We are in desperate need of a striker after giving Balotelli away, who in his own right is an extreme disappointment. The kid needs to grow up and show some effort. This Torres thing is the icing on the cake of depression for me.
Someone give me three players to compare (works better if they are all relatively play the same position) and I will show you a wicked site.
Website: www.squawka.com Great soccer stats website. Has a section where you can compare up to five players and then add whatever criteria you want from a lengthy list. I chose the three players Eop mentioned and then some significant stats, but there are many others for you to compare as well. Right Foot goals, Left Foot goals, Headers won, tackling percentage, etc. etc. etc. Here is the three player comparison. http://www.squawka.com/comparison-m...n_score/successful_passes/shot_accuracy#total
In my Andres Cantor voice...dramatical final... Glad LFC were on the right side of that... crazy doesn't begin to describe it.
So, the Timbers got me into soccer and with their MLS season over I decided that I needed a EPL team. I have chosen Swansea. Any websites a Newb EPL fan should know about?
There will never be a #8 as good as he... but it is interesting that he may be coming to Los Angeles. I'll actually go see an LA Galaxy game now.
This is comedy gold. PS. I still don't like the guy, but I dislike him a little less after that.
No man, that is Muller, just like the title suggests. Robben would've fallen over and look for a ref (yes, even though it is practice) after the second cross over. Spoiler
I wonder if Blatter will show up to the Canada-China opening match at the women's world cup in Canada. I wonder what the boo birds would register on the richter scale. He'll be at the final...which would be awesome if it was USA vs Switzerland, the home of the feds who took him down. Or USA-England would work considering England's been blacklisted by FIFA since their media started going in on the corruption years ago.
Sepp is back for more.... TBH, it was between Sepp and a Jordanian prince... not sure there was someone to root FOR here.
I've read a formation of a rival association to FIFA is a possibility. If so, discussions will be started by the European and North American nations.
I'll be watching it.. I watched the last one... and also saw the Olympics... It'll be a major disappointment if the US side doesn't make at least the semi's. They've actually got a tough group if you look at their competitors... Australia, Sweden and Nigeria... Aus and Swe made the 2011 QFinals.
Yeah there always is. I think 10,000 of the tickets for the final were bought by people in the US. I like that there are a number of teams who could equally win: Japan, USA, Germany, Sweden, Canada, France, Brazil. And then the darkhorses who could sneak up: England, Spain, Australia, Switzerland, Norway.
Sepp Blatter has resigned... I think the Women's World Cup and the timing therein had an affect here. Yes it's good he's gone, but well, not to be overly political, but sometimes you don't know what you've got till he's gone... Recall Iraq / Hussein.
Well now that he's no longer Pres of FIFA (well technically he is until they vote on a new one) he doesn't have to go to the women's world cup. No way he would step foot in Canada now, he's going someplace where he won't be extradited/arrested. Would have been funny to see a Mountie walking him out of the stadium!
Brutal on England Women's team yesterday. But it does solve my dilemma of who to root for on Sunday.... had it been USA vs England... well... I would have been happy either way. Didn't expect them to beat Japan but wow in the second half how many chances can you get to go ahead? Ugh... has to be the worst OG I've seen in a long long time. Thought the Japanese player was close to being offside as well... very close. Of course the Fox Announcers were so confusing over the incident it was pathetic.
calling it WW2 all over again, first we beat and remove the threat of Germany, then we beat and remove the threat of Japan.
I hope England beat Germany for 3rd. Who would've thunk it - a gritty England team people can't help but cheer for. I always felt Japan would win in 2011. Now I think the USA is riding such a high and they'll end the drought. First ever rematch in a women's final too. I think there have only been two in men's though anyway.
I dont think england beats Germany.... That team is torn to bits. I would have been ok to lose my bet on england if the result came any other way than it did against Japan thanks to Laura. That was wow, pretty sure Vegas erupted.
Maybe some of it had to do with the sun, and that one defender they pulled who gave up two goals. But still, US was going to win whether it was 5-4 or 3-2. First 20 mins were exciting. Though I was hoping Japan would breathe some life back in, which they kinda did when they made it 4-2. Then when US got the 5th you just knew even if Japan made it 5-4 or something, they just would've scored again. I know people don't like PK's...but they do provide for a big dramatic moment, which made 1999 so exciting.
Not sure if anyone is following the Gold Cup but man that finish between Trinidad & Tobago vs Mexico was ridiculous LOL
