My bad I misread what you wrote as I was talking about TV broadcasts. I'm not sure if the WWE ever piped in crowd noise in the actual arena, but would be shocked if they never did before yesterday, I know WCW use to, especially with the Goldberg chants.

I heard that Smackdown Last Night had two fans run in the Ring and start giving each other Rock Bottoms over and over during the Cena and Bryan tag match with all the Wrestlers watching especially Bryan who was closest to them just watching with a Smile on his face.

Yeah it was a few people, maybe 5 or so. There's a video of it on Youtube. Kind of funny to see.

Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the remainder of the UK tour as a precautionary measure so it's obvious the health concerns are legit. Bryan was suppose to be Cena's opponent on RAW this Monday but it was switched to Barrett.

The WWE isn't sure if Bryan will be able to wrestle at Extreme Rules, he's going to get his neck checked out once he gets back to the US.

    Some WWE news:

Daniel Bryan, on top of his neck problems, also suffered a concussion against Sheamus on the 4/2 edition of Smackdown.

Apparently there are still on going issues with the WWE and Steve Austin, the WWE issued a cease and desist order to Pro Wrestling Tees to take down a lot of Austin shirts. People also think Cena using the stunner is a way to piss off Austin as the WWE has been very protective of that move. The major factor in why there is heat with Austin is because he turned down Tough Enough even though Austin had a legit excuse with scheduling conflicts.

Bull****. Cena wouldnt do that. This is for a future angle, or Cena got premition from Steve. He wouldnt help Vince with those mind games to past guys. Too much of a business "man" to do that.

I don't believe that at all.

Cena and Austin are tight. Also, Austin wanted to do Tough Enough, but just had a scheduling conflict. It happens A LOT in TV.

I don't really believe the Cena stunner stuff either. I think people are looking into things too much.

Austin addressed the Cena Stunner and made a pretty good point about it. He doesn't seem to have any issues with Cena using it, either.

Reports that WWE have banned the Curb Stomp. If true, that sucks, good, believable finisher.

Yeah unfortunately it is true. Sucks that he established it and it's very over as a finisher and now they decide to get rid of it.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that the Curb Stomp has not been banned however the DDT that Rollins used last night will be his new finisher going forward.

So I'm assuming the Curb Stomp will be like Orton's Punt, where he does it once and awhile for storyline purposes.

You know..I can get behind this...

It was getting TOO MUCH play and losing it's effectiveness, since so many guys take it, that you have some guys sell it like crap and thus damage the move's reputation.

Just do it at PPV's or in a run in..but on TV, use that new DDT that looked pretty nice.

Yeah I'm fine with it too, only have him use it on a big angle or in a big match where he gets the win with it. I'm pretty tired of seeing everyone kick out of everyone's finishers 2 or 3 times in each and every match since what 1998 or so (blame Austin and Rock for that trend). I think it's time that finish moves actually stay finish moves as it takes away from matches because fans are used to multiple finish moves/false finishes.

  20. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Personally, I like when a wrestler has multiple ways to end a match, credibly. The reason behind the banning wasn't due to over exposure though. It was due to head injury concerns. Which...admirable to a degree, but you can argue that a misplaced punch can do just as much damage. And it may not be banned officially, but it is banned. They wiped the video montage from his intro completely of the move as well.

I also noticed that Dean Ambrose changed his "Dirty Deeds," finisher from a spike bulldog to a double arm DDT. My guess is for the very same reasons.

Ambrose has been using the DDT since I believe November/December. Personally I never really liked the spike bulldog and think the DDT fits his character better.

ROllins new move sucks. It's almost the same as the DDT Amrbose does without the double hook. MEh. Curbstomp was new and fresh.

Yeah, I know he changed it a while back and it was retconned as the dirty deeds, despite being a completely different move.

The bigger problem was that the signature moves are now, essentially, the same. The spike bulldog and the curb stomp were at least different looking. Now, both guys have a transitional move as their finishers. But I guess if John Cena can get by with a fireman's carry, and Big Show can use a punch, then DDT variations will have to suffice.

I think the main thing should be the WWE to re-establish finishing moves as finishing moves. Enough with every match there being multiple false finishes and wrestlers kicking out of 2 and 3 finishers. Save that for the super big/important matches, stuff like that should happen on episodes of RAW or every single PPV match.

Hey if Cena can get a fireman's carry over more power to him, after all The Rock got an elbow drop over and Hogan got a leg drop super over.

  26. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Theoretically, a leg drop should be pretty devastating. A 300 pound guy jumping straight up and down on your throat? If that happened in real life, you would be pretty messed up. So I always thought his finisher was believable to a degree. Cena's is supposed to be a Death Valley Driver but has been softened and modified to what it is today...a fireman's carry.

It would be nice to see someone bring back the power bomb as a finisher. Just a solid, high impact move that always looks devastating. In fact, Roman Reigns could (and should) use a version since he has a history with The Shield. Him, or Luke Harper using an Awesome Bomb as a finisher coming off of what he did to Ambrose at WM.

Also, you guys have any note rest in somewhat of a fantasy draft? Basically, it would be set up like Fantasy Football, we take our pics and track our wrestlers for a year (not super strict, just anecdotally) and at this time next year, we review how well we did.

I heard that on the air today while driving around and was intrigued by it more than I thought I would be.

I completely agree that with Reign's limited move set he should be doing some form of power bomb or maybe even a power slam or Oklahoma slam. He's missing a transition move like that in his arsenal.

Yes 100% with the power bomb. It's such a great looking move and it always gets over. Reigns absolutely should be using the power bomb as his finish instead of the spear.

Also, with the Curb Stomp gone, wonder if they'll take away Balors double stomp from the top?

I personally don't like the double stomp but can't see why they would as it has nothing to do with the head.

  32. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Double stomp impacts to the midsection, so I would think not. The reasoning behind the curb stomp being banned was that it was a direct shot to the head (and somewhat of an unprotected bump to the canvas). That double stomp always looks like a high ankle sprain in the making to me, though.

  33. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

So, if we can get four or five folks to commit, we can probably run a five round fantasy draft. I assume we keep it to WWE/NXT as really no one watches TNA, ROH, Luchas Undergound or other, right?

    Yes.

Also I meant the double stomp as it "spikes" the guy into the ground, could cause head problems, who knows.....(like the one he did the the back of Nevilles head)

Lucha Underground and NXT for me. I can't watch the regular WWE product right now. LU might be the best promotion on TV right now.

  39. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

If we are adding other Feds, we have to agree to it with the four or five of us participating. We also have to establish ground rules if we are betting on it since anecdotally, how do you argue a guy from NXT like say, Kevin Owens, who may lose his title, but be promoted to WWE. Is that a stock up or stock down situation? It's going to be more subjective than objective, I believe.

Furthermore, I would encourage you to give WWE another chance, Odin. There are some incredible matches going on on their PPVs, including the tag title match tonight (insanely good), the Chicago Street Fight between Ambrose and Harper (Harper appears to be taking my advice and developing the power bomb as his finisher), and my surprise match of the night, Big Show versus Roman Reigns. What an awesome brawl that was. The level of destruction they had, added to the match as opposed to overshadowed it. Roman keeps doing that, and he will make friends in the audience. Kudos to Show as well. I know people don't like him, but he is the best working big man in the game today. Sure fire Hall of Famer, and one we will miss when he is gone.
