http://www.downthedrive.com/bearcat.../miami-dolphins-will-be-happy-signed-jeff-luc Man, how sweet would it be if this kid turns out to be a diamond in the rough? I really want a solid MLB on this team. With Suh taking up blockers in the middle, it could really help out the D a great deal. Sounds intriguing. Lets hope.
So in your scenario Jelani Jenkins has ceased to exist? You'll do anything for ratings for that radio show won't you?
3-4. We drafted a NT in the 2nd round in Jordan Phillips. Not saying that's what we'll do, but it's not out off the table is it? Especially if we get a new coaching staff in 2016. (More than likely we do). We have the players for it I think.
Uhhhh....we didn't just pay suh a fortune to put him out of position. If anything the Phillips pick is to give suh the Dolphins version of fairley. Huge mofo that requires dbl teams cause he's just huge
So put Wake, Vernon, and Suh in roles that they haven't played much so we can maximize the undrafted lb talent on the roster... That's just crazy enough to work, but only if we move Grimes to SS. (Yes I remember, ZT can play FS this time...)
Am I missing something here? I thought he was projected to play FB and ST's?? God knows we could use a tank for the goal line and short yardage situations. I know Ajayi has tremendous fight and some decent size, but he has more of a history of avoiding the defensive walls than breaking through them. I would rather see him a tank at the line of scrimmage and a bone crushing missile on ST's coverage.
Hopefully Jeff Luc stays healthy and studies more film. But the recruiting accolades never turned into production on the field for the big hitting linebacker. Luc was often injured during his time in Tallahassee, and for a time had trouble picking up the defense.
im totally intrigued by him, unless he doesn't have the brains, he kept flashing at the senior bowl, even in coverage, he runs very well, has an incredible physique for the position, hits hard, didn't have anyone of note playing in front of him, i mean that dynamic [great players in front of him} certainly will change, he's definitely someone that we should keep a close eye on, because if it clicks for him and he's got it upstairs, all the other variables and measurables are there for him to be a player. fwiw, that game against ohio state, he went into that game leading the fbs in tackles, also, urban meyer made it a point to seek him out after the game and say sweet nothings to him.
Imagine if none of them ever play a game in the NFL. While non drafted free agents certainly have made NFL rosters, the fact all three of these LB,s went undrafted by all 32 teams certainly should give pause to the expectations any of these players will be anything more than possible special team players in the NFL.
Thank god you're here, that little bit of optimistic fantasy was running around unchecked. Seriously are you like this in real life too? Do you walk by someone's birthday party and bust in jam your junk in the cake? God forbid people are happy.
I have no problem with people being happy. I just happen to believe in being realistic in your expectations. I hope all three of these players come in and have great careers with the Dolphins. I am also realistic enough to understand when every team in the NFL passes on a player in the draft, the chances of an undrafted free agent to come in and have a highly productive career is usually very unlikely. Certainly it happens on occasion, but the chances are slim. I happen to have liked the players the Dolphins drafted and I think they might get 3-4 solid staters out of this draft over the long term. Sorry if my pessimism over these free agents doesn't meet your happy measurement, but obviously all the NFL teams were as pessimistic about their chances of being productive starters as I am. Otherwise someone would have drafted them.
That's not what happened. He wasn't expecting it. He said "imagine if" and then put haha at the end knowing it wasn't realistic or gonna happen. That's not a prediction or an expectation. That's just him dreaming out loud. More than that though, why do you feel like you should be the arbiter of what type of expectations people should have? You prefer realistic expectations then fine do that for yourself, why make that decision for others?
Exactly how am I making decisions for others? I simply stated that the realistic expectation is that none of these free agents will likely become starters in the NFL. That happens to be my view, but that doesn't mean other people can't disagree with my view. This is a discussion forum and everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. Many people have disagreed with my comments over the years I have been posting on here and that certainly doesn't offend me. If everyone just came on here and agreed with one another all the time, it would be a very boring site. The fact my opinion on this issue has you so upset is actually quite surprising to me, but I guess I hit a nerve with you. I guess the fact I still see this as an 8-8 team in 2015 must really make you think I am the eternal pessimist. Of course my prediction that the Dolphins will contend for the division under a new head coach in 2016 probably seems too optimistic to you from someone like me.
