Anyone know anything about this guy? http://www.thephinsider.com/2015/4/...t=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter Adam Caplan had this to say: Dolphins signed G/T Jeff Linkenbach, formerly of the Chiefs. Linkenbach can play both guard spots and right tackle in a pinch. He has 36 career starts under his belt with most of those coming with the Colts from 2010-2013. Even with Miami needing guard help, Linkenbach is unlikely to start.*Apr 22 - 2:33 PM Source:*Adam Caplan on Twitter However, last year when the Chiefs needed to replace Albert (s******!) And brought in Linkenbach Andy Sims said this: Chiefs signed G/T Jeff Linkenbach. It's a decent pickup for a team that has lost Branden Albert, Jon Asamoah, and Geoff Schwartz since the start of free agency. Linkenbach isn't overly effective, but can play both guard and tackle and has made 33 starts for the Colts over the last four years. He turns 27 in June.*Wed, Mar 12, 2014 04:55:00 PM Source:*Andy Simms on Twitter
This looks like a solid depth signing...he should be able to push Thomas and Turner and even take one of their spots if we don't draft someone better. I was really pushing for La'el Collins in the 1st but this move seems to give us more flexability to take the BPA at 14 if we do not trade down.
Good depth. Still can't help that the guy's name sounds like Nickleback and Linkin Park had a failed abortion; and now it tours the country making people's ears bleed.
Good veteran depth on the OL is always a good thing. We've all seen what happens when a solid starter goes down and we don't have anything behind him. Also slightly lessens the fear of Dallas Thomas being a total mess in the preseason and torpedoing the whole offense.
I want to pronounce it lingenfelter for some reason...like the ridiculous car modification place http://www.lingenfelter.com/ Solid depth, wont complain one bit. Just gives a bit more flexibility like stated...really have no clue what to expect in the draft this year. Starting to get excited as a result haha
"Out in Luckenbach, Texas ain't nobody feelin' no pain" I'm old too I reckon. I see the sign for that town every time I drive to Lubbock (via Big Spring...RT's hometown) and think of that old *** song.
I don't like that the Dolphins have given Philbin a bunch of "emergency only" starters at Guard, because if history is any guide he'll pick the worst one and play them out of position. I wish the front office would have signed a "name" type player at Guard- Even if they're an inexpensive stop gap, or not very good in themselves in that at least Philbin will have something besides his own offensive line self-scouting ability to guide his decision making.
