Todd goin all ghetto fab in the draft thread...lol @ "that Collins kid from Alabama cause he can play safely or something". Well done Todd. Well done
So I ditched James because he can only play RT and I like versatility on my team and Collins in general is much better than James. Thanks Nappy on the sudden trade. I kinda sprung it up while I was eating breakfast. Glad we were able to work it out.
If he'd just taken my original trade offer he would have made out better But leave it to Todd to make the draft more interesting.
Oh my lord, for a second I thought Stitches drafted Cyler Miles...I nearly fainted Sincerely, A UW Huskies fan (and future student!)
Chart wise for sure, but as far as quality of player(s), I would not be surprised if Collins and a 4th win the marathon.
That's possible, but it seems like if you wanted Collins and another pick, you could have gotten more than just a 4 had he traded down originally. The Raiders got that 4th along with a 6th to move from 21 to 26. EDIT: The Raiders essentially traded the 21st pick for the 14th pick and also picked up a 6th in the process. That's pretty insane.
There actually wasn't any "winning" this trade even though it looks like it on paper. After I messed up my time slot and screwed myself out of two trade-back opportunities, Landon Collins was the guy I would've taken at [strike]14[/strike] 15 if trades weren't allowed...... but I figured I could take BPA, trade him later while Collins is still on the board, and get back that pick I missed out on. So it's a win for me. I wasn't about to cost myself my starting SS just to squeeze a little more compensation out of it.
Honestly though....I fell asleep while you missed your clock. We would have had to have made that trade fairly early after I offered it. I've been flipping from days to nights to days the last few days...messing with me.
No worries Van. I don't think I would've gotten around to you in time regardless b/c of my time booboo. I was still trying to work on the other trade backs 10 minutes after my time was up. The one with NY was hilarious b/c they leapfrogged me and I didn't even know it.... so there I was still trying to pry a late pick from them to swap 14 & 15. lol. Totally snafu'd myself.
I can't vote for you for best in trade or draft because of this, fire your assistant GM, he's not carrying his weight.
I'm surprised my favorite player in the top 40 hasn't gone yet. Edit: Actually there he goes. Gratz Falcons
There may not have been any "losing", but Oakland essentially got paid a 6th rounder to move up 7 spots. He definitely won something.
If they don't get to you tonight...Could be a long day of waiting on pick 34 tomorrow. I can only access the forum at lunch break and the 10 minute break between 2:30 and 3:15 to make a pick.
Rather keep flexibility. 10 minutes is a long time in my trade world ;p Plus we get an hour for lunch....could pull something off there.
I get that.... but his "winning" wasn't at my expense, and I wasn't gonna cut off my nose to spite my face by asking for a bit more compensation just b/c Oakland was getting the better end of the deal on paper. Landon Collins filling a huge hole at SS easily means more to my team than another addition made to Luck's already strong group of pass catchers you know. I got what I originally wanted at 14 but gained a 4th in the process. That's a win for me as well. It's a 4th I wouldn't have had otherwise.
Hey, I wanted to make sure Fin-O could understand it just in case he's been feeling left out and sh**. I'm nice like that, what can I say. ...and it's Abalama
I do feel left out... I've never been around such poor draft evaluators in my life. You all suck, crept me.
