Around the 2 count of Rollins pinning Reigns....Rollins puts his head down and says "Thank you so much"

    Awesome moment.

Yeah that was a complete lie by the WWE there. The Big Show won the 1996 WCW World War 3 match, and what made it even worse is I believe it was JBL said something like Show never won a Royal Rumble, Battle Royal or World War 3. Although I guess you can argue that The Giant and not Big Show won WW3. Either way it's one thing to ignore what a wrestler did in another promotion but don't lie about it to play up a storyline that was made during the actual match.

Again like what I think someone, maybe Vengeful Odin, said why not plug the Network by saying the last time Big Show won a battle royal was in 1996 at the WCW PPV WW3 available on the WWE Network.

Show technically won a Royal Rumble match as well as Rock hit the ground before he did. I think the storyline was even that he would be the winner in the record books, but Rock would get the title shot. It ultimately ended up being a four way title match at WM.

So technically...Show has won a Royal Rumble, WW3 and The Andre The Giant Battle Royal. He is one of the more accomplished battle royal participants of all time. Lmao.

Hey good call about the 2000 Royal Rumble, I totally forgot about that. I still think The Rock is acknowledged in the WWE "record books" as the winner of that match.

Just doing a quick Big Show wikipedia search, it looks like he won an ECW battle royal in 2006. I wouldn't be shocked if he won a few others in WCW or WWE during the years too.

Kind of a weird day for the WWE. Coming off of a WM that has gotten plenty of positive feedback, Vince announces that they now have 1.3 million Network subscribers and while the stock market is up over 280 points, the WWE stock dropped as much as $2.40 per share today, which is a 14% loss.

The WWE is also apparently during another free month in April for the Network.

  6. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I saw that too. I thought the 1.3 million was a good number considering they announced a million not too long ago, but who knows?

The worry is that the WWE won't be able to retain a lot of those viewers and continue to grow the number of subscriptions. The feeling is most of them just signed up for WM season and would be cancelling soon.

The issue is that last year Wrestlemania did something like 2 million buys between the Network and PPV. The problem is that 10 bucks for the network doesn't replace the 60 bucks for the PPV. So investors are reacting to the news negatively.

  9. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

It is still available on a lot of PPV models though. I don't think it was exclusive to WWE Network, unless I am wrong. So the buy rate is unknown.

So Sheamus is returning tonight, who else is super excited?

  11. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

    I don't mind Sheamus.

One other thing I should point out about yesterday. LOTS of FINN BALOR shirts and hats. A LOT.

Same with Bellas. Make of it what you will.

Also, the PRE-Wrestlemania 31 Podcast is still up. It is not ALL wrestling related, but the official predictions for the main event are on there. This was recorded Saturday night, so when you hear my predictions...keep that in mind.

Well that suspension fits with Brock's five appearances a year schede. We will see him again in 3-4 months.

I do agree with Samphin about attending a WM. Ive been to Live Raw shows, several live PPV and nothing compared to being at WM (WM 26). By far the greatest wrestling experience for me, minus seeing Edge win his first WWE title at New Years Revolution

The Raw after Wrestlemania is always the best Raw of the year. So many debuting NXT folks, and a complete reset (of sorts) of all storylines. I love it.

Sheamus looked really stupid. I agree with the crowd. But heel Sheamus is way better than face Sheamus.

The bait and switch for the World Title was to bad, but needed. And Lesnar is so believable at being a lunatic, that a part of me wondered if the table spot was more stiff than planned.

Neville looked great, as did Kalisto. Byron Saxton is really, really bland when out there by himself. Lawler coming out was much needed.

Surprised to see Ambrose be the one to challenge Cena. Figred they would have a heel come and challenge, for obvious reasons.

Two hours into the show and barely a mention of Roman Reigns, outside of Paul Heyman's promo. Me thinks they are officially stalling his rocket push. Unless he comes out at the end to challenge Rollins.

Really weird and a bit disappointing ending to RAW, you'd think it would have been better but the other 2 hours and 45 minutes was pretty damn good.

I loved the "please retire" chants at Big Show.

I guess Vince isn't pulling the plug on Reigns any time soon. Must be nice to be one of "Vince's guys". I do think its only a matter of time before they have to turn him heel.

The Sting interview makes it appear like he will be back. The crowd broke out into a huge Undertaker chant when he was asked what was next. Sting basically said if the WWE offers anything, he is taking it, which probably means it is already done.

The Bo Dallas came out, did his normal thing and got planted with a Death Drop.

RAW drew 5.35 million viewers this week, which is the highest since the RAW 1000 episode in 2012.

They put on a great show for the expanded audience, too.

