And technically it's two years late, should be 18 seasons. Only reason it's not is because the 97/98 season was shortened to 50 games. They finished that year with a .740 win rate (and won the championship) so would have certainly have made it a 50 win season.

    :D

They are the definition of "consistency".

Funny that they've been considered "old" and referred to as "gearing up for one last run" for the past 6 years now lol.

I think he's one of those lovable jackass types, though. He's on my team so I love him, but even if he weren't, his statements are damned entertaining.

Frank the Tank needs to be a Rocket. He has the best post game in college. We have New Orleans unprotected pick. Possible lottery pick. Let Olajuwon work with him, and we're looking at a piece for Harden to work with for the future.

Frank Kaminsky is the closest to Dirk Nowitzki that I've seen in a long time.... Dirk has longer range but Frank can hit the 3 consistently too..

Oakley was never a jackass. He was clean as a whistle. Sure he committed hard fouls...that was the era he played in. No blood, no foul. And it was so much better

Kaminsky did well last night vs towns and willie cauley stein. Maybe now people will lay off the idea Towns is actually on the level of Jahlil Okafor (he's not) or Deangelo Russell (again he's not). Karl Towns is a good player but he reminds me too much of Tyson Chandler with his offensive limitations. The only two players who should be a consideration for a team picking at one or two are the two I mentioned.

One player who I think has helped his draft stock a lot and answered some questions about his offense is Justise Winslow. I had him around 8 or 9 coming in to this tournament but really I could see him going as high as 5th now. I feel dirty liking Duke players but damn if he's not answered the bell to step up.

That's exactly right, if he's on your team it's viewed as "entertaining" etc. if not? It's like.....oooooooook that's a tad trashy. If it were Melo cussing out Heat fans folks around here wouldn't call it entertaining or cool. It's the nature of fandom.

    That's my point...

    I loved me some Charles, A. Mason, C. Childs, L. Johnson....etc.

Kind of how it was perceived when Bron shoulder bumped Spolestra that first year, Heat fan called it a media witchhunt and read nothing into it. His actions towards Blatt thus far? Well...I've heard what Heat fans think of that.

All a matter of perspective through ones team colored shades.

Once again, Harden embarrassing OKC. 41 points, 6 rebs, 6 assists, 3 steals, and a win.

Dwight finally doing something. It's about damn time.

I think the season is over, we'll have our lottery pick this season. Time to get our player's health back and get back at it next year. We're getting absolutely destroyed lately and our players are just not healthy and will probably need to go through some form of physical therapy in the offseason to get well.

In "what else is new" News...

Luol Deng is scheduled for an MRI....Ira Winderman is reporting that his season might be over.

I am told he had a bruise issue with flare ups from time to time. If I had to bet...I'd say he has a bigger issue in his knee.

If we don't make the playoffs and don't win the lottery we're better off just being 11th or worse and giving the pick.

    Pay the debt.

It limits our flexibility going forward to have The Stepien Rule hanging over us.

Albert Random had a good article on our picks going forward

    Whatever at this point.

Just don't get Wade, Dragic or Hassanity seriously injured the last few games

    Just too much to overcome.

We need to shake up our mix. Deng, Rio, etc we should look into trading

Winning doesn't solve everything. It masks the issues till the day you don't win. Which is always a good bet with any Cleveland team.

Ah well, there goes that. Just too much to overcome. Kinda glad it's at that point of lost playoff hope. Take the rest of the year as prep time for the offseason with health/eval stuff.

Things getting interesting out West though. Like I said a couple weeks ago...please give us a Spurs/Warriors series...really hoping to see that. When Leonard starts dominating on both ends like he has been lately, look the hell out. Kid can PLAY, and the Spurs have seriously picked up their game since he started upping the energy. 7 games with GS would be awesome.

Right now with the tiebreakers we have the 10th worst record in the league lol if the Hornets win a few more games pretty sure they beat us in head to head, we'll move up to 9th. I'll take a top 10 pick if we can get it especially from this draft.. thanks..

If you watch my show...you can see certain guest hosts, that travel with the Cavs, watch every practice, every game, every shoot-around, every post game presser, and speak often with MANY Cavs players who just happened to have played here.

Truth be told..I have a much better line into the Cavs currently than I do the Heat from "media'.

Went to bed knowing the Spurs would be playing the Dubs and without Tiago Splitter. Wasn't expecting much. Been wondering just how well they can do against the rolling Warriors. Woke up, checked the score line and...

In the 24 minutes Kawhi Leonard played, the Golden State Warriors had a 98.8 offensive efficiency.

Kawhi Leonard had 26 points and 7 steals in fewer than 25 minutes, becoming the first person to post that stat line in at least 30 years.

Spurs' fans so in love with Kawhi right now, they're going to go home and make their wives put on cornrows.

Kawhi this year. 99.9 percentile on Defense.

Having posted all that though, I'll say that I really, really hope the Spurs find a way to keep Danny Green in addition to Kawhi, this offseason.

I disagree. You have to go forward with the assumption that Riley won't let this team finish worse than this over the next few years. It took a ton of things going wrong (injuries mostly) to result in a season this poor. I'd take advantage of a potential lotto pick in what should be a pretty good draft. There will be guys like Willie Cauley-Stein, Sam Dekker (who might be the best fit in the entire draft for the Heat), Stanley Johnson, Mario Hezonja (another great fit with his shooting), Frank Kaminsky, and Kelly Oubre around at pick 10. There's also the option to draft a player for another team in a trade. Who knows what Riley could parlay that into.

NBA Legit Title Contenders - how many?

    Spurs
    Warriors
    Cavs

    Too stingy?

    Rockets?
    Hawks?

Is the west a dead cert to win?

I think the Cavs are the likeliest to win the East and might well provide talent mismatches for the West. Real chance Lebron takes the Cavs to a championship this year.

I think the Cavs could have a tough time with Atlanta. The same troubles the Spurs gave the Heat, the Hawks will give the Cavs, and probably more so because they aren't as good defensively 1-5 as the Heat were. When you have the best player on the planet, you have a chance, but we'll have to see if that's enough. I also don't see them beating the Western Conference Champs unless it's the Warriors and their shooters go really cold.

The one difference between the Heat and the Cavs is PG. The Heat were really strong up front but lacked at the PG position. I see the Cavs as benefiting from more balance, Kyrie is an incredible player and gives a PG threat the Heat lacked. Lebron is Lebron. I think they give up a bit on the inside play but overall I think that balance will help them.

I really hope Atlanta do well, they've done wonders this season. However, I don't think we'll see them as dominant as they could be until they get at least one player capable of taking over a game when it's needed.

Houston is too much a one-man-show to beat the other two balanced teams, and their PG situation is too much of a disaster to deal with Curry/Parker - talk about a mismatch.

I cannot see the Cavs losing to anyone in the East. My question for Cavs fans is, who would you rather draw in the Finals? Dubs or Spurs?

I said it right after Bosh was being examind for his lung issue that I think Lebron is a santeria.. I recall a few times while he was here with us a few injuries that i remember thinking, that sucks for that player but that sure makes it easier for us...

baron davis knee injury in the playoffs..
    Rose and Noah

Here's the Albert Random article I referred to

    That's the key takeaway.

By using the pick this year, it shifts our obligation to the Suns, which theoretically takes the 2019 1st rounder off the table.

If you win the lottery and get the #1 pick that's one thing. But I'd much rather have ammunition for a future trade than whoever the 10th pick is going to be.
