA in the NFL can't you? I don't remember that ever being how we do it in the GML. Seems like it would make a lot more sense to make that first.
yeah... perhaps a better way would be to have the start date be when FA starts, but the end date be just before the draft? I don't know...
Just dropped the re-sign bombshell. DeMarco Murray and Rolando McClain both up for grabs in this portion. Open those wallets wide!
12 games (potentially) of Rolando McClain, who at one point wanted to pull an Aaron Hernandez? For 8.75 mil? No thanks lol.
You watch. I put him at a number I'd take him back at, but I am in no way confident that he will stay as such. LB's have been trading for insane amounts this season, Weak draft for ILB's and some folks got a crap load of cash. He also played very well in the 14+ games he did play in.
It worked fine last year in Mach's league. Any concerns about this should have been brought up... like not the day before the re-sign portion (which is basically unrestricted free agency part one) starts. It's not changing so no point in discussing it.
If I had noticed it earlier I would have brought it up, but it's obviously too late now. It's not that big of a deal, I just wanted to know why, but it's fine.
Still mad at Denver in real life for letting Julius Thomas, Rahim Moore and Demaryus Thomas hit FA the same year.
Dallas. Dez, Murray, their entire starting LB core, both their RT and swing tackle and nearly half their DL. Not to mention all the undrafted RFA's (Damn they did a good job there).
I know right he getting about double what he would be actually getting. I like Clay but not at 7 million.
The reckoning shall soon be upon us. I fully expect to see Julius Thomas at 17 million by tomorrow morning.
now would be a good time to remind some of you that Andrew Quarless is on the block... his salary is only $1.75m.
Does Todd know he doesn't get to keep all that salary cap space... ie there's no GM bonus for saving the owner money.
