GB also had a streak of Favre and Rodgers.

Do like this move, the D still needs work as Misi and Jordan seem miscast in the 4-3, as does Jenkins. ie, we need a MLB and Dion Jordan has to show what and who he is or probably be traded.

you realize 3 games alone could be blamed solely on just the defense folding while the offense did what they needed to do and sat on the sideline to watch the dumpster fire D lose the game for them, right?

what was that DT that got mega bucks from free agency then did nothing and got overweight? Hopefully Suh doesn't do the same thing....

GB had pieces.....Reggie White was the difference and the tone setter that changed it all...regardless of FAVRE and others already there......it starts with a key addition. this could be it, what it takes.

People forget so quickly how atrocious our defense was late in games (and on third downs), and how easily we could have win three or four more with good defensive play. Would have put us in the playoffs. If we'd had Suh last season, I think we would have been in the playoffs.

    Or...

"I should try and work on another 4k+ yard 90QBR 2:1+ season while getting compared to perennial 70qbr Henne"

    Or better yet

"Hey maybe now when I take the lead late in the game against better teams, my Defense won't lay down for them and pile the losses up"

The biggest thing to take out of this is that we will not need to blitz as much and that will drastically help our coverage guys. Just about any team can get pressure on the QB with exotic blitzes. The best teams can get a pass rush with 4 and drop 7 into coverage. The giants won 2 super bowls based on being able to get an unbelievable pass rush without doing too much blitzing.

A rotation of Wake, Vernon, Shelby (hopefully) and Jordan at DE, with Chris McCain slotting in also and Suh, Mitchell, Francis and Johnson at DT is a good D line!

    both DT
Both top DT in free agency
both signed for 100m+ for a new team
both top DT in the league, till they hit free agency
both have been linked to stomping on players, multiple times

i see a few comparisons already...........

Still have to, all this move does practically speaking, is mean offenses cannot simply double Wake and pick us apart. Suh makes blitz packages far far more effective.

Add in Vernon should feast in 2015

Different personalities, Haynesworth himself admitted he did not play hard every down to the point of literal absurdity.

I agree about OL being approached same way. It is going to be a very tough call between the dim hope that one of the top 3 WR's fall, or they attempt to trade back, or be forced to reach somewhat for Perriman or Strong, or really step out of the box and go DGB. Or alternatively hope that Scherff falls, or reach slightly with Collins. But like last year, they had a strong conviction and big need at RT, and went all in on James, albeit what was widely considerred a reach. They may do the same with La'el Collins, if a top tier WR is not an option. Remember, James is likely your starting LT on day one next year, which means you will need a starting RT until Albert is full strength, and I am not sure Jason Fox is the answer, and we aren't better off with him being ONLY the swing emergency reserve. So, I agree with dj, need more impact big boys. Collins could start at RT on day one, and then compete at guard with Thomas, Smith, and Turner until he is ready to take over as a full time guard. With Collins, you also create more position flexibility along the line (Garner gone), AND give your self the option that he could ultimately be your RT if James becomes the permanent LT, when or if they move on from the expensive, injury prone, and aging Branden Albert in 2016 or 2017. Not very exciting, or entirely risk free to take an OL again this year with the top pick, who you will then move to guard, a position that they neither played in college, but adding a day one top tier starter in the trenches would be the best medicine for the offense as a whole, just like Suh will turn out to be for the defense.

I know right, I've seen about 5 times where he literally threw cutler like a rag doll, I was fearful for the guy no sh&&...I could see the fear in his eyes..

Pats will have to adjust their game somewhat..a lot maybe.

Perhaps you forget how atrocious the Dolphins offense was against the Bills early in the season, the Chiefs, and the Ravens. If the offense had played better in those games, the team would have made the playoffs.

So it really isn't fair to just blame the defense for the fact the Dolphins failed to make the playoffs. In fact in the last game of the season against the Jets, both the offense and defense failed to show up for the game.

The defense certainly regressed in its play over the latter part of the season, but it's a team game and the offense let the team down several times during the season also.

The fact is the Dolphins didn't make the playoffs because they weren't good enough as a team. Heck they finished behind the Bills in the AFC standings. I'm sure the Bills fans are upset the Dolphins beat them late in the season and probably prevented them from being a playoff team.

Love me some Jenkins, so Misi goes back to the Strongside, were he cannot really do much save for stuffing runs, Jordan is in limbo, and we still need a MLB.

This is not a good blue print.

True , elite difference maker . Immediately elevates the production of Wake , Vernon , Jodan etc. Nasty demeanour doesn't hurt either imo .

Will give RT and the offense more snaps , now up to the coaching and front office to add the correct pieces at the right cost.

Are people actually under the assumption that Suh just upgrades the D-line and only the D-line, or something?

Let alone on arguably "the worst clutch defense in the league". It all trickles down.

They struggled early as a new system was being installed as was expected but overall the offense played well enough to make the playoffs. It was clearly our defense collapsing down the stretch that killed our playoff chances. That being said, I do hope that our draft focuses on offensive play makers early, especially if we lose Clay.
