Our coaches obviously have problems putting players into positions and situations where they would succeed. The obvious answer? Sign a FA so talented and elite that it overshadows the incompetent coaching. Problem solved.
This time last year Jenkins was not even a realistic thought for being a productive starter , Jordan has more to work with , up to the staff to make it work and have him be the right fit in the right system and position imo. We need a MLB , make the correct choice and we're more than ok for LB's I think . Not perfect but more than ok , our Dline is the meal ticket.
Two bonafide all pros on the d-line. This is a win now play. You have to assume Wake's play will decline in 2016. I just hope we can fill a few more holes, and coach these guys well enough to win.
This move puts Coyle/Philbin in the VP of Football Operations' microscope IMHO. Tannenbaum just told them, "there's your defense...put up or roll on." At least, that's how I take it.
I imagine this is about what Redskins forums looked like after they backed a dumptruck full of money to land Haynesworth.
I wouldn't count on or pencil in Misi at all personally , if he forces the issue to start him , fine , if not that's fine as well. We'll add at least one LB , just make it the right one and we'll be good enough at the position imo . Want /need a corner and some talent on offense , Jordan has more productivity in him then he's shown or displayed . Up to the staff and him now .
Barring an injury I'd be really surprised if Misi is not the Sam in 2015. Meaning, unless they want to re run Misi the MLB in 2015, we are in the market for a MLB
lions source from this pft article http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/08/report-lions-hope-suh-comes-to-his-senses/
The Lions telling him to come to his senses might be the kiss off, kinda reminds me when a guy is losing his girlfriend and lashes out at her in anger and pretty much kills any chance of her staying with him.
The key is money, and in the end, the Lions offer was 2 million less than the Dolphins but the difference is the taxes. 4.25% state taxes counts for 5-7 million in Michigan. vs $0.00 in Florida So he's earning about 7-9 million more over here. It doesn't matter if we're mediocre, yeah, the Lions are the better team, but players go to the money. and 7-9 million isn't chump change unless you're ridiculous rich.
No doubt. Suh knows better than that crap. Miami went into Detroit last year and the Lions needed a miracle last seconds touchdown to beat the Dolphins... not to mention that drive was helped along by a blown first down spot!! And Albert went down that game. Tannehill is on the way up and Stafford is on a downward trajectory... Suh probably sees that too.
Yeah, Suh would be crazy to leave that perennial powerhouse in Detroit. LOL so hard at the Lions butthurt.
Is it worth it to pay a DT like a QB though? I just don't get excited by big free agent signings anymore. Miami does it all the time and still misses the playoffs. Though it is a much better signing than the Wallace one. Great player (though get ready for the numerous penalties/flags he'll bring), but if they don't have a fantastic draft which they haven't since at least the 90's, it won't amount to much. Granted, he is freakin awesome, and with Wake it will be fun to see. I just hope it doesn't handicap them in other areas of the field when it comes to signing players.
Kinda pathetic that the Lions are behaving this way. They had the opportunity to lock him up long term last year and they refused so they can go **** themselves.
One big *** contract. Guess the thinking is by adding him to the D we keep points off the board. I would personally like to see us cut out the stupid mistakes as that wouldn't cost 114M. Regardless, Coyle is a lucky SOB to have a job right now cause it just got a lot easier for him.
People are focusing on the money, but I choose to focus on the fact that our team got a lot better today. That's all that matters in the end.
Bills fan here. Congrats on landing Suh! I heard all the talk, but didnt actually think it would happen. With Wake already there, thats a nice combo. Kinda sucks, because the Bills now know what Dareus will be driving for shortly. Ive said it before and I will say it again. I am sick and tired of the F'in Patriots, that has to come to an end. I hope its the Bills but if not The phins, I still hate the Jets. Fireworks in the AFC East, the division is becoming relevant again!
