I hadn't really heard about or read anywhere where they talked about this, but when I was looking over team stats and history earlier, I noticed that Bob Griese only started all of the team's games twice in his long career (1970 & 1977), missing at least one game most seasons. After a quick look over the rest of the team's history, it seems that until Ryan took the field last season, no one else but Marino had started even two seasons worth of consecutive games in the 49 years that the team has played! So, unless I'm missing something, Ryan, with his 48 consecutive games, is in second place behind Marino all time in Fins history.
Yup looks like it.. scroll down for a table that shows all that pretty clearly: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Miami_Dolphins_starting_quarterbacks
Wow, really shows his toughness and resilience. With the amount of sacks and hits he's taken over the last 3 years is really impressive.
IMO Tannehill's toughness is one of his elite level skills. These have not been easy seasons. He has taken a beating behind some poor pro and game plans that provided no protection.
I thought matt Moore started a game for us last season? Or did tannehill leave the game injured? Ignore me. It was 2012. Vs the jets. Tannehill injured and Moore came in.
I had just commented yesterday in a thread that he has the most important ability in spades; that's availability.
i think his work as a WR made him a tough SOB
