I think things have calmed down. Gabrielle Union was chatting with Winslow via twitter yesterday. Wade wearing a Heat hat the other day. Pretty sure Henry told Wade that things will work out and to let him handle it.
Ainge: "Okay Mike, I'm not ****ing around. That's it, I'm going nuclear. Turn this **** down *******...I dare you. NINE ****ing 1st round picks, your choice of anybody on the roster, and a Oriental Oil massage with happy ending from Bill ****ing Russell himself." Jordan: "Uh..Kaminsky." Ainge: "What the **** is wrong with you, you prick? I'm offering to give you my next born child for perpetual endentured slavery. How's that? Turn that **** down! I dare you, you bald washed up ****." Jordan: "Man, just bring me another drink."
In all seriousness how did Charlotte not take that trade? I mean it already fries my brain that you would be so dead set on Kaminsky that you would pass on a guy like Winston. But then to top it off someone pulls their trousers down and offers a king's ransom and you are like, "Naw man I'm good." Wtf?
I love the overreaction by the knick fans and media. I don't know who told these turkeys that rebuilding is a 1 year thing. We've sucked for the better part of the 15 years since Ewing been gone save for 1 or 2 years....just have a little patience and let Phil build it. He did spectacularly well last might imo and he hasn't lost a trade since he's been here.
It's the "thing" to do....and ofcourse the attention whore that is Stephen A Smith had to ruffle the feathers. Im not excited about the pick, i mean how many toothpick 7 footers have panned out? But i also wont pretend I KNOW it was the wrong pick, ecspecaily when all you hear about is how he may ne the most offensively gifted player in the drat. Wait and see.
I honestly dont think SAS is as mad as he claims to be. Sounds like 95% of it was just for attention. He loves acting dissapointed because he loves when people talk about him. I think he even hoped the Knicks picked the Kristaps for he can go crazy.
I almost tuned in to First Take this morning just to see what he would say and then I thoght ehhhhhhhh, i think i got the gist of it.. Im good..
This ****s a hobby for MJ. Probably knew pat wanted jdub and wanted to thank us for hanging his jersey. So looks like that was a genius decision by Riley.
Didn't realize Deandre Jordan and Chris Paul had such a rift at the end of the season. Doesn't look good for him to stay with The Clips.
It's a conspiracy! Everyone around the Knicks and Melo are trying to legitimize Isola! http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...d-new-york-knicks-drafting-kristaps-porzingis Melo sat in on that workout for a "few minutes" according to Phil. Melo in full damage control though. No way you call a top 5 lottery pick not projected to play in his first year or well in his second a "steal".
I really hope the Lakers get DJ since he's visiting. He's fool's gold and that would ensure Boogie doesn't end up there. Of course I'd rather they get no one but small victories are still victories.
Gotta love the media and the Melo overreaction. Likely he wasnt nearly as "livid" as was reported, he also likely doesnt believe the Knicks made a fantastic pick at 4. But its funner to be extreme I suppose.
Carmelo has played with a guy like Kristaps before in Gallinari... Gallinari is a very high skill player... and he's good... but Carmelo is probably looking for something better than that and I would think that's the only thing that may have upset him but not much. In the end... Carmelo is making 23 million next year in his hometown. I doubt he was that angry.. Nevermind Winslow... I think Mudiay should have been the pick for your Knicks.
Waiiiiiitttttt. So you're saying ESPN purposefully sensationalized a non story in order to generate ratings? GTFO!
I disagree. I think Boik was right and Mudiay is a terrible system fit in the triangle. I think Winslow should have been their pick.
Carmelo never played with Gallinari. They were traded for one another. Secondly, the most basic things required of the triangle are court awareness, ability to play without the ball and shooting, none of which is Mudiay. The correct pick under those circumstances was porzingis, Winslow or herzonja. Those are the players that fit the offense. And the players imo with the best upside were Pozingis and Winslow. Secondly, this is all bs. Winslow and Mudiay are the same age as porzingis anyway. Regardless of who the knicks picked, it wasn't going to be the next Lebron who comes in and dominates.
The triangle is done. When the Knicks start winning again Phil Jackson wont be part of the Knicks. You draft the best player available and build around their skillset, period. The league is much faster than it was 7 years ago. The pace has picked up. Even the Heat ran a triangle when Shaq/Wade were here and we wont gi back to that. You cant convince me that the Knicks will start winning with Greg Monroe, Carmelo and Kristaps. Im not trying to bash the Knicks or anything like that but get real. That trio isnt going to cut it. Take Mudiay, bring Carmelo back, bring in DeAndre, add some 3 point shooting and start running on pace with the rest of the league. Edit: youre right about gallinari/carmelo. My bad
Wellll Since Phil is still calling the shots in NY I think expecting him to make picks contrary to the triangle is pretty silly
In five years, the NBA will be made up of 5'5" people in clown makeup because of some breakthrough in analytics. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
Yeah you'd like if we started signing a whole bunch of mediocrity with limited skills like Deandre. The triangle will never be done. It is the correct way to play basketball. It requires players that can actually play without the ball so not everyone fits. That isn't Mudiay and I'm not sold on that Mudiay helps you win sooner anyway since he's still a teenager just like Kristaps. So what youre saying makes no sense Monroe could be part of the solution but he is certainly not transforming the nyk with just he and porzingis. I'm not even sure we sign him. By all accounts it looks like David West will be a knick and we will roll the cap space over to 16 which is genius since everyone and their mom will be opting out to get more money.
You know where Pierce fits better then anywhere else? Cleveland. They need someone with some veteran leadership who can hit a big shot
Pretty cool video, man. You can be mad that he left, or you can appreciate the time that he spent here. I tweeted out numerous times over the 4 year run that as HEAT fans we need to appreciate this, because when it ends, I don't think we will see anything like this again in our lifetime. I am 24, I love HEAT, Dolphins and Canes, and I honestly don't think I'll get to see a championship run like that from these teams for rest of my life, and that's alright, because at least I got to witness this. Flying Death Machine might be dead, but not forgotten. Thanks, Bron.
Lol nah, he's simply exercising his right/power to demand from the organization what he wishes. As that organization's (and really, that entire city's) chief asset he holds all the power as he opts out.
