Sorry if OT, and serious question, but why is it Nickleback catches so much grief? Did they do something really bad or something?
Whether it is deserved or not it became chic to view them disparagingly or to belittle their musical talent and efforts . Not sure where it strted but I think it was in part because they became popular but very mainstream or mor and not "true" to some higher musical calling and that they are in part a packaged end product marketed more than purely musical , and that the band portrayed themselves as stars and bought in to the record label hype and marketing . Not my preferred musical taste but still like , think I wanna be a rock star is a kitschy fun tune , ,certainly no worse than many pre packaged hit songs , fun in it's proper place.
