Even if denied thankfully I think this closes the door on him going to Miami at 14.....Could be ineresting in the supplemental though...Offer a 3rd...

If he is found to be 100% not involved in the murder, I would take him in the first round easily.

Too bad the first round is in 5 hours, and he's not meeting with police any time soon.

Interesting.....I'm not sure I'd do a 3rd on him, because that means we lose our 3rd next year right ? 4th definitely though

Man imagine trading back a few spots from 14, grabbing a 3rd and then drafting Strong in the 1st and Collins in the 3rd? Do ittttttt....

If he is worth a 1st this year, he is worth a 1st next year.

I think apart from the police questioning him, there is the side issue the child might be his. So apart from the murder issue, you've got a paternity issue and a child that's fighting for his life. It's a good idea for him to excuse himself from this draft and square everything out.

Actually a future pick is considered to be worth one round less than an actual pick.

I am just saying. He better have all his ducks in a row before talking to anyone. Even if he is innocent, just saying the wrong thing out of frustration could land him as a suspect.

Many innocent people are in jail because they didn't have a lawyer and listen to their lawyer.

If he had nothing to do with this, and as far as we know RIGHT NOW, he doesn't. Then I respect the man of putting a matter of this importance ahead of the NFL GAME. If by the supplemental draft everything is kosher, you definitely make a play for that kind of person/player.

Police just aren't necessarily going to meet with him and clear his name immediately after. It isn't easy to disprove a negative.

He's not considered a suspect at this point. The police said they would interview him when/if they want to.

Dang, CK called this on twitter right when it came out. Smart move by him - hopefully he is innocent and this just a terrible tragedy.

Scoopage: Agent for LSU's La'el Collins trying to pull him from this draft allowing him time to clear his name then enter Supplemental Draft

    SB Nation:

"La'el Collins' agent is attempting to pull him from this weekend's NFL Draft and instead enter the Supplemental Draft, Jay Glazer is reporting. Glazer reports the decision will ultimately be left up to the NFL.

Collins is scheduled to meet with police regarding the shooting death of ex-girlfriend Brittany Mills, who was eight months pregnant at the time. Police say Collins is not a suspect, and reports suggest the meeting is taking place in part to determine the paternity of the child, who survived delivery.
From LSU, Collins is one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the draft and was expected to be a high selection before this story broke. Since then, multiple NFL teams have reportedly called Collins "undraftable" until he is officially cleared of any wrongdoing.
Last year's supplemental draft took place in July, with just four players eligible. Teams bid draft picks from the following draft on players available in the supplemental draft -- if a team bids a third-round pick on Collins and wins, for example, that team forfeits its third-round pick in the 2016 draft."

Btw, looks like NFL rejected the petition to remove Collins from the draft and into the supplemental draft.

If I owned an NFL team I would take him in the fourth, then immediately suspend him. I wouldn't let him in the facility until he is completely exonerated.

He is a top 5 pick talent wise, so even if there's a 50% chance he committed the murder which it doesn't seem there is I think he is worth a 2nd round pick (ignoring the PR fallout of drafting a murderer- pure talent gamble)

He's not a top 5 talent. But if he's still there are number 2... oh lawd. What a steal. I would of been happy with him at 14, so I'd be thrilled with him in the 2nd. Parker + Collins makes us big winners in this draft. Regardless of any other picks from here on out.

I'm sure teams did their homework on him prior to the draft, and think if some team already though he was a good guy, they wouldn't hesitate drafting him in the 2nd rd. Any team that had any question at all about him, will not make a move now.

I have no idea how good he is, but I saw him 4th or 5th on a lot of people's big boards and even 3rd on one.
