man its getting kinda fun watching this guy speak, articulate his opinions on the scheme and his payers, watching him roam the field communicating, his body language, I'm looking for any signs that scream to me this is a potential good head coach with all the characteristics that a good one needs...im seeing a few signs but not ready to go full metal jacket on a prediction, but there are some encouraging things...we've only had him one year.. He seems to have an ability to set expectations, and hold players accountable to meet them, and they seem to want to reach those expectation so they don't let him down.
I'd agree with that. Very well spoken guy too. If the team is struggling, and Philbin is fired halfway through, I sure hope they pick Lazor to be the interim HC, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick Coyle instead. However, that's all hypothetical. Sure, I don't have a lot of faith in Philbin, but I think this team is going to win in spite of him this year. I think we have enough good, solid pieces in place on offense, outside of the OL anyways, same goes for Defense, except for LB.
He is just the man. One of the bright young guys around. So glad last off-season's OC search went the way it did.
unfortunately, I worry that the best case scenario to keep Lazor as our HC would be if we have a crappy season and Philbin gets fired. With the optimism I have now - which is more than I've had in many years - that would be disappointing. If we finish 9-7 and just miss the playoffs and Philbin is fired, I worry that CK's scenario with Mangini could take place, whereas if Lazor is promoted to HC and shows promise, I can easily see Ross keeping Lazor as our HC.
I am a huge Pro-Lazor guy. That said, we haven't seen all his flaws because he hasn't had to be the Head Coach and be exposed to all that focus and criticism yet. So.... Yes, he seems good, but who knows.
I don't know, I think he is a huge up in comer that could possibly turn into the next great head coach and I sure hope when that time comes....that it is as HC of the Miami Dolphins.
Surprisingly, I think Lazor and Philbin share some of the same personality traits in that they both are even-keeled, don't get too high or too low, and seem to be detail-oriented. The difference is that Lazor seems firmer and more confident, with leadership qualities. If you knew nothing about the Dolphins and were introduced to both of them at the same time, you'd think Lazor was the Head Coach and Philbin the OC.
Looks you in the eye! Also, post-game speech I bet he doesn't use cue cards. However, he may not be as good at cleaning litter or orgnanizing binders as his boss.
yeah I like what he's shown thus far, we know from players that he's fair but tough, I like that, we know he knows how to talk to the media, we know his scheme helped the run game all by itself, what I don't like thus far, he doesn't run ryan enough in the read option imo, not enough rollouts relative to the talent, and doesn't make ryan understand the importance of running for positive yardage..
