Or a young couple with the recliner back totally not into the game, but each other and the camera zooming in.
with all this humidity and rain that happens during hurricane season, i can´t imagine these things aren´t water proof , they will be rotten after one week if they are not
I get that they're competing with the living room experience, but I'm not sure they should. Reality is that it's never going to be as comfortable for me as my own home, no matter who many recliners they add. On the other hand, if I'm somebody who loves the excitement of being at the game then my living room will never compete either. I think my focus would be on the maximizing the elements that I can never replicate at home rather than trying to replicate the home environment.
Figured this is part of the renovation so I'd throw it here, lol. Got my seat back yesterday... Happy to own a piece of Dolphins' history.
This all makes sense to me. But then again, I'm not in the market for a $75K seat to 7 football games.
Uh. you really think they would put leather seats there? Really? DJ, that is called Marine Vinyl. Same material installed on Boat seats. Boats don't get wet so.......
They did have acoustic experts involved in the roof design. http://www.sunlifestadium.com/news/ross-commitment-to-south-florida-evident-in-stadium-modernization http://www.foxsports.com/florida/story/miami-dolphins-sun-life-stadium-renovations-022415 The roof really could be a game changer. I like most of the other changes, and I was able to upgrade my seats, which was very nice too, but it's the roof that I expect to have the greatest impact (in 2016 and beyond).
They should try to accommodate as many people as possible. The living room experience is not going to significantly detract from the other experiences. One of my biggest problems with going to live games is that I basically end up watching 2 games on Sunday. The best football experience for me is watching 10 1pm games at once. That hasn't been replicated to this point in the stadium, and I'm glad it is now.
That's a great point. I've read that the same access will be available in the corners of the upper deck.
I'm sure they went top of the line fabric with those reclining chairs. PVC coated, UV resistant, fire ******ant, etc... With all that, someone is going to be taking very good care of those seats and I would think they stay covered this next year when not in use. The canopy will help immensely and was probably a big factor in creating that seating option.
Apparently, I got TOSed for insulting a bunch of seats that can withstand cigarette burns. Fire ******ant Fire ******ant Fire ******ant Fire ******ant Fire ******ant Fire ******ant Fire ******ant Fire ******ant
of course but these are monkeys making monetary decisions Rafs, they have no clue what we really want, it's a shame because it's fu##in obvious to anyone who isn't a homer and understands what makes a real home field advantage
, "bringing the seats closer to the field and having it feel intimate like a football stadium and not like a multi-use stadium". I remember having an argument with ozzy telling me he had no idea wtf I was talking about when I kept saying the word intimate lol..... It's all right there in that article and justifies a lot of what I've been saying on these boards for a decade , it's good to know they tried and took certain measures and I understand there is only so much lipstick you can put on that pig, but you just can't do this living room thing and tell me you really understand.
No smart owner would want to give you what you want in their stadium, the dumb ones are trying to compete with your living room experience lol
There's room to accommodate everyone. Those are premium seats -- they are not for everyman. Even without the recliners, seats in that location are going to go for a few hundred bucks a game or more. The people buying those seats are unlikely to be loud maniacal fans regardless of the construction of those seats. So they can either make a few hundred a game there with regular seats or they can put in a recliner that costs a few hundred dollars and make a few thousand a game. At least that's the thinking, I think. I don't know if they are right about that, but it's not a crazy idea, even if it is "unappealing" to many of us.
It looks so different, love it. Can't wait for the roof next year.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article28432213.html Pretty good article from the Herald. Mostly stuff we knew, with some updates. I'd forgotten about the fact that before the 2017 season, all of the parking will be redone, with tunnels to keep people out of the roads. That's a cool final step.
we've already determined that they can make extra money doing what they did to the heart of the lower bowl...doesnt take away the fact thats its a stupid idea for the overall stadium experience, the team, and the reputation..it will cause a negative residual affect.
I don't think it changes the overall stadium experience much at all because even if they were regular seats they'd be several hundred bucks a game and the people sitting there won't be loud, rabid fans. Just the way it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In what way and at what price for those "traditional" seats? Even at $125-150 per seat you are generally not getting the really hard-core, loud fans there. And its a pretty small area of the stadium, so I don't see it having a really meaningful impact on sound or atmosphere.
It's not about the upper class type person that will be there, it's about the mood the section will create, if I pack upper class folks in with the middle class in the heart of the lower bowl that's been moved 25 feet closer to the action, they are more inclined to join the middle class in this instance and have fun and be loud..more chances of them getting caught up in the action..the living room section will dictate the energy..it's gonna stick out like a sore thumb.. Now the other side has a section that has wider seats as well in that area, it's not the living room type crap but they have a section of much wider seats..we'll be able to do a comparison.
Ross never considered what the decades long Dolphin ticket holder, who sat in those seats thinks.Displacing them was never a second thought. It's ALL about getting the Superbowl back to South Florida.Bottom line, end of story.
he will accomplish that, with the improvements it should be the #1 Super Bowl destination, its perfect for that event.
Hey, I really like the black seats and chairs in the corner(s), especially once the roof is installed..great seats. Does anybody know how much tickets are for these seats?..... I guess these seats will be under the big screens.
I completely agree, but this is what Ross is about, doing the opposite of the best thing for the team. At least he spends money and is willing to try to be the best, with great intentions. Jeffrey Loria on the other hand, is his polar opposite. But the result unfortunately is the same.
I love them for the most part. Too bad that we can't install structure to move the upper bowl over the lower bowl...that would imho, make the overhaul perfect. But I am very thankful and happy that Ross dug deep into his pockets and made all of this possible...I sure hope that my friend and his company have purchased the same seating(block of seats)that they have purchased since 1966 and continually bought the same seating section since, and once JRS was being built, they bought and have the same seating (yard lines, rows, and seat numbers) at JRS that they had at the Orange Bowl. Fortunately, I have been able to attend so many games and sit in these seats too many times to even count...I am hoping for my invite soon for 2 seats and attend as many games as I want. Sweet!
Those seats are in the corners of the lower bowl. There are 4 available in section 153 for the Falcon game (resale) for $200 each.
