I'd switch the grades for the Cameron signing and Ellerbe trade. Cameron's concussion issues bother me enough to bump him down to a B. And the Ellerbe trade might be my favorite move of the offseason. I'd also give the Wallace trade a B. Rest looks spot on to me though.
Young guys gonna have to step up this year Deej. Thomas, Taylor, Matthews, Jordan, McCain, young DTs, etc
Hard to not like what we have seen so far. I look forward to seeing what players they are going to give Lazor for the offense this year.
This offseason has been solid so far. They do have holes to fill on the roster but they had to cut all these players that are underperforming. They may not be able to get an ideal player at every position this season but they needed to get rid of the players that were cut. They need a WR, CB, MLB, FS, and G. Two of those positions they can get a starting caliber player in the first 2 rounds. Hopefully they can sign a couple more free agents. If they can't get an ideal player for all these positions they can do it next offseason. Cutting these players needed to be done though or else they were gonna be the same 7 or 8 win team missing out on the playoffs. So this offseason is a win win in my book. If they can get a FS and G then draft a WR and a MLB. I will be happy. I think the team is content giving Jamar Taylor one more year unless of course Trae Waynes is still on the board at pick 14 which isn't likely.
The real coup was in saving over $5M against the cap by trading Wallace, versus the $2.6M that would've been saved by only cutting him. And of course when you contextualize that by including the trade for Stills and his meager salary, you have quite the feat at the downfield receiver position.
Not that this is official or anything, but scores of A+, A, A-, B+, B+ do not average to a B+. Seems silly to give individual scores, and then just make up an overall score at the end.
