Well.. Eagles and Mathis aren't really getting along (Mathis is also skipping voluntary workouts) and he costs $5.5 mil this season ($6 mil next season). You never know.. Eagles might cut him if they can't trade him.
It makes you wonder if the rumored trade with the Eagles might have been Mathis for Jordan. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the Dolphins sign him if the Eagles do decide to cut him if they can't trade him.
Chip would have asked for a draft pick from us regardless. Probably Dion and a 4th for Mathis which I would have been fine with.
First of all I hope Dion can get on track and overcome his substance abuse problem. Wish him luck! Sad we lost out on such a great talent. Get your head out your *** before its to late. What could have been? Agree this makes him biggest bust. These things happen, not like were gonna miss him he never played.
Jeff Ireland took a massive steaming dump on the 2013 off-season, my god. "I have picks and I have money" too bad you had no brains and know-how. Jelani Jenkins so far the only pick out of 9 worth a damn and he pissed away millions and millions of dollars on FAs which aren't even on the team 2 years later they sucked so much, Brent Grimes the only signing that was a hit. 2013 off-season might go down in infamy as the most absolute trash way to piss away assets.
Like I said over a week ago..."I think he's making a Ricky decision." Was obvious so I'm not surprised...disappointed, only from the standpoint he's making a killing (except this year), and we'll need to fill yet another hole. I think they were planning on it already though, considering some of the invites they had come to town. This isn't a season-killer, but it sure sucks. Time to soldier on!
I hardly consider him a hole to fill, since he couldn't even see the field, and was being put in the wrong position anyway.
Not a starting hole, no, and we could likely fill it in the lower rounds, but he was at least a rotational guy.
Its just sad. How disappointing he's made me. I was excited when they drafted him. Now he's gone and let his teammates and the fans down yet again. Damn shame.
I don't think it changes anything, except maybe an additional reminder about how important character/off-field issues can be.
It doesn't, except for the fact we likely won't have a pick that the Eagles were going to ship our way for him.
What a f'ing joke. Really pissed. He and Ireland should go somewhere and have a circle jerk. Ridiculous. Oh well. I just hope these f'ing mistakes are a thing of the past just like little Jeffy.
Karma, I love it. No more excuses now for my friend and his Jordan jersey after years of flak for my Culpepper jersey. Don't get me wrong, he wins the argument war since Culpepper over Brees dwarfs the 3rd overall & 2nd rounder lost in Jordan but we get to share our #1 and #2 blunder misery reminders as Dolfans
Why? Because its suppose to be "legal"? If so the fact is it isnt and he is paid millions and told not to use those drugs.
UGH! Fine forget man! What could have been with guy! Damn! Gotta be the worst bust in Dolphin history!
I am so done with this guy. Has hardly ever been on the field and not even come close to playing up to his draft position. Just cut him. He wont see the field this year and has zero trade value at this point. I don't even want to keep his rights to try and get a 7th round pick for him next year. Biggest bust in Dolphins history. Jeff Ireland - The gift that keeps on giving.
What? No, rather the curious desire to smoke some weed and lose millions, ie the Rickey Williams/Josh Gordon mindset
More like finding out that you ran over the annoying squirrel that has been going through your trashcans the past few months
Not a loss that way, but it was a total waste of our precious resources....and we gave up a 2nd to take him, so essentially in 2013 - we lost our 1st and 2nd. Way to build a team Ireland
Yet many hated on fans who called for his ouster. [sarcasm] They were disloyal, not "true fans" and should "go root for another team". I hope the idiots that made those comments go do "you know what" to yourselves.
I really admire those that are looking at this as a glass half full situation, because to me it really just pisses me off. I just can't understand how we could move up in the draft to select this guy knowing he was recovering from an injury at the time, presumably knowing about some kind of substance abuse history, and with (obviously) no real fit in our defensive scheme. I mean, you may of well just handed our first two draft picks back to the commissioner. UFB.
and he's pretty close to winning the All-Around-the-NFL award. 2013 Dolphins draft could be one of the All-Time worst in NFL history.
It's like this franchise only wants to hear one tune , Talking Heads , Same As It Ever Was ..... Same As It Ever Was .....
Screwed over himself worse. Had opportunity to make millions and millions. What a buffoon. Can't wait to see that cut made official. Freakin junkies.
