Based off Greg Likens tweets (who I trust more than Omar), I counted 10 TDs from Tannehill. 4 to Cameron, 3 to Jennings, 2 to Hazel, 1 to Landry.
When you work on tight red zone stuff you're going to throw a lot of touchdowns. I don't know if it's worth getting giddy over. I do like hearing that the chemistry between Tannehill and newcomers like Jordan Cameron and Greg Jennings is coming along though.
Would love it if someone kept OTA stats on TDs and then did a leaderboard, like a normal NFL stats page. People would see that this is happening in most camps. COmparatively, the Dolphins aren't throwing WAY more TDs than the rest of the league during these practices. So it's not a sign of anything incredible. Encouraging, yes? Time to throw a parade? Def not.
Freeman does not need a "Kiss of death" to hamper his performance. He does that just fine on his own. Freeman is a non issue good or bad. Tanny's progression is what to be excited about.
Things is, these beat writers never sounded so optimistic in the past few seasons. And maybe my memory is hazy, but since I started following the offseason more closely, I don't think I've ever seen a Dolphins QB throwing 10 TDs in practice and 1 int (on a wobbled catch), even during redzone work... the excitement isn't based on the sheer number of TDs, but on the overall efficiency. Nevertheless, I'll try to contain my excitement at least until the pads come on.
So where did I read that Cameron had some drops? Anyone have any idea how many, if they were bad, etc?
This might be true, but it looks like (to me anyway) they ARE throwing more TDs than they have in the past, which is an absolutely positive sign. They look to be way further along this time of the year than they were last season (and seasons before that)...
Right...that's my take. IDC if they're throwing more than X team or whatever...it seems much more efficient than previous camps w/RT, so I like it. Not saying "19-0 phuckers!" but I see it as a positive.
And THAT is worth celebrating. As is the chemistry between Tannehill and... well, EVERYONE. #notmissingwallace
Inorite? Seems there have been more deep connections this camp than the previous 3 put together...from all 3 QBs (not counting Freeman). Or it could be that it just seems that way, because we were looking so hard for it with Wallace here.
Lazor System Right players Experience in system Tanny experienced = Results (as a friend said "With great coaching, great athletes can be champions.")
Well, there's this: And then there was Blowmar (I won't even quote his trash) squawking that Jordan had more drops than catches...I don't think it's hard to realize why he said that (which is BS by all other accounts)...he hasn't changed his stripes.
From what I read Jordan had a high catch percentage in 2013 (73%), but a relatively low one in 2014 (60%). I believe there was a shoulder injury that hampered him in 2014 to factor in as well.
Some tidbits I really liked seeing: So much for the "slot only" BS. Dysfunction? Is this a surprise? Mike Who?
Meanwhile in Beefalo: http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bil...ting-qbs-struggle-in-second-minicamp-practice
Quickly lurked on a Bills forum to see what they were saying there and found this funny quote: What's funny is that it's basically the opposite of what a lot of people are saying on this forum... stuff like: "The offense is supposed to be better while everyone is in shorts", "Throwing a lot of TDs is normal during redzone work", etc. And here are Bills fans asking if it's normal for QBs to play well in minicamps...
The poster doesn't even mention the new offense though. His theory for why the offense isn't playing well is this: "Just feel like it's gotta be tough to block in shorts, it'd pretty much be on the defensive line to be "sporting" and not go too hard." That's pretty much the opposite of what most people on here say, "offenses are supposed to be better in shorts" and stuff like that.. which I actually agree with, by the way. Just goes to show you how people see things differently...
Time for those boys to start hitting the sauce. Of course they'll play out of their minds against us.
Ya it's just OTAs and I'm just goofin'. I'm excited for our team, don't really care what others are doing, just thought it funny they didn't complete a single pass on first series of 11 on 11s.
Honestly- Mike Wallace. He was constantly being passive aggressive with media, probably off the record as well, voicing displeasure. Made for an easy narrative for click-bait articles and scrutiny instead of just watching the natural progression of practices and RT's growth. Things are so much better now.
Heck no.......Cameron has never had a problem catching the football that I know of.....all I kept seeing is...there is another RZ TD from Tannehill to Jordan.....the pair hooked up for 7 TD'S in two days.