I watched the televised version of WM 31 last night and have to say that it came off really well done (no surprise). I would also say that the announce team MADE the UT-Wyatt match. In person, it was extremely boring (other than the zombie sit up/crab walk part) but watching the broadcast gave it an extra sense of drama as the announce team did a great job of painting a picture of Undertaker's last stand versus his predecessor. Excellent job by them.

I also now know why Suplex City trended worldwide. In person, when hey put that on the screen, we didn't understand and thought it was just funny. Didn't know that Brock ad-libbed a line that was picked up on camera. Awesome.

Also, that main event may go down as the hardest hitting one in Wrestlemania history. Super stiff shots from both guys. It was fun in person, but re-watching it and the crazy amount of contact made with their strikes was a joy. Fantastic selling on Brock's part towards the end game as well.

He may go down as one of the greatest of all time depending on nothin three year run goes.

and honestly, all because he beat the Undertaker. Him winning that match has created the Brock Lesnar we see right now. I mean look at Lesnars run pre beating taker, Losing to Cena and the 2nd match to HHH. Now hes built as the unstoppable Beast that no one can beat

  28. Samphin

As he should be, quite honestly, they should have had him beat CM Punk's record with them title and then some. Give him a two and a half year run and then have someone finally vanquish him at his last Wrestlemania and then ave him give a few peeps the rub on the way out. He is so unique that they should really take advantage of it as much as possible.

I actually don't think he needed to beat The Undertaker to have gotten over like this IF like you said they freaking booked him right from day 1. He should have come out and beat Cena in their first match at Extreme Rules and Cena should have taken time off to sell the injuries. He should have beaten Triple H and been done with him, I guess you could make the argument that Triple H wanted his revenge in a rematch but there's no way he should have went over (but of course he did because of his ego). Brock should have just stream rolled through the whole roster.

It's too bad that Vince and others are so insecure that they need to their guys go over just so they can brag to themselves that the WWE > anything and everything.

Which is why I'm still on the fence about Rollins cashing in the MiTB case. On one hand I love it because it made for great drama and a great moment but on the other hand, Brock holding the belt for a year or 2 would have been incredible. It's too bad the WWE and Brock couldn't come to an agreement to have him defend the title every other month at the PPVs or so.

A couple of small WWE/WM news from Dave Meltzer:

Seth Rollins found out he would be winning the WWE title during The Rock/Rousey/Triple H/Stephanie segment.

Members of Roman Reigns' family, especially his dad, were (shockingly) upset he didn't end up winning the WWE title because many of them came to WM just to see him win the title.

Also Meltzer is reporting that the current plan is to keep Brock and Heyman off of TV for awhile, most likely until a month before Summer Slam.

I personally think it would be great if during the MiTB ladder match, Brock comes out of the crowd out of nowhere F5s everyone in the match and climbs up the ladder and grabs the case himself. Then the next night on RAW comes out with Heyman who cuts a promo about how unlike Seth Rollins, Brock isn't going to weasle his way into winning the title and will officially put the case up on the line at Summer Slam. It would not only be something completely different happen during a MiTB match but the WWE could hype it up as you need to get the Network each month for the PPVs because you don't know what could happen.

EDIT: Made a mistake and typed WM instead of Summer Slam regarding the current plans to keep Brock off of TV.

Where did you read that? Because that would be utterly ridiculous, and I am sure a breach of contract, since he is paid PER appearance.

So considering their quick on the fly change.....seems as they were going to have SUPER Reigns take that hellish beating and then use super strength to somehow beat the odds.....John Cena 2.0 all over again. So glad they changed it up. How ridiculous.

Yes that was the original plan.

Imagine WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns in the middle of the ring on the RAW after WM?

Also if they never had the cash in at the end I wonder how differently WM would have been received overall by the fans.

So apparently on the WWE investor call this week the WWE said that their break even in terms of making money on the WWE Network has moved from 500k to somewhere in the 1.5 to 1.7 million mark per year, so the WWE is still a ways off.

As much as I most of the time dog on the current product, the Network overall is fantastic (minus their schedule for adding new content) and I'm really really rooting for this thing to take off and do well.

Pretty good idea, actually. Personally, with the suspension thing though, it will have to be lifted by The Authority, so my guess is he only comes back as a heel and under the eye of StepHHH. At least initially.

I think the WWE could get around that though without The Authority having to make an official announcement. Or they can claim he's still suspended so it doesn't count to put more heat on him.

I guess they could always say Brock suspension is lifted and he can return to work, next week Heyman comes out and says something like "No one tells Brock what to do, he will come back whenever the hell he wants because no one can stop him". Something like that.

Fans probably wouldn't want/need a logical explanation, they'd be too happy Brock is back to care.
