Looks like 6-0 at LEAST to me!

That and we have a serious chance to get a few monkeys off our back. Can we get the first win in ages against Baltimore and the first win EVER against Houston?!?!?!

6-0 start, 11-5 overall (tops), possibly 10-6, with losses to New England (still can't beat them and the refs simultaneously at Gillette), Buffalo (on the road + that D + Ryan...ya), Dallas (home game, but no snow and Lett's retired), Indy (Luck is insane...#2 QB in the league IMO...and can deal with pressure), 5th and 6th possible Baltimore (they just seem to have our number, regardless) and/or Houston (never beaten them...even when they were noobs and we were seasoned).

Some very winnable games in the first half, but a brutal second half. But, that's good. Gives a chance to get off to a fast start. And, we play five of the last eight games at home. Hopefully the new stadium configuration will create more of a home field advantage.

Speaking of the stadium renovations, I can't help but wonder if the league made a point of giving us two away games to start the season just to be sure the stadium is ready?

The ideal scenario is us using the early games against "weaker" teams to gel and get our execution down in time for the middle stretch. Survive that and then push into the playoffs. This schedule can be a good thing, but we MUST come away with W's the 4 games imo, and go no worse than 6-2 overall (7-1 preferably). If we go into the middle stretch at 4-4 or 5-3 it's over. Finishing at SD (we always play them well, but that is a brutal trip) followed by potentially the top 2 AFC teams is nasty. We do not want our playoff life resting on those 3 games.

It doesn't look tough, but you can't call it a cake walk in April. We simply don't know who's going to be what. Jacksonville and the Jets could both be much improved, especially the latter. Buffalo is good too.

I thought that with the stadium too. If there is still work left to do, they have a long time to work on it. I've just watched my MLB club, the Cubs, go into a season with an incomplete stadium so it was in the front my my brain.

Miami *should* start pretty fast. If they don't, I wonder how much of a leash they give Joe Philbin.

If they don't go AT LEAST 4-2 the first 6 games they can kiss the playoffs good bye. Call me a homer or crazy but with those first 6 games that could be 6-0 if this team gets to the next level. Bills and Texans at home and those other 4 teams are bottom of the league. Wouldn't that be crazy?

I don't understand why we get shafted for primetime games. I understand the big rating teams will get their games, but we are one of the most popular teams around the world. We aren't a bad team at all. We have star power. We have a blossoming young quarterback. Yet, teams liked the Jets, Chargers, Chiefs, etc. get more games than us. Why?

I don't understand why you are shocked ? Miami has been a mediocre team for a decade or more, Tannehill doesn't turn on TV's and Suh doesn't either. We have collapsed in two straight seasons.....why should Miami get more than what is required ? I know to some its blasphemous to say it, but this is no longer an elite franchise. We are hardly more of a TV draw than St Louis, Buffalo or Carolina, we just don't have a national appeal anymore.

Or Marcus Mariota/Jameis Winston instead of Mettenberger... it's always great to face a rookie QB early on in the season.

The Jets and Chiefs both have more primetime games than us. Who are you turning on your TV to watch on those teams?

At the end of the day, this doesn't matter, but we are too popular and win enough to warrant more national games. Suh and Wake should warrant that alone.

  23. PhinFan1968

PhinFan1968 To 2020, and BEYOND! Club Member

Meh...nobody knows about Wake...and everybody hates Suh. They'll know soon enough.

The Chiefs have Jamaal Charles and some serious TE'age...the Jets have the return of their CBs and they're an NYC market team. No surprise there.

We need playoff success to change it.

I think everyone knows who Cam Wake is by now.

People know all of these offensive players because of fantasy football.

    Defense >>>>> Offense.

Definitely intriguing. I just wish it wasn't that close to Christmas. I was holding out hope that the San Diego game would be earlier in the season, little better weather but oh well.

I agree we get no respect, teams like the Chiefs with crappy offenses are so boring to watch. I usually only end up watching because of fantasy football implications. But in general it seems like the NFL is just trying to screw us purposely. Only two prime time games and we have a short week traveling to New England which we can almost surely chalk up as a lose. Even worse we have one of our home games against a tough division opponent. That is completely unfair, they would never give a home game in London to the Patriots, Colts...really to any good respected franchise. Such BS

I think teams actually offer to go to London and lose a home game. Don't ask me where I read that...

Between the draft and the schedule release nothing generates more meaningless speculation. That time of year I guess. I look forward to training camp, when the speculation is slightly less meaningless.

The Dolphins can beat anyone anywhere. Or lose to anyone anywhere. ****ck the Patriots, they're no tougher to beat than the Bills or Jets, for the Dolphins that is.

Respect comes mets when you beat people's asses not when you ask or demand it. I'm checking the match ups for 2015 and I like most of them. We'll see what happens.

The team agreed to in order to get back in the Super Bowl Hosting rotation. Its now a requirement. Personally, I could care less if the Super Bowl is in Miami, I just want the team to win, but at least we can say that its over and we did our turn.

To the larger point though, the overseas games are NOT about being fair, unfortunately. The league clearly caters to the powerful owners in this regard, and won't require a team like New England to give up a home game.
