I've often thought what it would be like to have the draft in the GML exactly like the NFL, over a course of a few days, each team has a maximum amount of time to make a pick, five minutes. Bet there would be less trades  I mean that's something NFL GM"s complain about, not having enough time to swing trades in those 3rd thru 7th rounds (five minutes). In the NFL, it's to the point that if someone calls you about a pick and you're the one interested in trading down, and you're on the clock, you only have enough time to deal with that team, so you either work something out or you had better turn in your draft card.

with the amount of participation this year, probably the highest it's ever been (I can't remember many if any check in threads), maybe that's something for the future? I dunno...

I am shopping the 68th pick. I don't want to move out of the round and it will cost the equivalent on the draft chart. PM me if you're interested. I'll take offers for about an hour. If I don't get one I like, I'll make my pick.

I was just complaining to the guys here that we need a good indie burger place that delivers. There isn't one in this end of the city. So were relegated to pizza/wings again.

Colts with two interesting picks. I love both Cann and Coleman as prospects, but I don't love the Coleman pick for the Colts.

Spiller and Coleman and pretty similar backs. I don't see what you gain by having Coleman in addition to Spiller. I think he could have been better served taking a different hb later on in the draft. Just my two cents.

Easy. Coleman takes on more carries when Spiller gets hurt again ;p

I can see the value in having two backs that bring different things to the table, but honestly I don't think that's a necessity. There are benefits to having two backs that can do similar things. In this day and age, you're not usually going to have a bell cow who totes the rock 30 times, so being able to do the same thing whichever back is in the game gives you a certain advantage.

well, it would be over sooner or if we did the draft closer to the real draft, we'd have to spread free agency out... like ration the player pool somehow. allow teams to bid on certain players by "rank" or some universal rating system. In other words, have the 5 star free agents in one pool.... a week later, release the 4.5 star FA's... a week after that, release the 4 star FA's... so on... just throwing **** out there I dunno...

yeah, who carries the ball every third rushing play? Spiller runs, he needs to sit out a play cause he's tired... then Coleman, he needs to sit out cause he's tired... then who? :shifty:

But my question is what is the advantage of having two HB's with similar running styles? I get the committee approach but if you look at the successful committees it usually has runners with different styles Moreno-Miller, Stewart-Williams, etc. Lets say the Colts have the lead and Todd is trying to run out the clock and the other team knows the run is coming I really don't think you can count on Coleman or Spiller to move the pile or gain 2 tough yards if there isn't a hole. Who would play goal line situations or 3rd/4th and short because I wouldn't want Coleman or Spiller in those situations.

Again, I love Coleman they player just don't see the advantage of pairing them together.

Watched this guy play and swore I was watching Steve Smith (the NYG WR). He's gonna be a good receiver for a long time. Nice pick.

Yah anyone who has closely followed my posts in the Club probably noticed I've mentioned him as the type of WR that Green Bay grabs in round 2 and never looks back. Unfortunately, I had to choose between Byron and him in the trade up. Was so close though to pulling off nearly everyone I was considering at 34 lol.

Still so much value left in the draft, its crazy. I'm wondering when some of these high-ranked players, at least in my evaluation, will go.

mychal rivera is still available. even though he dares you to find a worse spelling of michael, he is still better than any te left. cheap and young.

I'll consider move down offers for the next 30 minutes. Nothing blows me away then I'll probably be taking one of your guys that has been falling.

He's no LaQuan McGowan, now that's a TE that can cause mismatches. Derrick Henry still available for my pick?

Nice pick for the Cowboys. Guy has great workout numbers for his size (short shuttle and 3-cone specifically).

Definitely enjoying my draft so far this year. Really wanted Greene at 71, but I also definitely needed the DT depth to go along with my starters Dial/Crawford. Shelby/Cooper round it out nicely.

I know him personally actually. Pretty much the main reason why I drafted him. Went to school with him and Matt Elam... From my knowledge he walked away fine from his two bike accidents. I like his blocking ability plus his toughness. Reminds me of a Dallas Clark a lot.

Thanks. As far as Spiller & Coleman go, it's about both scheme continuity and simply taking the best available back on my board, and I had Coleman ranked number 3 overall. The way I look at is, if I'm giving a back 200+ touches, I want the guy I think will make the most of 'em. Additionally it's more important for my RB1 to best fit my scheme & playbook than it is to have him compliment Spiller. I'll find that situational RB3 later on who serves as the yin to their yang. If possible I prefer my best two backs to be somewhat reflexive of each other for playbook integrity. That way if one gets hurt I don't have to alter the offense, just as Dallas drafted Joseph Randle to spell and backup Murray rather than compliment him.

My alternative to Coleman was taking the 7th or 8th back on my board, so that was an easy decision.
