They got Howard because Howard wanted to get the hell away from Kobe. But when he was in the Magic and the Rockets were interested he said he wouldnt sign with that team.

The problem with the Wade scenario is that we just don't have enough information.

If he was promised something last summer that now the team is walking back or reneging, that's wrong. This organization is supposed to be a family. If Riley/Arison made Wade a handshake deal, I would expect them to honor it, even if it looks bad in hindsight.

However, if Wade is just being snippy and is now making new demands that had never been considered or discussed, I get it from the Heat side.

There's got to be a happy medium. Too many reasons for this couple to stay together rather than split up.

Its Mudiay unless Russ or Ok fall. Sign Aldridge and BAM! Finals are very realistic.

Isn't Melo a 4 at this point? Could he and LMA co-exist?

So anyway back to the draft, if I'm understanding this correctly it looks like Devin Booker should make it to pick #10?

I dunno. If these wing guys were better shooters, he'd have a better chance to make it to 10. But if teams (with the recent emphasis on the 3-ball) want a guy with pure shooting and range, they have to take Booker.

I'm not sure Booker is a better prospect than RJ Hunter, though. I wouldn't discount Hunter as an option at 10 if we're gung-ho must get a floor-spacing knock-down type.

Heat and Nuggets supposedly both involved with Kings on trade scenarios, with both Heat and nuggets looking to get Eric Moreland from the Kings, an undrafted free agent from last year.

I don't see why it's not a logical projection. I don't know if you're explaining that very well if your main arguments are player comparisons. Player comparisons aren't evidence. I don't even see how they enter into the argument.

WCS has a 58% true shooting percentage, averaged 9 points per game and had a 24+ PER at Kentucky. He's got the vertical leaping abilities of an athletic 6'7" guy except he's 7'1" with a 7'3" wing span. He's uncommonly agile for his size, uncommonly fast. He was a standout wide receiver in high school. Imagine a 7 footer like him playing wide receiver WELL. With that kind of speed/size/agility combo, it's unsurprising he's an animal in transition and averaged 1.40 points per possession that way. He was deadly off the lob in Kentucky's half-court offense, great catching the ball, and a great finisher. Evidenced by his uncommon good (for his size) no-step vertical of 31 inches, he doesn't need any time or distance to gather before he jumps. He improved his free throw percentage every year and ended up at 62%, and flashed a jump shot that might actually turn out good (he was 11 of 22).

You're telling me that it's not a logical projection for a guy with that skill set to end up good on offense? I just disagree. It's fine if you don't like his ability that way, I just don't understand how player comparisons are evidence.

To me, Hunter is erratic. He's an erratic decision-maker and an erratic shooter. I'm much more worried that when you get Hunter into your system you find out that the reason you drafted him, to be a great shooter, just ends up not coming to fruition at all. I'm not worried about that with Devin Booker at all. Maybe Booker doesn't end up the next Klay Thompson, but if so it will be because he didn't successfully add other pieces to his game. It won't be because he's not a knock down shooter, IMO.

With Hunter I feel like you could be getting a Henry Walker from behind the arc. And by that I mean he might drain a few threes lobbed up from a galaxy far, far away...but meanwhile you're running your offense and kicking the ball out to him in what you believe to be his spots, and it's just not working. You end up having to do it over and over and over again hoping for a law of averages bump.

The way it works in my mind, and I don't know if reality reflects this or not, you don't just want a guy who is 40 percent from everywhere in every situation. You want a guy that is much better than 40 percent off open looks and good feeds. When your offense is able to execute and make that happen, you want to be rewarded with the points on a regular basis...because you're really not going to be able to execute that well all the time, so your guy will end up with bad bounce passes and awkward timing, or not a good look, etc...and those are the shots you're cool with him missing in order to bring his percentage down to the usual.

I don't see R.J. Hunter being that type but I do see Devin Booker being that type.

Meanwhile I'd really love to get Willie Cauley-Stein in training camp as a tight end since he was such a standout wide receiver in high school, lol.

    My goodness. Could you imagine?

    This...is...INSANITY.

if it's Mudiay he's getting traded. We won't take a ball dominant PG and keep him. Gary Payton tried that once in the triangle and it failed miserably. That's oil and water. That would surprise me more then any other pick we could make.

You know...the Heat do such a great job with their Draft smokescreens that they get you back to thinking that the original thinking was correct.

Which leads me to believe.....maybe the Kelly Oubre meetings and scout trips mean something?

I wish this guy had like zero basketball potential. I wonder where in the Supplemental Draft he would go if he declared, lol.

Just look at those hands of his and the way he runs at 7'1". The way he runs actually reminds me a lot of Mike Evans but he's 8 inches taller. Absurdly. A standing vertical of 31 inches and a running vertical of 37 inches? God damn.

I wouldn't agree with it but I could see them liking Kelly Oubre. I would think they usually prefer guys with high basketball IQ as opposed to guys whose basketball IQ is considered a weakness, but it seems like the Heat sometimes flip the script on what they prefer and are willing to accept different things depending on what else a guy brings to the table.

The NBA Draft is such a "what have you done for me the last 5 minutes" thing it isn't funny.

If Justin Anderson didn't get hurt? He is an obvious Top 10 pick. Guess what? He is healthy now.

Why is he being projected to go #15+?

There is a rumor out there that has some legs.

The Heat is trying to package Salary, AND the #10 pick ...to MOVE UP in the draft.

Rumor is that it's with Denver at #7, which means that we are OBVIOUSLY moving up for Devin Booker.

    True Story:

Hassan Whiteside is basically LIVING at the AAA Heat training facility. A couple of days ago, he made 8 corner threes in a row, and decided to challenge Spo to a contest. Spo told him, "If you make 10 in a row, I will put in a play for you to get a corner look."

Whiteside made 10 in a row. Spo said "Oh..I meant 15 in a row..."
