Kobe absolutely was the driving force behind five titles for that organization. He is also absolutely an albatross around their neck now.
It's short term pain imo. They can play the we took care of our guy card at the end of his career down the road. I honestly applaud the Lakers for what they are doing with Kobe.
Millsap stays in Atlanta, 3 yrs $59 million. Third year is a player option Paul Millsap is also officially a crazy person. Turned down $80 million guaranteed in a no tax state vs $59 in a tax state. You're not LeBron bro. What you think will be there in 2 years when you're 32?
Mike Wallace: Wade has two proposals: A near max deal with an option for 2016 and a longer term deal at lower averages. Hopefully a decision soon but contracts like Millsaps eff things up.

Matthew R Tynan @Matthew_Tynan 16 mins16 minutes ago David Pick is a smart guy with good sources. Would be a big break for him. Matthew R Tynan added, Patrick Quaife @pquaife@Matthew_Tynan Couldn't that guy just be taking the 95% chance he's going to SA and BSing to play off those odds? Matthew R Tynan @Matthew_Tynan 8 mins8 minutes ago Pick is very connected overseas. He’s not a guy to typically break NBA news, but he’s still connected.
With McBob and Winslow I think they have a very strong top 7. I also like Ennis and UD as end of the bench guys. Ennis could still develop and is worth holding on to. Same with Johnson (but with limited upside). Though obviously any of those three could be upgraded. If Bird nets Ezeli then all I'd really want is a better shooter or for Rio to bounce back and be the shooter he was previous years. I like that 12 for this year. I see it as a better starting 5 than what the cavs had this year and also deeper and more versatile overall roster. Next year, who knows, I'm not as keen to bring in Durant as some are.
Those 5 championships wouldn't sell me. There's simply no benefit. I'd be looking at Kobe and seeing his contract as the anchor that prevents me from winning any championships in the near future.
Shumpert gets 4/40 with Cleveland. Cavs today guaranteed $230 million bucks to 3 guys not named LeBron James Unreal
I thought about that. Obviously that's just conspiracy theory crap, but the result may be the same. I heard that last year the Nets paid a record $90 mil in luxury tax. I'm dying to see what Gilbert is going to have to pay for this coming year. Obviously Gilbert is pretty rich so he won't be bankrupt or even close, but it wouldn't surprise me if the cavs operated at a loss while James is the GM.
You bet your *** ticket prices are gonna reach record numbers in Cleveland. Nosebleeds are gonna be like courtside prices.
