Speaking for myself, there are only three occasions where I'll bid in the final hour: one, if I'm waiting for a bid slot to open like unfortunately happened with Pete this morning; two, if I get taken out of the running for a specific player and the next guy on my list is coincidentally nearing 24 hours; three, if I conduct a trade that in turn creates a new FA need..... but I try to limit those instances to players I've already bid on if at all possible.

Not taking it personal at all man. I know in other types of leagues Ive been in...sniping was either legit..or frowned upon. Obviously its accepted here, so now we can be part of the fun.

You're going to create enemies by doing it solely to piss the other person off.

That is ultimately your choice. I cannot stop anyone from sniping but only warn them of the repercussions.

For example, if I notice the Jaguars snipe any of my bids in the last hour... I'm going to think its intentional based on what you said.

In leagues like this..where people have **** goin on during the day and may not be able to catch a last minute snipe..its one thing if theres a run of bids on a player..but when theres been two in 24 hrs..and all the sudden 30 mins left someone throws in a bid...thats dirty pool. Which...again is cool, now I know how to play it

Well did you warn anyone the last two times it happened to us? Personally, in a league like this...if your gonna put a bid in last minute..take a second tp IM the other owner to explain why ur doin it. I know Imma be super pissed if we get sniped and cant catch it because Im busy in RL

Why do I need to warn anybody?

    It's 24 hours, not 23 hours and 30 minutes.

I don't care what they do if they follow the rules. If they want to piss people off by sniping, I can't stop them. It is a sure fire way to create enemies though so that's their call.

Hey, I'm not condoning sniping one bit my friend. I think it's pretty low myself if it's done intentionally for s**ts and giggles. I gave my personal reasons for bidding in the final hour, but I wouldn't call them "sniping". I'd call it coincidental. Unless you've truly got the highest bid on a player that the other 31 GMs feel no desire to match, then you always run the risk of getting outbid at some point over the 24 hour period. If it happens to be coincidental, then that's something you can't get mad about b/c others shouldn't have to give up a player they want just to be nice to the current high bidder. However, if it's intentional sniping, then you have the right to be ticked b/c there should be an appreciable level of respect and comradery among the league.

They were the best of times, they were the worst of times...

I personally don't care about this so called "sniping". It's not even true sniping like associated with ebay bidding, least then it's one shot and bam he's yours. Everyone has the same rules and free to do what they want, it's just this so called social convention that prevents it from happening more often. It's a game, and if people get hurt feelings over things so be it, let them get thicker skins.

I like to take things nice and slow. There's no benefit of bidding any earlier then 23 hours and 59 minutes because the clock just extends another 24 hours regardless, it's just a lot of I want it now or sense of "he was mind". No he was never yours until the time passes, now if people were allowed to steal after the 24 hours that would be unfair. Nut up or butt up.

Ok let me say something here -While i appreciate Bryan trying to nip the situation in the bud, i think he may have actually blown it up. I was initally upset, about the snipe, i know he could have bid on Mallet anytime yesterday, but he didnt. I dont know his reasons, maybe he lost out on someone and decided that was next on his list. IDK. However, GIK and everyone else, the Jaguars, would never intentionally bid someone up, just to snip someone at the last minute. I have a hard enough time keeping up with you guys and your knowledge, i dont need to make enemies too.

I don't think "sniping" is intentionally bidding up, plus the Mallet thing isn't even close. Sure it's in the last hour but it's double the original bid.

Now when the 24 hours is renewed every time at 23 hours and 59 minutes at the minimum raise then you can consider that bidding up, especially when the other GM continually puts in a generous raise.

For the current example, Steven Ridley is sitting at $610K or whatever and I'm more then likely going to wait until the last minute because I'm deciding on what players I want or don't want, so I can extend the 24 hours and think of a game plan next versus needlessly throwing too much money out there. "I-I-I'm hunting, looking for a dollar".

Nope I dont consider your examples as sniping...and to be straight, I dont snipe, dont really care for it. But in my experience the only way you get people not to snipe you, is to make it known the favor WILL be returned. If someone knows youll get sniped back, they are less apt to do it in the first place.

i got sniped but after a few soothing f bombs in vent posts, i felt better about things and let him have the guy. Then the same dude sniped me on another player in the same position that I went for instead when the first guy. Accidental or not, lets just say that if he bids on another one of my players I will trade everyone I have to make sure he cant sign anyone ever again. Its reasons like this the internet was invented.

The Jaguars are very happy to welcome OT/OG/C Don Barclay - We like that he can play anywhere on the line - He may not be elite, but he can be a nice fill in when necessary.

When this thing began I envisioned signing Sam Bradford in FA, but the Texans got all crazy on me...I bring this up because I firmly believe Sam Bradford will be a Titan in real life when it's all said and done.

    Seahawks welcome,

DE Kroy Biermann- Fills our need for DE depth and adds a pass rush to replace the departed Schofield. Probably the most important signing thus far.
DT Chris Neild- Quality space eater and a homer signing
OG Austin Pasztor- Fills need for OG depth and helps out the run blocking
FB Will Johnson- Blocker and pass catcher, reliable in those roles in Pitt, also a homer signing
