Is this ****ing board about the Dolphins or the posters' character defects?? Maybe a subforum for that would be a good idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reminds me of the movie, "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. "If you really love someone, but you just can't seem to get it together, when is enough, enough?" Brad Pitts answer sums it up for me, "Never." I love watching football. I love the Dolphins. I was born into Dolphin fandom. I've invested in them on an emotional level. I get your point and it's valid. I just don't want to quit being a Dolphins fan, no matter how positive or negative I feel about them. This is really the first season in a while I've been truly enthusiastic about our chances of winning and doing something meaningful. Was it all worth it? If I think about it and am honest, probably not. Yet, I'm not going anywhere. I guess I just see my fandom as a constant, no matter what.
I love that movie, but he's wrong, true love doesn't make you miserable. But you're still not what I'm talking about. You are still hopeful, even if this is the first time in awhile. The people I'm talking about can look at last year and this offseason and STILL be bitter, hateful, miserable and refuse to let themselves feel even hope.
Yes, but he's not the only one. There's also the people who just refuse to feel even a little optimistic, even though (based on the info we have at this point) we've made real strides. Its that kind of thing I don't understand why people still bother being a fan. I mean if the only thing holding a person to a team is tradition, and all that person feels is so miserable they refuse to even have a little bit of hope, then there's something more fulfilling they can be doing with their time. Life is short, be happy.
I agree he is way too often negative, but I think people often forget some things LBsFinest has said. 1) After the Suh signing he said free agency has been an A so far (post #4 below). http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...-Hear-Your-Early-Grades&p=2557753#post2557753 2) His prediction for the season is 8-8, which is still easily within the range of realistic when Vegas has us at 8.5 wins with 9 more likely than 8 (post #5 below). http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?86096-Over-Under-Odds&p=2605402#post2605402
Lol just because you think the team will miss the playoffs for the 7th year in a row doesn't mean you're miserable.
True. Everything you do on here does in fact equate with you being miserable about the team, however.
I think I might wanna bump that prediction up to 9 wins at this point...but that still means no playoffs.....on the bright side, we finally have a winning season! Although I'm terrified that a 9-7 season saves Philbin's job.
Yeah.. that's the only problem with a winning record, unless somehow Philbin miraculously grows into a really good head coach (low probability I know). I think we'll win 9-10 with playoffs more likely than not.
