Cameron while not the exact same as those you mentioned isn't all that different , at least he has the size , the ability to elevate and play outside , offers a lt of flexibility . Nt much different than Marshall in ways.

I can name like 15 receiver I would put in that same category as far as the "type" of receiver I'm talking about, so I guess theyre all elite too. Call it what you want, but that's what we need.

Guys, the problem isn't our targets anymore, it's the blockers now. Get some beef and maybe a Rb then shore up lb and cb. They've really added a lot to this team in a few moves.

He is 22 years old and doesn't turn 23 until next month. So it is probably to be expected that he is still a bit immature and has some growing up to do. That being stated, he is a proven talent in the NFL and that is always better than taking a risk on an unproven draft pick.

Perhaps the trade will do for Stills what it did for Vontae Davis when he was traded by the Dolphins because he was seen as immature. Davis left the Dolphins and became one of the top DB's in the NFL and it doesn't appear the Colts have had any problems with his so called immaturity issues since he was traded to the Colts.

And, not even an accurate insult at that. But, whatever makes you feel better, bro. :wink2:

Lets not forget IF we sign Clay, we will have got Stills & Clay (due to the cap space we needed before 1st june) for a player we didn't want and a 3rd

Well Ellerbe has already restructured his deal with the Saints. I guess he was open to doing that with us too but he didnt fit.

Lockett may be better and then there is the enigmatic Chris Conley, Kenny Bell might surprise some people. Dezmin Lewis just had a great pro day.

Remains to be seen, but this much is certain. Stills ranked 4th in the league in catch rate, which IMO is a greatly underrated stat. A speedster who catches everything thrown his way is remarkable. He just isn't 6'4" 220 pounds.

His yards after catch per reception average is even worse than Hartline,Gibson,Wallace, and Wallace at 3 yards after catch. Only 15 receivers in the NFL had a worse yac avg.

he had the same 20+ yards receptions as Wallace(10) and had 6 plays of 40+ yards compared to (2) for Wallace

My point being I doubt he puts up the same big plays here that Brees allotted unless Tannehill takes huge strides forward.

I think for what we paid and his salary for the next 2 years we may have done well but I'd be more happy with a receiver like Jarvis who can make plays out of nothing and get those yac rather than hope we hit this guy for a few bombs here and there when we know that's not our QBs strong suit

I'll be a little upset if Ellerbe does really well with the Saints, but with that D I doubt it (he needed a great D-line with the Ravens to do well).

Good, we need a MLB CB or S ... in the first round. Keep stacking this defense.

Miami's new nickname will be "Turnover City" if we get a top CB or Safety to go with this pass rush and Brent Grimes/Reshad Jones

Remember the Surtain/Madison days? Well picture Grimes/Waynes(assuming the kid turns out to be as good as predicted)

The other possibility is that we realize Tannehill has deep ball problems, but also realize we need a deep threat. Compromise is to find someone cheap that can at least threaten deep and spend WR money elsewhere. I'll be really impressed with Tannenbaum if he can now pull off a Wallace trade for either another good WR, a high draft pick (that we could use to trade up for a top WR), or fill another piece of the puzzle.

Maybe he isn't 6'4" 220 pounds, but Cameron is bigger than that and he will provide the red zone target for Tannehill that your bigger WR would.

The Dolphins have the receivers on their roster for next season, especially if they are able to resign Clay.

They now need to turn their attention to finding upgrades at LB, CB, Safety, and offensive guard. Of course if they decide to draft RB Gordon in the first round. You won't hear any complaints from me.

So the new question. Does Wallace have any trade value? This seems like writing on the wall that he's about to be gone

Led the league in catch % and was 2nd in yards per target last season. So he's not an Allen Iverson type WR. He's being productive by being efficient. Lowish TD totals. But WR TDs vary so much and depend on so many variables that I don't put much stock in it. Though I wonder if the Saints undervalued him because they view TDs differently. Love the move. Much higher chance he'll produce than a 3rd or even 2nd round WR, and for about the same $.

Looking at his game log, there doesn't appear to be any more inconsistency on his part than there is for the average receiver, and there doesn't appear to be a difference in how he plays between domed and non-domed stadiums.

Why is that so outrageous? Mike Wallace for AP straight up wouldn't be horrible for either team. Minnesota supposedly wants to part ways with Cordarelle Patterson because he suffers from Ocho Cinco syndrome (can't learn the playbook). They wanted Mike Wallace and even offered him more money than we did. That was a different regime though. Also, AP supposedly wants to leave.

While the offer is fantasy, it's not out of the realm of possibility, IMO.

Mike Wallace is not a fit for this offense. Tannehill does not have the rapport with him (or, alternatively, is not accurate enough on throws traveling 20+ yds in the air) to make him a true deep threat. Lazor still used his speed, though it was often on different looks like WR screens, come-backs, and in-breaking routes that got him moving in the secondary. I don't think it was by accident/mistake that most of his success came in the medium distances (10-15 yds in the air).

Kenny Stills is not quite Mike Wallace 2.0. I think he's more of a blend of Wallace and Landry. He does not have Wallace's "crackhead" (thanks Patrick Peterson) top-end speed, but he does not have Wallace's stone-hands either. He's much faster than Landry, but shares similar hands (though Landry has better body control). Wallace made some big improvements in learning how to catch in traffic last year, but if you really paid attention, many of those catches came down to luck (bobbled balls, the one that hit his thigh and came back up, etc.). Landry and Stills are far more reliable.

I would have no issue with shedding Wallace's $10M and using it to sign Clay. Clay fits the motion sets that this offense is geared for -- he's a tweener, in a good way. Wallace is not. He is best when a guy like Big Ben can dance around for 4 seconds and then heave it to him when he's had time to create separation with his world-class speed.

I'm not as excited about this as some of you (yet). If he's a cheaper version of Mike Wallace, I don't think that's hugely encouraging. We're replacing one deep ball specialist with another, when throwing 9 routes is Tannehill's biggest weakness. Admittedly, KS is cheaper and maybe more efficient, but I don't think this team needs another version of Mike Wallace.

I think this team needs complete WR's. I don't know enough about KS to say he can't be that or isn't, but I'm a little worried based on what I read.

I know its been posted here in the past but Ryan's deep balls to every other receiver seem to be fine, only when he throws to Wallace does it seem to not work. Just a weird coincidence.
