I have a difficult time supporting actors who play the KGB agents of this show.I keep hoping someone knocks them off horribly .....not likely to happen while it remains a top series

I agree its good acting and writing but its not for me.

I just don't get the Americans love. I hate this show so so so much. My wife and I started watching it with season 1. I made it half way through season 2 before becoming completely bored of it. I have no trouble suspending belief for most TV shows, but the whole premise of this show is so ridiculous and uninteresting and not entertaining. I mean really, we're supposed to believe the lead male character who wanted to defect so his family could have a normal life then immediately does an about face and buy all into the whole Mother Russia thing, and murdering everything that moves. And his obnoxious shrew wife is just so unbelievable in the role. Their stupid ****ing costumes are ridiculous. I usually don't comment this much on shows I don't like, but I just cannot fathom that it could be on anybody's favorite list. I can't believe this show made it past the pilot episode.

    Updated List:

    1. Adventure Time
    2. Better Call Saul
    3. Justified
    4. Trailer Park Boys - new season starts March 27th
    5. Walking Dead - I think they ran out of money in the special affects budget. Show is starting to look like a bad B movie in that department.

Yup. People who haven't seen The Americans should really try to find a way to do so...and unfortunately that's no easy task. It not being on Netflix is probably why FX gets so little credit, like you say.

Everyone needs to check out Black Mirror on Netflix. Crazy stuff.

Start with White Bear, 15 Million Merits and The Entire History of You. Best show I've seen in years.

Do the ads for the show do a decent job of showing the type and style that it is? Because they've done nothing but make me never see it. Not to say anyone else shouldn't, but it really doesn't look like something I'd enjoy, and I'm usually pretty good at making a quick judgement on whether I'll like something or not.

Finally started watching Gotham and I have to say that despite the overuse of introducing future villians being annoying, it is a very watchable show. My gf and I are hooked and we're beginning to appreciate it as its own thing rather than canon.

We also just got into watching The Goldbergs and we're loving it. It's a hilarious show and we eat up all the 80s stuff too. The grandpa on there is hysterical.

I tried that show, tried to see some humor in it. Carl is funny sometimes, but few of the jokes seem spontaneous to me. I just cannot see much humor in that. They take really funny shows like My Name is Earl, Rules of Engagement, and Raising Hope off the air, and they leave this one on? SMDH.

Most shows I watch are reruns on TBS, FX, etc, like Parks and Recreation, Raising Hope, etc. But for shows in current production, ones I watch regularly are:
Justified. Never miss an episode. Kind of bummed this is the last season. I like Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens, as much as I liked him on Deadwood as Seth Bullock. I think Erica Tazel is simply gorgeous. One of my most favorite actresses since Crystal Fox played Luann Corbin on In The Heat of the Night.
The Big Bang Theory. Never ceases to be funny. I can see the same episode dozens of times and still laugh like crazy. There have been few comedies I can say that about. Seinfeld and My Name is Earl are probably the only ones close.
Modern Family. I rather like it. But liked it better the first two seasons, than I do now.
Cougar Town. Courteney Cox amazes me how she keeps getting hotter and hotter as she gets older. Comparing her to when she was in the Springsteen video for Dancing in the Dark, in the early 80s, to Friends, and now Cougar Town, IMO, she looks currently the best she ever has.
I guess Fargo counts because it is current but in hiatus. From what I read there will be a season two later this year but with new characters.

It's on CBS and therefor gets good enough ratings. Apparently, once people hit a certain age, they become afraid to watch any other channel, lol.

I seldom pay attention to the channel. TBBT is either on ABC or CBS. Not even sure off the top of my head. I save it on DVR and watch when I feel like it.

Started watching Suits. I don't really get the love some people have for this show. Harvey Spector is an interesting character, kind of reminds me of Don Draper. Mike Ross is a terrible character, IMO. Some of it has to do with my expectations. I figured he would be like a Peter Bishop type character. Smart, capable, just using his abilities for the "wrong" thing. Or maybe like Shawn from Psych. Instead, he's vanilla, lacks confidence, not funny, and just plain boring... And I can't get behind a show who's main character lacks interesting qualities. Mike and Harvey have no chemistry. Their personalities don't mesh well, IMO. I don't like their dynamic. And Louis as foil is just awful... He's such a loser character. The idea that he's a top dog in any law firm is unimaginable. He's a cartoon set in the real world.

    Regarding The Americans - need some help;

Haven't seen it yet but I know from a spoiler I picked up along the way that the main female actor is a KGB agent. Is that established early? I don't want to watch 2.5 seasons already knowing the main spoiler, if it is one of course.

Vikings is still good .They are invading Paris now....also historically correct .......names have been changed to protect the guilty :wink2: .That how the Vikings ended up with Normandy .Negotiations at the point of a sword.
Charlemagne comitted the error of dividing his empire between his sons who were constantly warring against each other thus leaving their kingdoms weak and vulnerable to Norsemen conquest.

The Musketeers and Walking dead have ended their cicle.Maybe Black Sails too.

    Currently watching.
    1-Better Call Saul
    2-Vikings
    3-NCIS

I pushed through season 1 of suits. It got a little better towards the end. The cliff hanger got me interested in season 2, so I've watched a few episodes. It's a lot better. Season two feels much cleaner and smoother.

