I picture the groundskeeper going ape **** when he sees what they've done to his field... kind of like the greenskeeper in Caddyshack.

I would have to think that the field itself (grass & dirt) will be 100% new once this is all done. Hopefully one of the best in the league because of that too.

our previous turf is well known for being one of the best surfaces in the league, lets hope the new stuff grows the same..maybe when you change everything like that its not possible to duplicate what you had, idk.

We could exploit our speed an put in artificial turf, but then we also like our players to have healthy knees.

I know that it once was, but that rep took a serious his while the Marlins were infesting the building. I don't remember. Did we do a total overhaul after they left, or was it just a resodding?

If I were the groundskeeper, I'd be pretty excited about a field rebuild with the chance to put in the latest underground technology. And, just say no to any kind of synthetic turf ... EVER. It's proliferation has been the greatest negative to the game in the last 30 years, imo.

There's virtually no reason a field should not get better with every complete rebuild and application of better soil technology and the finest sod.

Augusta National rebuilds parts of its course every year (of course, they have more money than is imaginable to put into it; but still ...).

I was lucky enough to be down on the field last year. IMO, the field was amazing - softer than artificial turf but still faster than any grass I had ever been on. There might be better fields out there, but I've never been on a better surface

its fake, noise is not noise in this case, the only real hope is the sections that were moved 20 feet closer to the field.

the closer the fans are to the field the more tangible the energy is, the closer to the field the fans are the more inclined they are to engage into the game, all the seats that have not been moved closer to the field will fall into the same category that was there before, passive and unengaged, because they are just to far away, its not their fault, the good news is that 25 thousand or so fans that have been moved closer to the field will give them the boost they never felt before in this building.

more good news from the roof is that it will give fans more energy once inside the building because they will not be battling the direct sun and index and will therefore have more energy to participate instead of sitting in the corridors dealing with heat issues..The roof will actually mae it more conducive for fans to sit int their seats early and enjoy the pregame festivities, this bodes well for intros.,

There really wasn't that much they could do as far as bringing all sections closer b/c of the previous structures. Absent of building a brand new stadium they were extremely limited.

Even with a hole in the roof the crowd noise will stay inside the stadium a little bit longer. No, upper deck fans are not going to be on top of the opposing teams but I can easily see us amongst the league's top venues in creating false starts. IMO it's going to be an entirely different feel, dare I say one that JRS has never experienced. As long as the product on the field is what we expect, want and deserve of course.

The thing about those seats close to the field is, they're usually WAY MORE EXPENSIVE for the "common" rowdy fans that will make a difference. Hopefully I am wrong.

ya know I'm appreciative of the changes and what ross has done, and understand there is no way to move 75% of the seats closer to the field unfortunately, but to take about a chunk of that 25% and make this ridiculous living room section right in the middle of the warzone was a very bad idea..I'm sure they will make their money off their little project but it absolutely deters from the main objective and that was and always should of been to enhance the home field advantage...they strayed from that mission badly.

I disagree, were not gonna be near the lead in causing false starts..It will be a better atmosphere than it was, for the reasons I've stated before, roof will keep heat off fans allowing them to want to sit in their seats earlier and longer, the roof will keep the sun off the fans allowing them to have more energy to engage, the 20 thousand or so seats that have been moved 20 feet closer will make a difference, but when your starting point is last place, your not gonna make that type of jump.

But if fans HEAR more noise, they'll be inclined to MAKE more noise, which is also impacted by the roof. The roof will hold more noise in the stadium...it might not be as loud as you want it to but it WILL be louder, scientifically speaking, no point in arguing against that.

no argument here, it will be louder than what we've had, 20,000 seats closer to the field, and the roof itself trapping noise, and the positive effects that the roof will have on the people in the stadium..

heres more science, our upper deck is the largest in the nfl in terms of seating capacity and also farther from the field than any other venue.

It will be better than the cancer we've had to deal with for a few decades, but its not going to be intimidating..it will be better.

Lower level seats at a football game are kind of overrated. I think the best seats in the house are the upper deck between the 20's because you get a clear, full view of the entire field as the plays unfold.

I think that it likely depends on the stadium too. I've been to three NFL games, one in Miami, and sat between the 40s each time. Good view, but far away too. I've been in the lower deck for a handful of college games and, if near the middle of the field, the experience was great. I was once in the third row from the field on the 10 yard line, and could hear the players talking to one another when they were at that end. Was cool, but also hard to follow when they were near the other end zone. End zone seats are the worst, in my personal experience.

    Heres my experiences:

Lower level endzone.....crazy at a dolphins game (watched Tom Brady rip our hearts out with a 80+ yard TD pass to Troy Brown in OT)

Mid level endzone: dont remember much it was a 9-6 snoozefest of a defensive game between us and the ravens.

Upper level: Christmas night game against the jets, raining, crazy, fans were going crazy

"Silver level" at the Panthers/Dolphins thursday night game in Carolina about 6 years ago: Wine and cheese crowd. I stayed quiet as not to be kicked out. They're not mean to opposing fans, they are just literally watching the game with a monocle and top hat golf clapping touch downs. Lame experience.

Nose bleeds: Dolphins AT jets - Worst experience of my life. Thank god I was with multiple Dolphins fans (from finheaven).....got beer thrown at us, and old man got in my face telling me Nammath was quote "a million times better than marino" whom I almost fought before his 40 year old grand daughter broke it up. All around **** show. And it was week 3 of our 1-15 season. So fml.

Sick, I was at the Fins/Panthers TNF game too! I was in the upper deck, Fins side, on the 40. Very cool, polite crowd, and a ton of Miami fans that night. My wife and I didn't get any rude flack from anyone, but we're not loud people and we stay in our seats. I so wish that we were in the NFC South and that was an away game every year.

WTH do you mean fake noise DJ? Atlanta was just busted pretty hard for fake noise.. I am sure we will not have fake noise....now if you are talking about all of us fans hollering and cheering and the roof keeps most of it in....is that what you are talking about? Pft..Lol

I agree wholeheartedly about the "living rooms". What a crock of ****, in those areas there were some seats" I know because I had Comp tickets quite often" that people had been Lifetime Fans between the 40's.People that have bought season tickets since 1966 losing their seats to this malarkey. This topic really upsets me, and I appreciate Ross upgrading the stadium but this right here just kicked some people (including the end zone corner seats also), right between their legs and they should be ashamed of themselves for that.:tantrum:
