Eagles Resign Graham The Philadelphia Eagles finally made a splash in free agency this evening, coming to terms with OLB/DE Brandon Graham. Graham should be familiar to Eagles fans, having spent the first 5 years of his career playing in the City of Brotherly Love. After making the tough choice to let veteran Trent Cole go, it appears that the Eagles found value in maintaining some semblance of continuity up front on defense. New Eagles Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo had this to say: Graham grades out as one of the best pass rushers in the league, if you're into that thing. The Eagles also picked up veteran linebacker Calvin Pace. It's expected that Pace will be used similarly, albeit in a reserve role.
Yea, that was an odd cut. I would have traded for him if it was solely cap motivated. The DT market is somewhat dry
His name is Ziggy. Dunno how that's better than Evander. I don't care if he was purple or albino. He was a wasted draft pick.
I had tacos for dinner last night. My favorite was this pork belly taco that was topped with pork rinds. Because I'm fat.
It's better than the time Gish upped the bid on Peyton Manning and his franchised tender. Then had PSG match it. Then trade PSG for Manning. Then cutting Manning to try and save cap, to have Peyton bid back up. There is a history of this futility, and there will continue to be.
The New Orleans Saints would like to welcome their newest member, OLB Jerry Hughes, formerly of the Bills. In 2013, GM WakeUpItsFootball was a rookie GM taking over for the San Francisco 49ers. He brought on Hughes for the minimum to back up Aldon Smith and Melvin Ingram (who was acquired in the huge trade for Collin Kapernick). It is fair to say that the move was a steal with the exceptional production that Hughes has exhibited in Buffalo. Some might see the $11M price tag as an over pay, but the Saints bring in a young and hungry player who has proven he can produce as an elite pass rusher in the league.
I traded AP for a bunch of picks and No-Show Moreno. I've been known to get involved when I think something will amuse me.
The Atlanta Falcons would like to welcome Greg Hardy aka "Da Kraken"to the team. At only 26 years old the Falcons are adding an emerging star in the league, someone that is going to get better and anchor the defense for years to come. In Hardy's last 32 games he has contributed 124 tackles, 27 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 pass deflections, and 10 stuffs. We love the fact that Hardy will bring excellent pass rush ability combined with his superb ability to stop the run. We think his attitude as "Da Kraken" will bring a certain swag to our defense. The New England Patriots welcome Pernell McPhee to the roster. We are excited to watch Bill Belichick utilize his talents along with Cameron Wake and Chandler Jones to wreck havoc in the backfield.
The Falcons would also like to welcome DT Corey Peters. Like Greg Hardy, Peters is only getting better at 26 years old. Ranked as PFF's #55 overall free agent they had this to say about him In 2013 he did dominate as mentioned above with 46 tackles, 5 sacks (from the DT position?! what, how?!), and 2 pass deflections prior to injuring his Achillies. 2014 saw Peters turn in a solid effort with 26 tackles and 2 sacks, while only starting 2 games as he regained his footing following the injury. We expect Peters to contribute as a starting DT and to get back to his 2013 playing level and develop even further. Him and Hardy will be collapsing the pocket adjacent to each other for years to come.
