https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/574311936759894016 Florio on that last quote...he made a funny, lets hope he's right... me...want..Suh...me...want...Kong.
The nay sayers will come in here and be like stop overpaying for free agents. The fact that they're comparing Suh to any free agent the Dolphins have signed the last decade is laughable. Most us Dolphins fans knew Wallace was an overpaid signing. But this is Suh. One of the best DTs ever. He impacts the game in so many ways and will make every player around him on the defensive side of the ball better. Dolphins need this. They need elite talent. This team has been so close to the playoffs the last 2 or 3 years if you get Suh and make some other moves no doubt they can make the playoffs. If the team had Suh last year how many more games we win with all the close losses the team had? Come on y'all. Dolphins need this. Sign Franklin or Lupati. Get Suh and a CB. 1st round WR. 2nd round MLB.
talent like suh doesn't grow on trees or hit free agency often, and if you can land him you have to do it. now me personally im just being guarded and not getting involved too much but if he is in the building taking his physical and getting ready to sign a deal im doing ****ing backflips and cartwheels. im just not counting my chickens yet.
We're Dolphins fans and are used to **** blowing up in our faces. So forgive me for not allowing myself to get too excited for this, even if we sign him.
At least the last two times, things went just as predicted. Rumors abounded we wanted Wallace and Albert and both came true. The last really good players I can recall who showed any interest in Miami and we given huge offers, only to rebuke them in the end, were Olin Kreutz and John Randle.
And Wallace didn't live up to his contract and is miscast in our offense while also throwing temper tantrums. Albert got hurt (again) and (probably) cost us the season. That's been our recent luck with star player acquitions. Not that we shouldn't try to get them, it's just we always seem to somehow get the short end of the stick. Look at Chad Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Karlos Dansby, Joey Porter, Dante Culpepper, David Boston, Ricky Williams.... We either get these guys too late in their careers or they become busts. We don't usually luck out when signing star players. But I guess we'll see. Maybe this time it will be different...
I think the biggest worry about Suh will be whether he'll keep out of trouble... He has a pattern of dirty play and is generally targeted by the media and the refs on the field, given his history...Still, if we should acquire him and he, at some point in time, goes all stomp happy on Brady, I can't say I'd be unhappy... hehehe But let's all hold our horses until the fat lady sings...Ross has f*(#&#d things up before...
I still see this as a smokescreen. I could so see the team making a play for Haloti Ngata or another DT rather than putting the farm into Suh.
IMO, this is no smoke screen. This is for real. Too many outlets have this as a very good chance of happening. I am sure there are Plan B's in place if they lose out on Suh(like Ngata) but I would like our chances to get him. I see no remote reason for a smokescreen.
