Ya you don't watch him or the Lions very often. That's fine though.

Also.. 28 and he has 2 or 3 years left? Absurd. Wake is 33 and he's not stopping. "Prime" is pretty much relative to the player.. At least when talking about a generational one

    over there
I hope we do, BUT my gut tells me he will go to another destination for whatever reason.

This team hasn't had a mean presence on D since Cox or maybe Gardner. I'm sick of it, tbh.
I want some nasty, attitude since the collective effort of the Killer B's.

I don't care about the number crunching accountants who cry that it will kill the cap here or there. I want this to happen !

He does not win every 1 on 1 matchup. That's fact. Pouncey played him to about a draw, thats my opine based on watching them play YESTERDAY. Feel free to give your opinion on the game.

Wake is on another level fitness wise, you can't assume Suh will match him. I said 2-3 years bc most players peak at around 30, there's nothing absurd about it. What's absurd is paying 17 million per season to a non QB.

Want my opinion of the game? The First 2 plays and then our DEFENSE disappearing and folding in the clutch. Thats my opinion. Lol. I never said he wins every 1 on 1. However he does win NEAR EVERY 1 on 1.. and commands Doubleteams more often than any other player in the league. And yeah. Wake was a random example. But to assume one of the consensus greatest DTs of our generation is going to start declining at an average rate, just cause, when nothing about him or his play is average, is more absurd. There is a reason you are in the super minority about him being a game changer. Tell me who else outside of QB would make as big of an impact right now with this team as he would? Especially considering the joke that is our D with the game on the line. You undersell him quite a bit.

I think we feel about the same on this TBH. I'm not underselling him as a player, he's a great player. But as you implied in your question, no individual non QB really makes that big of a difference. Suh will will draw a ton of double teams and make plays anytime he's single blocked. Is that worth $17 million? Better yet, how much do you think would be too much to pay him?

Getting suh to fix our run defense is like getting a tank for a sword fight. We would be fixing one of our most glaring problems from last season with, literally, the best player in the league at doing just that.

And he can rush the passer, which was another glaring weakness inside (outside too for that matter).

Plenty of solid draft options at #14 like Trae Wayans, Melvin Gordon and Davante Parker (DGB?) but imagine if we signed Suh and then drafted a beast like Eddie Goldman to play next to him... I'm leaning towards Wayans in light of his stellar combine and great carer at MSU, not to mention Brent Grimes' huge cap hit next year, but for pure talent at CB I'd look at Quentin Rollins in the 2nd rd. For pure talent and production I don't think that they can go wrong with Melvin Gordon, and for a T/G player with Brandon Albert on the mend, La'el Collins is the real deal.

I would love to get either Wayans or Parker with the 14th pick although I think Wayans will be off the board already. The idea of putting another huge plugger next to Suh is very intriguing

Well... I predicted after Detroit's playoff loss that they would find a way to keep Suh. I'm going to stick with that. Sure it would be fantastic if he signed here as I think he would make the defense better clearly. I just think Detroit will end up appealing to him and that he'll take slightly less to stay there. They were close last season... Stafford seems to have turned the corner. They made the playoffs and narrowly lost to the Cowboys. It was a gut wrenching loss.. he was very emotional in the press conference afterwards. I think the competitor in him wants to finish what they started there. Does he like the new staff Caldwell and Austin? We'll find out soon enough. I think the contract will go into 7 years in length which will help Detroit.

I think that with all the additions other teams in the division are making on offense it makes sense.

If we got Suh we'd become an instant playoff contender. That's not me being a homer or delusional. Our defense let us down time and time again last year or we would have been in the playoffs. He automatically makes the entire defense better. The thing like the most is he would make out DB's a lot better too for the fact that QB's would have to be getting rid of it a lot faster.

It would be awesome for us if he picks Miami as I think it will go along way to shore up our run D and inside pass rush. But, if he stays with Detroit we have the draft and players on our roster. If Suh goes elsewhere I sure do not want us to over pay for Odrick. Shelton might be there round one..then take Carl Davis round 2.

Unfortunely you are correct. Ross seems to love his name in the headlines for signing high priced free agents more than he seems to care about putting a winning product on the field.

All spending large amounts of money shows is that you have a large bank account. It doesn't prove one bit that you know how to put a quality football team on the field.

If making the biggest splash in free agency and overpaying players was the right route to building a quality team. The Washington Redskins would have won several Super Bowls over the past dozen years.

I personally think Suh is a great player, but the Dolphins need two solid guards on offense, plus another quality WR and a big RB to complement Miller.

They need a MLB and possibly another starting OLB. They need a CB, safety, and interior line help. Suh would certainly resolve the interior line issue, but spending so much money on one position will certainly make it difficult for them to find any other quality starters in free agency.

If they can find 3-4 quality starters at their positions of need in this years draft and from the younger players already on the roster, the Suh signing will look great at the end of the season.

Yet if they don't find quality players to fill these positions, Suh will just be a great player on a mediocre team.

Plus if Suh comes that would attract other players to come play with him. What linebacker wouldn't want Suh playing in front of them? As for everyone saying this is another overpay for the Dolphins......it's not. Suh does so much more for a team than guys like Mike Wallace ever will. It's a lot of money but if you're getting one of the greatest players at their position of all time how could you not? And it's a position of extreme need for the Dolphins. We are talking about a HOF player. This isn't Albert, Wallace, or whoever else.

The problem is that if the Dolphins do sign Suh, they won't have much money left to pay other quality free agents.

Also, I can see players wanting to come to a team with a great QB and a legitimate chance of playing in the SB. I just don't see players wanting to sign for less money to play with the Dolphins because Suh is on the team.

If that were the case, every free agent LB would want to play for the Texans. Because as good as Suh is at DT, JJ Watts is by far the best defensive lineman in the NFL.

I'll say no. He's using us for leverage, and that's fine. We can't tie up our cap between him, tannehill, and wallace

The Dolphins have Tannehill. He is developing nicely. You don't need a top notch quarterback to win the big one. Flacco and Eli Manning. Look at Dilfer. That team won with defense. Peyton Manning has one ring. If it was all about quarterback him and Brees should have about a handful of Super Bowl rings apiece. They will have money. Wallace will be gone at least by next year. Do you realize how many players are signed on long term with this team? Not many. They will have plenty of cap with getting rid of dead weight. They won't have a ton of cap after Suh this offseason but they will by next year. And they could still get a couple players along with Suh this offseason and we got the draft. Get Suh. Or else what? Settle for average players like Odrick?

The Texans had been a playoff team until their QB situation turned to puke. If they had even a top 15 quarterback they would be a playoff team again and players would go there to play with Watt.

Who said they're gonna get crap for pay? Don't need to break bank for a top 5 LB after they get Suh. After Wallace and more are gone they will have the cap for some solid players and the players from the draft. You want to settle for guys like Odrick still? What has that gotten us the last 12-15 years? Nothing. They need a game changer.

3 reasons why i believe suh will sign with us...
1)he landed in florida with his agent a week ago and met/still meeting with dolphins
2)we're seeing all these other free agents resigning with their teams and the dolphins remain quiet
3)ross will spend whatever it takes to get who he wants. raiders and chargers be damned! those *****es wont beat out ross in a bidding war.
