Well, my thought is, if they are really truly concerned with the tampering thing, what better way to try to avoid it than to say there was contract talk to be worked out, and not sign him until late tonight or tomorrow?
Maybe Suh is wondering why we are basically liquidating the team, or what kind of team he will actually be a part of
arguably the best, or one of the top 3 DLs in football on paper, with an offense lead by a young QB coming off 4k yards, 90QBR and td/ints higher than 2:1 while still on an uptrend, for starters. Not to mention that so far near everyone we have 'liquidated' has been someone we were looking forward to letting go in the first place, save for Clay, and the rest are just being replaced by Suh himself.
excellent........didn't know Suh had such versatility. Now I see why he is so important. I didn't realize he played both ways either I am stoked. We just saved a whole **** load of money
Yeah. 100% with you there. I've been telling myself since day 1 to not give into the hype until it's done-done. but I failed miserably.
I am getting worried though because if it was all but a done deal as reported, why the hold up. All that could happen is someone like the Raiders to drive up his price. I get the tampering thing and appearances. There was also another report earlier that we were trying to stick something in his contract so we could get some more guys. I just hope we didn't piss him off trying to do so.
Look at it the other way. The Dolphins would be frantic in FA right now (and probably would not have let Odrick go) if they were nervous the Suh deal wasn't a done deal. If they're smart, they already have a backup agreement in place, and are just looking for an even better agreement.
I wouldn't think so....According to most reports he seems like a smart, reasonable guy on the business side of things off the field.... ...and there's also that whole "highest paid nonqb ever" thing.
Jordan Cameron our back up plan if clay gets offered more than we wanna match. If he's healthy Cameron is a monster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ellerbe - Didn't play last year Wheeler - played terribly last year, opposition QB's eyes lit up when he was in coverage Smith - Wasn't going to start, lacks versatility in his game. Basically a run blocking Guard. Gibson - Had the Yips at the end of last year and injury problems in general. For 825K? sure. But not for what he was due here! Hartline - Brutal year. Lacks explosiveness. No YAC's.... ever. Garner - Depth that the coaches never let see the field Finnegan - was basically a one year show me deal, structured so he could be cut. Surely the above players can't be considered 'liquidating' a team. That is a cast of aging underperformers, depth players and injuries waiting to happen. Losing Clay would hurt obviously though.
He's an upgrade if healthy, unfortunately the dude may be one helmet to helmet from being Sylvester Stallone in Rocky V.
i guess ian rapaport said on nfl network the deal could still be finished tonight but definitely done tomorrow.
Cameron is worth the gamble imo. There aren't many good options in free agency and the TE draft class is really weak.
Don't be nervous about Suh. Reports are there are no setbacks with the deal and they are just going to sign it tomorrow. Idk why but Suh will sign tomorrow.
Clay and Cameron are both injury prone. But Cameron has the higher ceiling and is the better player already. Looks like Clay will get a big offer from the Bills. I'm all for Cameron.
Wonder what is going on with Culliver. I've only heard rumors of Minny and the Jets. Obviously the Jets are out now, wonder why his name isn't linked to more teams, thought he would be a big target in FA.
Clint Boling signing with the Bengals. Well with Carpenter, Franklin, Iupati, and now Boling off the market that's pretty much all the good guards. Guess Dolphins will have to go to the draft.
Accept that we're going to have unproven/subpar players at certain positions. That's the price you pay for giving guys 12, 10, 19 million a year.
Omar Kelly*@OmarKelly**3 minutes ago Ndamukong Suh has arrived at the #Dolphins facility. Deal coming soon. The eagle has landed!
Omar Kelly*@OmarKelly**5m5 minutes ago My bad. Suh is in Miami. Not at facility at the moment. LMFAO. Never ceases to amaze me.
I heard that too on ESPN radio. I wonder the details and wish he would have elaborated more. Seeing the compensation the Saints got, maybe the talk was Pouncey and the draft pick?
What is Graham worth to us? I'd probably go with Pouncey + 3rd rounder, really hard to decide if it's 2nd rounder. Gotta remember we don't need Clay if Graham came to us. Well, it's all hypothetical now.
