This video covers the whole 2014 season game by game. I thought everyone would be interested. Sorry if it has been posted already.
Nice video, The audio is terrible. either use the game sound or the music but not both at the same time please. There's no doubt in my mind we have the best uniforms in the league and I hope we use the Aqua on Aqua more often. They are so sharp. I think we'll miss Wallace's presence on the field more than we think
I have a lot of hope this season. RT17 is the real deal and I think this year is the year he shows it. He has all the weapons he needs, the D should be quite a bit better, he has the experience. Time to put up for him and the staff. Looking forward to January football.
In what way? I noticed he had a few nice catches too. But I'm pretty confident in the new WR corps, especially Kenny Stills taking over for Wallace.
It's amazing that people can call Matthew Stafford's mechanics "lazy" and yet watch that video and rate Tannehill as a better prospect. I'm sorry but that's just not true. What I see is a guy who isn't very quick in his lower body. He's very often late to set his feet and as a direct result, his accuracy is not very impressive--sometimes disappointing. That video shows a lot of throws that are behind the intended target (the majority in fact have placement issues) even when there's not considerable pressure on the QB. Because the inaccuracy is measurable at 10-15 yards, we see big misses in the 30-45 range. Tannehill has A LOT he can do to improve and he's far from being a top-10 kind of QB. He might have the pure speed and the arm strength to impress you but in terms of good QB'ing...videos like this show that he's very average and the stats don't say anything different. I'm happy to roll with him for the time being, especially with all the new weapons, but it's safe to say that Miami's QB is not a big threat to most defenses.
Very much a glass half empty assessment. You have to factor intent into any discussion on accuracy. Was the ball behind the receiver bc it was off target or was the QB throwing to a spot on the field, perhaps away from an oncoming defender? There's really no way to gauge a QBs aim point from the outside looking in but on the whole I think RT shows above average accuracy. It's not like he was working to a group of bad ball catchers with overly wide catch radiuses who created tons of seperation so his completion percentage alone suggests there wasn't any significant accuracy issue. This new group of WRs is going to make him look better regardless of if he improves individually. Better route runners with more size and stickier mits. What's not to like? RT has his flaws, the pocket presence is a work in process, though I think it'll improve as he sharpens his ability to read/anticipate coverages. I certainly prefer a QB who reads down field well to a guy who's terrific at avoiding the rush while struggling to decipher what's happening in the secondary. Is he top 10? Nah. But most of the best QBs are well into their 30s and as they decline or leave the game RT is well positioned to ascend into that top 6-8 range.
True, there were a lot of routine plays in there. What you don't see though, is receivers turning those routine plays into splash plays, which is as much of an issue as anything. That's another thing I expect to change for the better in 2015.
Only glimpse we had of that was Charles Clay. He was like a bowling ball rolling downhill after the catch.
Hahaha...I know, I know...but I really should talk to you about low birth-weight if you have a moment...
He threw the most passes to Landry, who caught his passes an average of 4 yards from the LOS (subtracts yac from ypc).
I think like anything in sports, there is a "feel" factor involved. The majority of these comeback plays, Tannehill is on-target. The plays where he has to lead a receiver, he is throwing to that receiver instead of leading him.....consistently (disregarding everything else, including where the defender is). What's impressive are the "traffic" throws. Man, some of those are special. And please give it up for Dion Sims. Several of those plays do not happen if his head was not on a swivel. Fantastic blocking!
The kid is already top 10 by many accounts...another year development/improvement like last year from being top 5, optimistically. He certainly has some things he doesn't do great...pocket maneuvering is my #1 gripe. Pulling it down an running to avoid an exploding pocket, another. If he fixed or even markedly improved those, he'd be scary.