1). Mike, who still kind of sucks, is getting better. Although I hate that he refuses to pound Rachel...
2). I hate the contrived "will they or won't they" story between Rachel and Mike. I hate that story line in all TV shows to be fair.
3). Other characters are becoming more interesting (like Donna, Jessica, etc...)
4.). Louis is getting better. Still somewhat cartoony, and they're showing his lawyering skills. Hard to be Harvey's competition if you constantly look less than.

So far, liking season 2 much more than season 1.

    Here's my current list:

    1. Justified: I'm putting this on the list while I can, because there's only a couple of episodes left and then it's gone forever. I'm really curious to see how they wrap up series. (I didn't watch last night's episode yet)
    2. The Americans: This show has been good once again this season, and the stakes have been raised now that certain things have come to light.
    3. Mad Men: This just came back on Sunday, and my wife and I have been catching up on the first part of the season this week. This season has focused a lot more on the office politics, which has been really interesting. Like Justified, this one is just about over, so you should enjoy it while you can. (Or just wait for Netflix)
    4. Agents of SHIELD: It's crazy how much this show has improved, and how it seems like they are using it to set up bigger events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
    5. iZombie: Has anyone else read the comic book Chew? No? Okay. Well this is about a zombie who works in a morgue and gains the insight of the dead by eating their brains. Then she solves crimes and stuff. This one is more of an acquired taste. (Pun intended)

Also Watching: Arrow, Castle (sort of - I love Fillion but this show is about done), Flash, Modern Family, New Girl, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Just Finished: Archer, The League, It's Always Sunny, Better Call Saul, Hell On Wheels, Parks & Rec

Upcoming: Daredevil, Game of Thrones, Louie, Orphan Black

The Backlog: Community, House of Cards, The Leftovers, Misfits, Powers, Sons of Anarchy, Trailer Park Boys, Vikings, The Walking Dead, Wilfred

One of the few shows left that I really enjoy, The Mindy Project, was just cancelled by FOX. I have a long history where if I really enjoy a show, especially a comedy, it's not likely to last more than three seasons

It only got better as it went on, too. When it started, I liked it, but at the end I was splitting my sides laughing most episodes. Networks cancel these shows people love due to the ratings not being quite what they want. I hope it blows up in their face, because its likely whatever crap they replace it with will suck. FOX get so many great shows that they then kill way too early.

It is hard to find good shows on TV these days. Remember where there were three channels and quality TV? Now there are 5,000 channels and about 96% are reality TV shows?

    Here are the currents:
    Hawaii Five 0
    Survivor
    Blue Bloods sometimes
    NCIS

It's a new month, so I think it's time for me to update my current favorites.

    1. Game of Thrones: Still my undisputed champ of "best show on TV right now." Some folks will nitpick about the changes from the books, but I appreciate the streamlined approach. It's also the first time since the episode "Rains of Castermere" that I'm being surprised on a consistent basis.
    2. Daredevil: I technically already binged through this about a month ago, but if you've got Netflix, and haven't checked it out yet you probably should. Easily the darkest Marvel property to date, it gives me hope that The Punisher could come back in some form and be done well.
    3. Orphan Black: A few years back I went through a "Canadian Sci-Fi with a Strong Female Lead" phase, as I binged through Continuum, Lost Girl, and the first season of Orphan Black. Now in it's third season, Orphan Black may be may favorite Sci Fi show on TV, period, no qualifiers needed.
    4. Louie: This may be the most bonkers comedy on TV right now. Half the time I have no idea where the show or jokes are going. That's a good thing.
    5. VEEP: Another show I gave a shot while I was looking for a specific type of show (Political Satires - see also Alpha House on Amazon and House of Cards on Netflix), I was pleasantly surprised by this quirky show. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is awesome, and I've liked that they've shaken up the status quo this season. Hugh Laurie has just shown up, so I'm interested in seeing what happens next.

Wrapping Up: Justified, The Americans, Mad Men, Agents of SHIELD, The Flash, Arrow, New Girl, Trailer Park Boys, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Upcoming: Orange is the New Black, True Detective

The Backlog: Community, House of Cards, The Leftovers, Misfits, Powers, Sons of Anarchy, Vikings, The Walking Dead, Wilfred

Fall TV I'm Excited About: Not much. Maybe the Muppet Show, and possibly Supergirl. The rest of the network TV schedule looks pretty rough. This year's trends look like it's all about taking movies and building a show around them (Uncle Buck, Minority Report, Rush Hour, Limitless). I don't know that I'm a big fan of that approach. However, I am excited about the way that some networks are using the winter break to bring back "Event Series," like The X-Files and Agent Carter, both of which I am really looking foward to.

I've watched all four seasons to this point and I've become a big fan. There's still some issues. Namely, how much of a soap opera the show has become. Mike and Rachel are (of course) at the heart of it, but now they're trying to drag Harvey into it and that needs to stop. Also, Mike's secret needs to RIP for a bit. Every year, it rears its ugly head. Mostly with no consequences. Now that Louis knows, hopefully the show can move on. Looking forward to season 5.
